Wrong, you're WAY off. "Boy band" is a modern dancepop concept, nothing to do with the Pistols or how they formed. Care to learn the ACTUAL history? The Pistols were originally self-formed in 1972 by Steve Jones and Paul Cook - band members - and their mate Wally Nightingale. Bassist and songwriter Glen Matlock joined in '73 and John Lydon in '75. The term "boy band" didn't even exist until the nineties. Nothing to do with manufactured dancepop groups.
@@paulbrown8402 spot on, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock were all decent musicians. Johnny Rotten proved during his PIL days he could sing - only Sidney Vicious was a pretender.
The raw heaviness of Steve Jones' tone is unbelievable. So distinctive and he doesn't move his wrist or hand so much - it's just him. Incredible.
John Lydon`s voice in the last verse of "Anarchy in the UK" is the best punk-sound this world has to offer
