F ing this and that , day time show at a festival in Seattle. Audience was batting around big beach balls that kind of vibe. Anyway I took my daughter we sat quite a ways back and up a dozen rows to avoid any possible mayhem. She does remember it , sorta.
My daughter has the distinction of when she's asked " What was your first concert ? " she says " Sex Pistols my Mom took me when I was 5. "

I’ve loved Sex Pistols but I hated that Glen Matlock kicked out couse I hated Sid ! A great mistake ! When Glen was back in the band everything was alright ! Very good as in the beginning. Terrible mistake ! Jon Fishet
John sounds good than he did. But he never gave a flying fuck how he sounded
great song--- too bad johnny fucked it up after the solo when he was supposed to come back in... the song ended and he was still trying to complete his lyrics as if it had been an artistic choice. nope.
When John Lydon sang "Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside" he was very much out of tune. I wonder if he should take singing lessons? Also, this composition was 49% attitude, 50% noise and 1% talent. Mr Lydon should stick to selling butter and being contrary. He has no talent.
Kind of ironic, coming from somebody who, as far as I can tell, has achieved absolutely nothing apart from posting inanities on youtube. Go stick your head in a polythene bag and improve the planet. Lydon sings off tune on purpose.
Sorry Richard but I only just read your post. You obviously don't get irony. You have no idea of what I have achieved in my life so you are not really in a position to comment. I will not be topping myself at your suggestion.
"Singing" aside, I remember the punk movement. It consisted of a lot of ignorant and angry people with an unfocused "attitude" making a lot of noise, spitting and seeking attention. They hardly changed the world did they?
If you are looking for artists who challenged the establishment there are people who did it with more talent and more success. The Sex Pistols et. al. were so hyped by the media they could hardly have failed to get attention. They sold newspapers. In the great scheme of things they are about as important as the Flapper Girls of the 20s. Gimmicky? Yes. Original? Yes. Important? Just look at the state of the UK all these years later. What did Jonny Rotten achieve? What did Punk achieve? Nothing. They were a trendy flash in the pan.
Some people from that era did go on to greater things, most notably Paul Weller. He is a true artist and has real talent.
As for anarchy in the UK, what a silly idea! If you want to see what no law and order looks like go take a holiday in Venezuela.
