The Bassist will hear the BRR BRR DENG jokes to eternity but i have to admit Martinie is incredible and plays a really unusual Bassline for Metal. If you see covers from Bassist and only focus on the bass you will see, he played really funky and jazzy stuff and is highly respected in the Bass family.

Before and during the L.D. 50 album cycle, they were using aliases such as Kud (Chad Grey), Gurrg (Greg Tribbett), Ryknow (Ryan Martinie) and sPaG (Matthew McDonough) and then during the The End of All Things to Come album cycle they went for an extraterrestrial look with their makeup and went by Chüd (Chad), Güüg (Greg), Rü-d (Ryan) and Spüg (Matt). After that with their Lost and Found album onwards they used their normal names and abandoned their makeup. But when they reunited in 2021 and were performing, they started to use makeup again.
Mudvayne is one of the most underrated bands in the music industry. Therefore, it is always nice to see the reactions of people who meet them (or their top tracks) for the first time)). LD 50 is an undeniably brilliant album, but personally, their self-titled album comes right behind it in my top. It is even difficult to put into words why - it has its own atmosphere, interesting lyrics and conceptual overtones, but at the same time it remains accessible to the listener... As far as it is possible in heavy music)). To sum it up - I highly recommend "Beautiful And Strange", "Out to pasture", "Beyond The Pale" or whatever you prferm one)
Judging by your reaction to this song I think you’ll really “dig” Under My Skin because it’s similar to this song with its lyrical content and has more distinct and unique sections throughout, including a very badass rapping part as well as awesome bass throughout

This song is about your bad conscious telling you bad shit like offing yourself because everything sucks. Probably the most realistic lyrics to a real train of thinking. I hate my life so my bad thoughts think this all the time but I throw on mudvayne and realize Chad feels the same and he found hope so I did too.

Interesting fact about this band they won an award at MTV VMAs for this music video dig breakthrough artist of the year if I remember right it's been so long you should look up pictures of them walking the red carpet at MTV VMAs I think it was 2001 it's been so long but the music video is wild most interesting music video I've ever seen in my entire life this song is a masterpiece it's just when you see the lyrics for the song it really puts you off especially towards the end and what it's about it's not what I was expecting the first time I listen to it in the first time I got to see the lyrics for this song but the song can hit pretty hard on the melody and stuff for if you have a good surround sound system watching the music video and listening to the song

If you wanna move on to TEOATTC, (Per)Version of a Truth is the best track in my opinion, but pretty much every song on the album has something special to offer. Lost and Found, their third album, has some bangers as well. Rain. Sun. Gone is great. So is All That You Are, Forget to Remember, and IMN. Though that last one is pure anger and hatred and has some pretty heavy lyrical content so beware lol.
Have you ever looked into Chad’s history? Your facial expressions tells me you really don’t understand how the music is about personal experiences and not just for a hook. I’ll pass on your channel. Get a clue love… Life wasn’t as easy for all of us like it was for you.
I do not understand the appeal of mudvayne. To each their own, I'm not judging. I just don't understand why they are so popular. It's incredibly generic metal to me.
Not trying to be a dick. But I don't understand how you can actively listen and then say that they are generic. Alternating bars, odd-time signatures make them really unique, especially in the age where LD50 came out. They are great songwriters that make the odd time signatures not feel awkward and enhances the experience.

I beg to differ... a lot of people try to pigeonhole them into new metal, but their discography is very diverse. The bass work is amazing, the riffs are nothing too much out there, but very servicable for the music, also the drummer has some really cool grooves and fills. I think if anything, compared to the likes of Slipknot, Mudvayne were rather underrated in the whole 2000s.
