I love the early Bullet stuff. But I also love the honest reaction. I appreciate that as opposed to people acting like every song they hear is the best song ever.
I really liked the sound of metal as a kid/teenager but couldn't stand the screams. First metal I heard was Metallica, first metal I fell in love with was Bullet for My Valentine. His voice is beautiful and the emphasis on riffs made this band gold to me. Props to you for giving it a fair shot! I was surprised you liked Tears don't Fall (14:43) because it's one of their more pop-ish imo. Btw you were spot on about their influences. The band members are fans of Metallica and Panthera.
If you haven’t done it yet, I’d recommend listening to All That Remains: The Fall of Ideals. Fantastic album front to back. They tapered off with their later stuff, but damn was that a great first album. And Phil is cool. Met him way back in like 2008. He was just outside smoking a cig after the show and we talked to him.
3:00 Not a pedal, just a whammy bar on a Jackson guitar with a tube screamer. Nobody listens to this album for sterling or deep lyrics, it’s about the dual leads and drums. This album is the best they’ve done in my opinion. The went much more standard-song structure after this and it got old, really fast. Also, 25:40 Not a wah, it’s harmonics in drop C on E. It makes a really nice lower harmonic sound, especially if you have a decent set of pickups and use thicker gauge strings.
They used custom shop Gibsons in the studio plugged into massive 5150s and mesas. And i agree this album is a guitar players playground. Fun riffs and solos. The man can barely sing lol
There is so much awesome music out there, yet many of us won't even give some bands a chance because we can be very stubborn. This exactly the same way that I got into this band. I put this CD in my car when not long after the album came out. I heard ''Tears Don't Fall'' and I just said, ''This is cool. I'll buy the album.'' I had an hour long drive back home and I listened to this whole album cranked super loud and I was like losing my mind with each song. It was quite the experience. 20 years later and I still listen to this album. You also have to remember that hearing this band for the first time in 2024 is extremely different than listening to it back when it came out. This was revolutionary when it came out, yet it still stands up to the metal of today. We went from bland nu-metal to metalcore. They are a humble bunch of dudes and incredible musicians. They have been working hard for over 20 years and they have earned the respect they get, believe me. See them live if you ever have a chance. You might be blown away.
You did the correct thing in listening to the studio of version of Tear's Don't Fall that many reactors unfortunately don't (the music video is a decently chopped/edited version). The Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow video you watched is also slightly cut...but only the 1st half of the 1st verse is cut. The studio version comes in with screaming vocals, where as the music video version here begins with the 2nd half of the verse with the clean singing. (I always found this choice weird as it's a short song anyway & it's literally half a verse & there's no reason for it to be censored, lyrically speaking)
I'd been listening to rock/metal from my mum (glam rock and radio stuff like linkin park) but BFMV and slipknot were the first "heavy" bands I ever discovered for myself and my mind was blown but the deeper I got into metal I soon grew out of BFMV for whatever reason despite being fantastic musicians
1:00 - Intro 3:19 - Her Voice Resides 9:50 - 4 Words (To Choke Upon) 14:43 - Tears Don’t Fall 20:41 - Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow (What Can I Do) 24:28 - Hit the Floor 28:01 - All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me) 31:45 - Room 409 35:50 - The Poison 40:09 - 10 Years Today 44:04 - Cries in Vain 48:00 - Spit You Out 52:05 - The End Note for OP: LOVED the reaction dude! You’ve GOTTA do more popular albums so you can get more people to ur channel - we need more HONEST reactors who are fully willingly to express hate for an album, while also being willing to keep an open mind and give critiques and express their own unique opinions. Just keeping being yourself, don’t be scared to offend people, that’s the fun part 😭
More popular albums will get him more followers but don’t expect that for long after cause all the older music reactors that got big have become like every other big RUclipsr does and seem like husks when reacting. I say stick with the “obscure” stuff.
Long ahh comment incoming. Honestly, about 5 minutes in and I was ready to dislike the video and leave. But as a reactor, I want viewers to give me the same courtesy so I stuck around and I'm glad I did. Bullet is my absolute favorite band and this is my favorite album of all time. So it was difficult to accept your critiques but basically everything you said was fair. It was honestly magical watching you in the first half of the video struggle to allow yourself to enjoy the music because you went into it with an opinion but eventually you let it in and I loved to see it. I had never heard anyone point out their Nu Metal influences so I'm so glad you did. I love how basically every time a guitar solo comes you hit the vape to cope lmao 36:49 Brixton! Really happy you appreciated the song writing of Cries In Vain, easily one of their most underrated songs and my favorites. Most people feel the same about wanting more breakdowns from Bullet because when they do them it's sick but they don't do them often. I suggest doing a reaction to their latest self titled album for more breakdowns!!! Do Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold as well, trust me. I appreciate your opinion man, hmu if you wanna have a chat
Finn Mickenty has a great video on his channel about BFMV. He talks about how they were basically a metalcore emo band at the beginning of their careers, you should check it out. But you also should react to Scream Aim Fire because that album is perfect
My question really is how you decide what you like or not? I watched a video where you say you like screams, you like heavy guitar riffs, speed and death metal. This is not death metal obviously but, it has screams, heavy guitar riffs, speed everything, so. How do you decide if you like a band or not? Me, personally, can't stand heavy metal, grindcore, black metal but I have my reasons. Heavy metal is too old for me, I can't stand the old mixing sound on bands. I hate grindcore because the screaming is too much and too aggresive, black metal because I don't like the lyrics. So, wondering why you don't like a band that has everything you always say you love in a band. Is just a question, not any kind of attack. Everyone can like whatever they like. I recommend As I Lay Dying (Shaped by Fire) and August Burns Red (Constellations)
As I lay dying is a good recommendation but NOT shaped by fire. It's by far there most generic sounding album. I think SAS or FWC would be better recommendations imo
@@willneilson Yeah, I just thought he would like their modern sound rather than the old post-hardcore/metalcore stuff. Constellations though, that album sounds like it was released yesterday. So good.
I watched this reaction fully from one end to the other and I enjoyed it more than I expected. You earned my subscription for sure. After watching this all I have a good idea of what you are looking for. Since you took the time to give this band a chance and stated your desire to dive into metalcore, I'll take a few minutes to help guide you along. First off, stay FAR away from Avenged Sevenfold. I can't stand them! Aside from them, metalcore is such a great genre of music. Here are the albums I think you might enjoy: 1. Killswitch Engage: Alive or Just Breathing (2002) 2. Architects: All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us (2016) 3. All That Remains: The Fall of Ideals (2006) 4. Trivium - Ascendancy (2004) 5. Heaven Shall Burn: The Iconoclast (Part 1: The Final Resistance) (2008) 6. Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache (2004) I hope you give these band a listen, and I hope you can find what you are looking for. I'll be keeping an eye out for your reactions for these bands for sure.
I love the early Bullet stuff. But I also love the honest reaction. I appreciate that as opposed to people acting like every song they hear is the best song ever.
funny you called the poison "brocore" while being an emmure fan.
got a good point there 😅
Your speech before 4 words to choke upon is funny because the song is basically about that hahaha ha. Love it
I really liked the sound of metal as a kid/teenager but couldn't stand the screams. First metal I heard was Metallica, first metal I fell in love with was Bullet for My Valentine. His voice is beautiful and the emphasis on riffs made this band gold to me.

Fall of ideals was their 3rd album
Phenomenal album
Thanks for taking the time and for your honest reaction my brother!
Scream Aim Fire is their best album, imo. And this album was is their second best.
MORE BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE!! (love the vids)
Nice one dude. You need to check out their second album and see which is your preference. Diff in style in a lot of ways
Scream Aim Fire is their best work, imo. This is their second best, though.
They only sound like this for this album hahah. I like their thrashy stuff At least you have reasons. Most people just say "this sucks".
The angry Joe show intro is a band called the human abstract. They're actually pretty good technical metalcore.

My favorite band of all time is Killswitch engage Would love to see you shred them into pieces. 😂
Venue in the live video of The Poison is from their DVD Live at Brixton
this was a DVD after their DEBUT album, was unheard of
Scream! Aim! Fiiiirreee!!!
Not this album tho
you need to listen to killswitch engage! especially their album "as daylight dies" is a metalcore classic
More Bullet for my valentine

Still hoping for a Motionless In White album reaction! Can’t wait for whatever album it is.
No Hand Of Blood is CRAZY
its not on the poison album so no, not rlly that crazy
@@BigDaddyTyHDit is on the digipack
@BigDaddyTyHD there's a few versions of The Poison. Some have Hand of Blood, some have Spit You Out, and some have both
Why
Man it's blowing my mind right now, how can this even be possible to skip the best track of this damn album
Listen to early Atreyu.. like the curse.. or a death grip on yesterday
I would really love to hear what you think about Killswitch Engage. Particularly the albums The End of Heartache, and As Daylight Dies.

Yeah, I’m sick of people acting like every song they hear is UNBELIEVABLE. Haha
Please do more reaction like bullet for my valentine _ Bring me the horizon _ deftones
how can you hate metalcore, what!
DO TRIVIUM
Ascendancy or Shogun
Or listen to bullets next album scream aim fire.
Check out dissection - storm of the lights bane
Best blackened death there is
Also sorry about the spam but the video versions of the songs have most of the screaming cut out which imo ruins the songs
This guy's so cool.... shits on them a bunch then says he loves Emmure lol boy oh boy
that's funny so funny i thought the same thing i was like wait
guy thinks hes cool cus he listens to heavier metal than metalcore lmao, Like you can enjoy heavy ass metal sub genres and still like metalcore
Their next album Scream Aim Fire is quite a bit harder. Less emo, harder songs, much harder sound. It's peak BFMV for me. This was hella good RUclips.
Meh The Poison isn’t enough either. The songs are also imo just better. Scream Aim Fire is just higher quality since it’s not their debut album.

Nah anything with Craig is just better even Chemical Warfare.
