Thank you so much for react to Eternal blue album ! Thanks for reminded me how good Spiritbox really is ! Please react to their EP Rotoscore (3 songs) what came out after this album. And then please react to their last EP Fear of fear (6 songs)
Their latest album is great. They also have Josh Gilbert on bass(former As I Lay Dying). So he does backing vocals. And I hope with some future song they'll have more of his vocals.
Spiritbox explores many directions in their music, including EDM and Hip Hop collaborations. However, I really enjoy the material they released at the beginning of their career, such as "The Mara Effect," which leans more towards the progressive side. If you like their Deftones-inspired sound mixed with aggressiveness, you might want to listen to Loathe, a band they toured with alongside Architects. "I Let It In And It Took Everything" is the name of their album, "Screaming" and "Is It Really You?" are my favs. Sleep Token did a cover of "Is It Really You?" which I don't like. Obviously, Jinjer also comes to mind, but you probably already are familiar with them. They are often compared but in reality they both have a very distinctive style. I think I like Jinjer more. Except for maybe their very first one, all Jinjer albums are interesting to see their evolution.
This video was right below another video titled why is everyone Into spiritbox now. Doesn't matter who you are or what you do...once your successful the haters come out .
I have been following Mike since Fall In Archaea and Courtney since Unicron. They are truly 2 of the most talented singer/songwriters I have seen within any genre. The fact they write the music they want to and not try to please everyone else is how they became so successful. Ironically their success is what triggered this hate from these "Metal Elitists" that have been plaguing the scene for years
Yes, there is a whole story behind Constance. It was a mix of Courtney the lead singer of SB. Not being able to attend her grandmother's funeral because of the covid lockdowns. I also believe one of the producers(?) of the video was dealing with their grandmother who had dementia or alzheimers.
Spiritbox and Sleep Token among a couple others are out here trying to push metal forward incorporating elements from other genres into metal music and doing it phenomenally, while the old metal elitists are out here ceying behind their keyboards lol. Grow up y'all, i know not everyone has the same taste or listen to multiple types of genres but they are bringing in more fans to metal who could get into the more traditional sounds as well. Thanks for the reaction.
Nowadays there are many Japanese metal bands and individual singers mixing metal with other genres, and they are achieving success and are already actively promoting in the world. This is the right direction, traditions can no longer surprise anyone
The singer and the guitarist(music writer) are married and both used to be in Iwrestledabearonce. Post grindcore band. Worth checking out too. I prefer spiritbox’s releases prior to this album. But this album is still good. Some of their newer stuff is good too.
Man, the people that compare them to Evanescence probably haven't even heard their music. All they know is that it's a succesful band with a female vocalist. Sure, you can hear it in some of the vocal tonalities. But the similarities ends there. Spiritbox is heavier, djentier and experiment with electronic music. They've got their own sound for sure.
At first: “I don’t really know about Spiritbox, I don’t listen to them.” Then: “I’m following this band on tour!” 😂😂😂 This was a great reaction. Luv Spiritbox
They are not extremely marketed, they rose to fame during lockdown, just because they were releasing cool and original music. Some of their successfull music videos were diy and low budget. Merch and music were always top-notch
Hope to see more black metal reactions from you. Seen people suggest Transilvanian Hunger by Darkthrone, but I would be waaay more interested to hear your thoughts on A Blaze in the Northern Sky, the first of what people call the 'unholy trilogy'. That album is very diverse in sound pallate and perfect for an interesting 'death metal fan reacts' type video
there is probably a lot more to note about blaze than th, but after listening to the trinity countless times, i've found that blaze (which used to be my favorite) is now my least favorite, and th (which used to be my least fav) is the best of the 3. blaze is good, i like how each songs starts and ends with guitar feedback, but i think it has poor replay value, and is about 45% death metal played with black metal tone. -it has cool moments like the acoustic in shadow of the horns, the corny band callouts "Nocturno culto!", or "this is the true face of evil", funeral moon is pretty good, but the riffs somewhere along the line get recycled and lazy. at least it's a full black metal album, and natassja is a great song. transilvanian hunger on the other hand is peak minimalism and tonality, and is also the most consistently good record. it completely blew my mind about what i thought black metal could sound like. i love how culto sounds different in every song, as if each story is a completely different character, experiencing their own story of black metal history. it has the highest atmosphere, replay value, and # of banger tracks. the way it transitions effortlessly from fantasy (graven takenheimens, transilvanian), to realistic winter survivalism/cozy & lonely atmosphere (mjód hall, dype skogen), to the occult (skald au, flittermice) makes it the most trve kvlt album by far.
@@blunderless Transilvanian Hunger is one of my favorite albums ever. It's an album that has a special otherworldly quality to it which only a few other bands/musicians have been able to conjure. When people say they've had spiritual experiences listening to it, I believe them. It feels like there's some sort of essence buried in those recordings, and as you said -- on a musical level, it's a MASTER CLASS in subtlety and minimalism. Blaze is the Northern Sky is my 2nd favorite in the trilogy, but I do not rank it among my all-time favorites. Though, on the topic of replay value, Kathaarian Life Code is definitely in my 50 most replayed black metal songs due to its sheer heaviness. I am yet to come across a black metal song more stomping and massive Funeral Moon is the real outlier imo, and though it's buzzing guitar tone, menacing bass, great lyrics, and incredible drums are still captivate me, there isn't enough to the songs to keep me coming back. Even Summer & Natassja fell out of rotation for me, and I don't come back to any songs from that album.
Their sudden rise also comes with the sudden hate. Is what it is. People who've never listened to their discography or even this album just hate the band by association with sleep token who get a lot more hate.
ive only ever listened to their singles and thought they were pretty middle of the road. i saw this vid pop up and i was like fk it lets do it. tbh like songs 3-6 kind of sold me on them lol. it was fun. liked and subbed. GL on your channel. i can tell you know whats up, with all the bands you said it reminded u of
I don't hate Spiritbox in any way to preface this but when I hear the first 10-15 seconds of a song I can predict where it's going. Maybe sort of samey, at least most of the time. It's good song writing, talented musicians and the vocalist is great. I just want something different at this point from the genre in general and they could totally deliver but I'm still waiting.
@@Ivanmckt the Singles Collection EP too. Bleach Bath and Belcarra are both quite unpredictable. And there's also the live version of The Mara Effect.
You can’t be serious? Who gives a fuck? People are insanely sensitive these days. Our fore fathers literally died on the beaches of Normandy and you asshats think some hurtful words matter. Smh
I don't hate them, just think they're overrated. Majority of the songs are clean singing with some "screaming" and some heavy riffs. Most of the sound has been done before. Currently Tatiana from Jinjer does a better job vocally. The Agonist from back in 04 was pulling these same vocals.
Why and what hate? They market themselves btw. What comparison with Evanescence or Nightwish? Both bands I can only bear 1 minute listening cos for me it's ugly, pretentious, pompous, self-indulgent. So there is no similarity. Why Sleep Token? There are some similarities, while Sb is older than ST and the latter has more soulish singing with emphasis on vocals in the pieces Vessel composes. Djenty sounds are in both, while Djent has been coined by Meshuggah a long time ago. The swifty comparison is funny because I have heard only one TS song in my lifetime here on YT (reactor) and won't do any more avoiding bore out. Thank you for this interesting approach of reaction videos. Bands shouldn't be compared because they are all their own. Your closing remark during circle w/m on future listening of Evanescence 😂😮🎉

I personally don't know anyone that doesn't like them. I think their great. Also everyone has their own music taste. If you don't like them. Move on
My favorite metal band ! Thanks for doing video about them
With popularity comes haters. Happens to literally every band that blows up.

Fear of fear ep from Spiritbox is their most recent and its very good as well.

Don’t apologies for liking or disliking anything. Elitists have ruined the metal scene for everyone for long enough.
Agree👍
Spiritbox is fantastic.
no one hates spiritbox

You gotta do the EP they released last November. It's called The Fear of Fear.
Can you react to the Singles EP from Spiribox?
And also they are underrated in terms of how lyrical they are
As for old school hardcore. Vision of Dissorder is where it’s at.
What! Hate Spiritbox? They are fucking brilliant!

Also the movie you were thinking of is Midsommar
