could you possibly show how the other shipping label prints out ? the one through etsy ? and how you package those ?

Hi! It basically looks like if you were sending a letter. Your return address is on the top left hand side and the customer's address is in the middle. Itll be horizontal instead of vertical. You would package those in any envelope as long as it's not rigid (you can bend it). Its definitely a cheaper way to ship flat, lightweight products such as decals! Hope this clarifies.

@@jakkudemoff3043 the only rule is that the envelope has to be bendable. You can't use stiff ones

This was a really insightful walkthrough. I've heard mixed reviews from sellers using the flats rates or the etsy tracking. Customers assume it's a USPS tracking number and they get confused and think their package is lost. It sounds like it been working well for you though? :)
Im glad you thought so! I have had some packages stuck in pre-transit or transit using the etsy Letter option but so far all have arrived.

If you're talking about the Letter option, the label is a shipping label so you don't need to add additional postage.

Hi! This is only available for domestic orders. I use this option for domestic and ship with stamps for international orders.

This was so helpful! I have a question though, I tried this a while back but apparently USPS can’t track the number because they’re not the carrier. Is it still safe to drop it in the mailbox? Have you had any problems with this tracking option?
Hi! Yes tracking is through etsy not usps. It's a bit confusing but you can still drop it in the mailbox like regular mail as it is First Class. I've shipped plenty of these and have had no issues.
Starting in January, there's been issues with Etsy's tracking. The majority of my letter envelope orders never update from "pre-transit." I'm trying to find an alternative.

@@thequietonesspeak If a customer buys say 3 different products do they have to pay individual shipping prices or can it be package together to save on shipping costs for them. If it can be bundled how do we set it up?
@@TLukins1 Hi Tracy, they won't get charged extra unless you put an amount in the "Additional item" category. If you have different shipping profiles, they might get charged extra but you can always refund part of their shipping cost.
@@TLukins1 Tip: You can always sign out of your etsy account, go to your etsy shop and pretend you are purchasing multiple items in your shop to see if its charging your customers a lot.

I believe Etsy is the only platform that offers cheap tracking options for letters.
Hi, Great content I have a question, I started selling stickers on Etsy but I got an international order and the shipping cost for that is $15 but I set up $0.95 for Domestic Shipping and the sticker cost it's $4 do I have to cancel this order, or there another way to ship this i really appreciate your help
Hello! This option isn't available for international shipping. You could cancel or ship using an international stamp through the usps website. If you do that I would suggest contacting the customer and making sure they're okay with it because there is no tracking with stamps.

so , there are two way of doing shipping letter with tracking right?
you can purchase a shipping label with tracking for 53 cents through etsy if its within the U.S. or you can ship it using a stamp and writing out the address.
I’m a little lost with this. I understand the non tracking part of the shipping cost but when you add the upgrade, how will you know it’s with tracking and how much it costs for the tracking?
When someone choses the upgrade, it'll show up on the order. From there you can purchase a label through Etsy using the Letter option. Under 1oz is 55 cents. 2oz is 75 cents. 3oz is 95 cents.

Hello! How do you package to ship the stickers with tracking? Like for the tracking it’s still a shipping label, and that goes on the envelope?
I ship my stickers in envelopes. Tracking for that cost requires that the package/envelope be 0.25in thin.
Okay, how to print the shipping labels? It is directly onto the envelope? I’m struggling figuring it out.
@@lilliandavis8470 you can print on labels like you would any other label. It really doesn't matter
@@lilliandavis8470 I was confused about this also because a shipping label won't fit on a normal envelope. I just tell my shoppers I don't provide tracking and use normal stamps. I wish there was a cheaper and better way to provide tracking.
@@emcs6466 I figured it out actually, so I print the labels using my regular printer and cut them to fit my envelopes. It’s actually cheaper than stamps also.
Do you ship international? And how? I only ship stickers with a regular letter envelope (with the help of your video!) but have no idea how to set it up for international
I use to but not anymore. You can't ship international using the First class with tracking option. You would have to use stamps for international.
But there's no way to add tracking to a stamped envelope internationally.?):

Hello! I did this 2 days ago for the 1st time with 3 orders. 2 are showing in transit but nothing else and 1 hasn't even been scanned. Obviously USPS can't help it's not their tracking #. I'm assuming the 1 order is lost at this point.
Hello! I've had a couple orders still showing as "in transit" but they all arrived. Also you should give it more time. 2 days isn't enough time to be worried that they're lost. Especially with how USPS is struggling right now. I've had regular orders take a week to update to "in transit". Dont stress! They're still moving.

Hi everyone! I forgot to mention, you cant use the Letter option with rigid envelopes. They have to be flexible envelopes, otherwise USPS will send it back.
Can we use bubble mailers for non trackable shipping?
@@MarkdishaDesigns if you mean stamps, I believe so! I've gotten a few packages that way. I would double-check with USPS though.

Yes, that would be First Class since you would be using First Class mail
Etsy doesnt let you leave the "Mail Class" blank. It wants you to choose something. What do you choose?
It would be First Class if using the Letter tracking option
I have a question, it may be confusing.. So if I were to do the 0.55 cent shipping fee with out tracking which is using the postage stamp. Would Etsy still need like tracking number to send to the customer? even though I'm doing the postage stamp. Hopefully this isn't confusing..
Hi, I believe etsy requires tracking for any order over $10, dont quote me on that lol but if you ship anything under 1oz it should only cost you 55 cents to ship with tracking under the Letter option if shipping within the U.S.

I watched the video and follow it. Thank unfortunately It won’t give me the 55 cents option because It says letter is not available for PO Box addresses. I’m not sure why? I had to pay Over $3. That sucks

If you do it like I did, then yes. Since posting this video I've switched to shipping everything with tracking.

Are you in the US? Is the delivery address in the US? This option is only available in the US.

I think it's because etsy has required tracking on all orders now. I would recommend just using the Letter option as your default shipping method. It's currently 53 cents for 1 ounce.

Fantastic Etsy shipping idea, but please don't put background music in your videos when your talking about things. It makes it so hard to hear you. If I turn up the volum to hear you speak the music goes up.

@@hallieholmes3219 I just checked and yeah I think its because Etsy is now requiring tracking for every order so First Class is the default and can't be used as an upgrade. I posted this video before etsy made that a requirement. You can just ship things out using the Letter option, its 53 cents and includes tracking.

@@hallieholmes3219 under "Standard Shipping" chose "First Class" mail and put it in how much you would charge as a fixed price (53 cents + cost of shipping supplies). @6:41 shows you how to purchase a label with the "Letter" option thats 53 cents.
really confused about it....even when you choose letter in the packaging they will get a tracking...i am trying to understand why you said there is no tracking on the ".95" option
Since i posted this, etsy has now required everyone to ship with tracking so you can no longer use a stamped envelope option. I use to ship stickers using a stamp and just marking the order complete. That's why I said that option had no tracking
@@thequietonesspeak is this still the case for you? For marking orders complete, I’ve been able to select “USPS” and didn’t have to provide tracking info before marking as shipped. It made me select a reason for no tracking, but still was able to do it.
Have you experienced the issue with Etsy's tracking not updating from "pre-transit" lately? Many of my letter envelope orders are not updating from pre-transit. I've had customers ask where their stickers are. I even called Etsy and they said there wasn't anything they could do about it. 😕
Omg yes! It's been very frustrating. Idk what's going on with that. Thankfully I haven't had any customers ask about it but I hope it resolves itself soon.
My brain hurts! So basically I just need to ship as a Letter, keep the weight 1oz and Etsy will give me their Tracking? How did I not realize this, so easy!
Just make sure the "height" is set to 0.25 and I believe you can go up to 3oz
Sorry but this could have been a really informative video but sadly I was dizzied by the swirling pointer and constant uneeded scrolling that took away from the audio. A lot of folks could benefit from the information if it was re-edited wit less distraction and repetition.
