Amplitube 5 presets for all of you who want to try it out!🤘 Main: www.tone.net/amplitube/presets/40071 Clean: www.tone.net/amplitube/presets/52950 I'm pretty sure different guitars will sound slightly different on this preset as they will have their own base sound, so YYMV. I hope nonetheless that this preset can serve as a solid base for your tone discoveries! Let me know of your experiences!
You don’t see green like that I’ll say that. It needs more gloss black on it to really look badass as fuck Edit: the fretboard being darker would look 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
your video was suggested and I just couldn't pass it up. i have the same guitar. wanted to tell you that you did a great job here, too...that tempo takes patience...you nailed it...subbed!
there is something about the tempo of this song that confuses mind and without proper focus you can go out of sync pretty quickly. thanks for the sub, glad you found such amateurish play pleasant
You can't beat the Schecter Kenny SIG model with that Seymour Duncan sustunic sustain system! Flip of a switch and sustain for weeks! Love both of mine!
Get a baritone. They sound way better than a standard guitar detuned that low. Type O I actually pretty easy to play for the most part but sounds sooo amazing
Have to comment on this guitar as I own one. I own 15 guitars (yeah I am lazy and don't like to change tunings on my guitars 😜) This is by far my favorite guitar. I own several esp / ltd, Ibanez and others. I would sell them all and keep this one. my ESP/LTD's are also signatures from my white iron cross to my Ben Burley. Sound wise, you can hear from his video how amazing the tone is. Weight, for what ever reason, this is the lightest guitar in my fleet as well. I know it depends on where they got the wood out of the tree, literally, but man is mine light. I have a few Ibanez that are very thin and this one is lighter. The neck is super easy and feels very fast... and lastly the switches... the 3 on the bottom are self explanatory (controls for the neck pick up and pickup selector) but the one at the top is a power cut, this is so handy to turn the guitar completely off until you are ready to play the next song... Guitar is 10/10
Thanks! I think thats a great idea, I would be happy to share my experience. As a not-so-bright note: i think this could happen in rather distant future due to my time constrains. Anyway, if you decide im just lazy, drop me a reminding comment soon, we will see what can be done! 🤘
I wonder how do you perceive it? Is it good or is it too much? The goal was to create as powerful tone as possible but with such experiments there is always a risk to go one bridge too far :)
Man amazing cover. I always find myself coming back to this one. Easily the best I’ve seen. If you see this, could you PLEASE shed some light on how you achieved the tone for the “inside of her” “feel her god” clean part of the song before the solo? That sound is SO hard to replicate I can’t even get close. Btw I love your amplitube preset for the distorted sound.❤
Thanks! I've uploaded the clean preset (www.tone.net/amplitube/presets/52950 ) although keep in my mind that the recorded clean sound is a result of overlaying my tone on top of original acoustic one. I haven't found any other way to have the real acoustic mixture of cleanliness and sharpness coming through AmpliTube so I just embraced the defeat and tried to enrich the original sound. If you find a way to get closer to the original tone (either with or without my tone) you HAVE to let me know :)
Thank you! I've been following tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/type-o-negative/christian-woman-guitar-pro-233951 (guitar 2 track) mostly, with some small additions during intro and middle acoustic part
thanks! there is hardly any secret there: baritone with proper (baritone) strings and a lot of time spend working with tone modeler (if you use AmpliTube there's a preset available I published for this song)
Great cover and tone man! Question: During the choruses, i noticed you use the low b string, but every tab i find don't use it. Is it a personal choice to make it heavier or thats how kenny does it?
hah! nice catch :) it's my personal touch, and since i've been aiming to get as deep sound as i could i was tempted to go as low as the bass - hence the low b string
@@avalan_che That is awesome and sounded great considering the notes are all right. In a band setting with a distorrted and chorus heavy bass sound like Peter had it could be a little too much, but since its a guitar cover it sounded amazing!
I’m using Amplitube 5 Max for tone modelling. It requires a lot of patience to squeeze the right sound out of it, but effects sometimes are really juicy and rewarding🤘
Asking as a non-musician, how come when you play that note at 6:59 the tone changes from low to high? Does it have to do with feedback on the pickups or something?
Yes, intuitively you're very close, You can see at ruclips.net/video/TTcEE9Q3cEE/видео.html I'm turning the sustainer on. The sustainer on this guitar has 3 modes (another switch just below the one I'm flipping) and it's set to middle (Sustainiac MIX), meaning it will highlight the harmonics just like would happen with amp feedback.
When I bought mine it had pretty much the same strings, tens or nines, I don't remember exactly, but it was tuned to E so the regular strings made sense. The thing is when you start using as low tunings as B the regular strings are getting too loose, so I've changed the strings to baritone 13-62.
that's mostly Amplitube 5 preset you hear here, although Schecter builds here solid tone base. I'm also using iRig HD2 audio interface. I've digitalized everything that could be digitalized, for better or for worse 😉
sure! www.tone.net/amplitube/presets/40071 just mind what i've posted in pinned comment - depending on your gear (guitar, audio interface etc) you might still get different sound. hopefully it won't be too distant from the tone you imagine!
Its B Standard (or Baritone tuning). Technically this Schecter is a bit to short to be called a real baritone, but equipping it with thicker strings allows to keep right string tension for tunings even as low as A standard. Here I’ve used 13-62 strings. Most common string gauges like 10-46 feel just too loose if tuned to B Standard. If you go low - go thick 🤘
Compared to 10's (or even 9's) tuned down to B? 13's felt so much easier to control, although first few plays indeed felt a bit awkward due to different thickness. Thankfully it was just a short adaptation and brain quickly adjusted to new material.
Label on that guitar informs me it was make in South Korea, however I need to admit that it hasn't witnessed much sunlight so far, so maybe mine will darken over time as well... Another reason you see the difference could be that my camera changes colors a bit (you can see the effect, or lack of it, on my oldest videos where I was still using really crappy camera - it should tell you if the color difference is real or is it just video effect)
Brick wall is nothing, prepare for a reinforced concrete wall coming up in max few weeks! Tone modeling guide and all the relevant tips and tricks comes after that, so patience my friend :)
I've used tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/type-o-negative/christian-woman-guitar-pro-233951 (guitar 2 track) as a base, I've just added few notes for intro and modified (slightly) the acoustic part in the middle. If you interested to have those parts in tab as well then I suppose I can upload my modified version, but otherwise the UG tab works fine :)
Yeah, I guess I'm on the same team, I would immediately throw bags of money at ESP if the sig guitar was made by them, but the kind of dirty and hard to tame sound profile of Schecter somehow fits the Type-O hear-and-feel IMO :) The only thing limiting in this Schecter I found so far is that no matter how much effort I put into tone shaping and modeling, there is always this "schecter sound signature" leaking out. I wonder if it would be possible to get the tone I got here with comparable ESP? I'm pretty sure it would not be possible to mimic ESP tone with Schecter (at least this one)
@@avalan_che I own three Schecter guitars, Hellraiser w/ Sustainiac, Sun Valley Super Shredder exotic hardtail, and the Kenny Hickey sig as seen in this video. I love the sound of them all, each is unique and not hard to tame IMO. I also own a PRS baritone which has it's own sound. The Sun Valley has a "lighter" tone compared to the Hellraiser. The Sun Valley also has passive pickups while the Hellraiser has Active. I've played ESP/LTD and while some are nice, I just keep going back to Schecter. To each their own I guess. We all have our preferences and styles of music we play. Just throwing that out there. 🙂 One day I may find an ESP that I like. If it catches my eye and I like the feel, you bet I'm getting it.
