What Chris Thomas and Steve Jones did on this track and much of the album was simply extraordinary for a group that had been together for such short space of time and were still leaning their craft. It's equally impressive how they managed to get this sound playing live. The band were a phenomena, and I have to agree with Noel Gallagher, that they were probably the most important band since the Beatles.

In 1977 I was 16 when I first laid eyes on The Sex Pistols on Australian TV.
They were showing edited clips of the Band playing and then cutting to Lydon being interviewed outside Buckingham Palace.
After a few minutes I thought to myself "These guys are taking 'the piss' "
I thought that Lydon ( Rotten) was leading the interviewer down the garden path.
I was right on both counts.
The media took the bait, hook, line and sinker.
The Great Rock n Roll Swindle (It's a Swindle)
After Lydon left the Band, they got several guest singers.
My favourite was RONNIE BIGGS on "No One is Innocent"
Australia was fairly isolated in the mid-70's yet we had pioneering Bands such as THE SAINTS & RADIO BIRDMAN, BLACK CHROME, THE LEFTOVERS, YOUNG CHARLATANS etc. that were leading the charge against the establishment.
Phill Calvert said that" In 1977 Melbourne had Boys Next Door, News, JAB, The Reals, The Obsessions, The Spread, The Chosen Few, La Femme, TRS. That’s the Early punk scene. After that there were so many bands that were great and contributed to the changing Melbourne sound. I was only aware of the bands that I saw and that played at the same places we did. I also think that Radio Birdman and the Saints touring Melbourne and people going to see them, opened up people to a lot of music they hadn’t heard and sent them towards playing in bands themselves."
None of these Bands called themselves PUNK, it was a label that the media placed on them.
The late 70's / early 80's was a great time to be alive as a music fan/supporter.
