nope im still on my 2015 one and i haunt upgrade but its just snappy and fine for me...Also i would find it hard to leave mac since i just LOVE the OS even though I've used windows for most of my life.

Actually that's way too low for a channel with this high a content quality. I have no idea why the sub count is so low, he's literally the best laptop reviewer I've seen on RUclips (better than Linus, even better than Jonathan).
Ah man, these are all the laptops I have been eyeing like a hawk for months. For me it was between the MSI GS63 and the Razer Blade. Great video buddy!
Looked at the MSI too. Checked it out at best buy, pretty durable feel. However, I read that a lot of people were getting 2 -3hr battery life, so am choosing between aero and razer blade.
PartnersInCrimeGFX I mean, if I could, I'd immediately go for the blade due to its design. There's no competition. The XPS refresh is also another great one I'm waiting for 👌
Xps 15 leaked it's same design with gtx 1050 and i7 7700hq which is 200mhz faster, gtx 1050 is only slightly faster than gtx 960m if you could get a deal on xps 15 previous year, you can go for that.
Dave says in this review it has unquestionably the best keyboard, trackpad, speakers, CPU performance, and build quality, and brightest display (of second highest accuracy). Which are generally the most important aspects of a laptop. But a shitty price and battery life compared to last year's, and at the top of the line AMD"s GPU only reaches what Nvidia was doing a year ago, which is very weak compared to the 1060. So like nuance.
"Dave says in this review it has unquestionably the best keyboard, trackpad, speakers, CPU performance, and build quality, and brightest display (of second highest accuracy)." ... and you believe it. :D Built quality is fit and finish. thank you very much for your videos dave. I bought the xps 15 mainly for video editing and i couldnt be happier. The review you did back then really convinced me

I Finn my complaints with mine would also be the hinge, it now makes a clicking noise on the left side when I move it. also it makes that annoying coil whine sound.
Great vid Dave! Your quality is only getting better, amazing work. Maybe think about doing a 2016 Ultrabook video? Like the ones that you didn't bring in this video for not being powerful enough.
I watch a ton of reviewers about phones and pcs but yours are the most relaxing and impartial, rarely a clear winner but always giving the pros and cons and leaving it up in the air which I can appreciate. Definitely subbing

Also the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book use dual core CPU, which place them more against MacBook Pro 13 inches.
I love his videos, but I partially agree with "A dude" here... Dismissing the Surface Book as a "college" product is inaccurate, specially since the laptop is marketed towards the professional segment.... If the Surface Pro 4 goes against the MacBook Pro 13... then the Surface Book goes against both the 13 and the 15 as an in-betweener. I recently got a first gen Surface Book, i7, 16, 512, dGPU and I am a professional creative, a Mechanical Engineer. I considered options like the ones on this video (Dell XPS, Asus UX501, etc) but ultimately decided for the less powered Surface Book because my use would required better mobility. I use it with CAD and Industrial 3D design software and even though it is a bit under-powered for large assemblies, the versatility more than makes up in my case. Performance is great, battery life is also great for what I do... Maybe the Surface Book would not fit in this video, but it definitely would have fit in the MacBook Pro 13 / Razer Stealth / XPS 13 comparison from weeks ago.....
Trinajskaa did we watch the same video? The MacBook beat all of the other laptops in every aspect except graphics. It had the best cpu, speakers, build quality, ssd, etc.
Problem is if he picked all of the pc laptops at $3,000 and over price range sure then I guarantee you would have the light functions = or better while being stupidly better on processing power. The fact that units close to 1/3 of the costs are so close to this model is ridiculous.
Your Videos are ridicioulusly well made, designed and thought-trough. The Backgrounds, angles, color grading, even your clothing are on Point! Also Amazing How all the laptops you open the lid are exactly in the Same Spot Every Time! It Must take you forever to finish your videos! Keep it up man! Most quality tech Channel in the world Right now!!! Cheers
Hello dave, nice video as always I have a question, so for my birthday, My father told me to choose between two Dell laptops, 1st has i7 CPU and 8Gb ram the 2nd has i5 CPU and 16 GB ram, I' so confused whether to choose the one with the best CPU to the one with the most RAM, can you advise me? as for the kind of stuff I use my laptop for is mostly video editing, so what laptop would provide me the best working quality in my editing?thanks in advance
Old ass technology still has the best CPU (4:28), battery life (8hr vs nearest 6.5hr), speakers (besides the 2016 MBP), and trackpad (in most people's opinion better than the 2016, 2016 is just too big). You can get one of these for $1300 used these days without giving fucking apple a cent.
lasse danielsen NO, you get good battery by being intelligent and using power efficient CPUs and GPUs and a power efficient OS. Putting a high end GPU on a laptop makes only sense if you just simply dont give a crap about battery performance. Otherwise you will end up building a BRICK for a laptop in order to deliver on both ends.
Haters incoming, but to be honest there is not one single manufaturer that can keep up with the build quality of a macbook. No, not a single one. Apple ist just perfect in things like design and unique solutions (speaker f.e.) even tho they are fucking useless when it comes to things like gaming other than only editing or some shit like that.
Because people are dumb as fuck. Everyone thinks that a laptop with such a high price (max spec MBP 4k+$) must have the top notch high end specs such as a 1060-1080 and all that shit, but they do not realize that some people do not want to game, also macbooks with max specs have one of the best editing and rendering times out there one the market due to the fact that it uses Apple OS and not poorly optimized windows.
Amen. Unfortunately, nothing comes close to Apple, it's not even a fair comparison. Plus the OS is way superior. Yes, spec numbers are fine, but so are perfectly built computers that just work really, really well. I'm a gamer even and I wouldn't switch.
Why don't you add in the Alienware 15 r3 into the mix when you do these types of Videos, i just got one and i want to know how they really compare to eachtoher when put up to the test. Btw: my aloenware cost about the same as the 2016 macbook pro, but had a gtx 1060, 32 gb of ram, a 4k ultra hd screen, lgb keyboard and an i7 6700 k cpu inside
Mate your videos are amazing surprised how your channel hasnt sky rocketed, good videos with good quality and effort in your vids im glad im a subscriser to u bro
Honestly, and this might seem like not buying a car because it doesn't have a cup holder, I passed on the XPS entirely because of the location of the webcam. I may be shallow but if I'm doing a skype session or even an interview that seems like an awful awful angle. Would've rathered they just add a half inch to the top bezel and put the camera up there, they'd still have the infinity edge display in a fashion similar to the galaxy edge
Man who the hell checks if that battery is 99Wh or 110Wh? As long as there is no bomb or weed inside your laptop, it is totally fine. Lol P.S: I dont know what'sup in the US tho.
Just subbed. You're one of the more honest reviewers out there. I'm somebody who don't care about brands cause I use technology to make money. I'm currently writing Android Apps cause it's easier to deploy but would probably need a MacBook for when I start writing Apps for IOS. What model MacBook (Air or Pro) would be good for under $800? And I'm not switching, I'm simply adding. I'm too much of a tinkerer to settle on one system.
Greetings and thank you for your not just helpful video regarding laptop comparison, but I also liked your understated & un-rushed delivery..accompanied with gentle/sensible musical background which did not intrude. Cheers!
Dave, I just wanted to comment here, that after shopping the range of gaming/gaming capable film editing laptops, they all suck for one reason or another, with my current Sony machine (I know they're out of the biz) weighing 4.48 pounds with a nice small brick, a slot loading Bluray player, a 3rd gen i7 quad and 2gig nVidia 640LE which I can still rip Crysis 3 on high with, and further it has a hardware switch to turn off the nVidia card, not seen anymore. I say respectfully, ALL the rest have one lousy drawback or another, with the Alienware alone having Optimus for a decent 5 hour battery, but weighing 7.6lbs without the HUGE brick (and no disc drive), and the only other likable option the Dell XPS 15 with a now lame card but passable, but guess what? If you want an affordable platter drive with my minimum 2T AND the i7 6700 you cannot do it, even though there is a space for it, blowing the whole deal (and making Dell suck for the first time to me, and Dell was my first laptop which I loved). The rest suck so bad they are not worth mention, such as the MSI with a screen that looks like dim poop and a keyboard that gets hot (but the Stealth is a great size laptop) but also the keyboard gets hot and fans noisy. My Sony 15" always has a cool keyboard under intense use, and always nice and quiet, NEVER hear it. I am WAITING to buy this season. - Richard Bruce
*The new XPS15 2017 (model #9560) presented at CES:* - i7/7700HQ Kaby Lake (vs. Skylake on the MBP15) -32 gigs of RAM (vs. 16 NON-UPGRADABLE on the MBP15) - NVidia 1050 (or 1050ti specs not finalized... vs pathetic AMD 460 with sucky performance) - 4K Igzo multi-touch panel with Infinity Display (vs. non-4K with huge bezels) - Samsung 960 m.2 NVMe SSD (vs. same) - Room for an additional 2.5" SSD (or drive, but why bother, right?) - Smaller footprint than MBP15 (due to Infinity Display). Not heavier than MBP. - Built-in SD reader All of that for $1500 less than the MBP!!This is a *DREAM COME TRUE for 4K editing on the go!!* *IT TOTALLY OBLITERATES THE MBP!!*
Wtf. Best laptops to buy other than the Macbook Pro. So the Macbook Pro is better in almost all these categories. Wtf. Did u consider cost as a category?
I have a variant of the Asus UX501 and love it...went with a matte, non-touch screen, 4GB DDR5 VRAM, 16GB RAM, and dual 128GB SSD/1TB spinning drive over the usual "VW" configuration. Apparently, this setup ("V") isn't available in NA...I picked it up near 光華 in Taipei. Love it.
There's a reason why Macbooks are the best laptops in the market today. They have undisputedly the best build quality and attention to detail. If you looked at the video you'd notice that only the Macbooks plus the Razer Blade can be opened with one hand, all the other Windows laptops can't. It has a great screen (the brightest one) even though it isn't as colour accurate. Also, looking at even the inside of the laptops, the Macbooks look beautiful. Everything is put so well in together that it's so pleasing to the eye. For Windows laptops, the insides look ugly with all the different colour cables and green motherboards. The Macbooks also have the best trackpads and speakers, quietest fans, as well as the most powerful CPU's. It has the best battery life of all these laptops. Yes, Macbooks aren't perfect (the ports omg) but there's a reason why Apple charges a premium for them.
Dan Cho Are you seriously defending Apple and saying that the Macbooks are the best laptops just for the looks? For tech, performance and optimization matter more than 90%. When you're playing a game/rendering a video, you're not going to care about how good it looks.
the issue I have with the new Mac book is that I could buy a MSI gs43 phantom pro and build a desktop with an i7 1700k with GTX 1080 SLI... and the MSI gs43 is almost the same as the MacBook and has a better graphics card. the only thing I miss out on is the "premium quality"
CasuAl Pro funny you mention performance and optimization, since Macbook are better than Windows at that too. Have you tried rendering a video in Final Cut Pro? It does wonders. The only thing Windows does better that you mentioned is gaming, but then again, Macs are not meant for gaming.
***** Mac OS is better optimized, but as someone who works in a technical field, they don't support 80% of the software I have to use. And they cost so much for for lower specs. The only reason you don't notice the performance difference is because as you said Mac OS is optimized extremely well, but as a result isn't nearly as versitile.
The only laptop I would put on the top of this list is the Asus Rog Strix GL502VS with the 1070 card. It also has the quad core processor and is at a great price. But I know you only based it on the laptops you used. Excellent video as always my friend!
i've a macbook and one of the best things it has is the design, i think that everybody would like to see windows based pc with the same or better build quality than the macbooks and once they started with ultrabooks line you say that you hate that? I was always waiting for the other brands to catch up the style thing and light with aluminum and not plastic, and when they started to do it people start hating. what do you want the old big fat plastic with horrible quality? no competition, and then allow apple to put (even) higher prices. Imagine how much would have cost the new macbook pro without a real alternative in terms on design and performance like the dell xps, surface book, asus zenbook etc. on the market.
Big thing for me with Windows 10 is that it installs updates and restarts for you. I ALWAYS have work open at some point - updates absolutely cannot restart the computer and force me to lose work for the sake of "staying up to date". I realize that it's for security, but I take the time once a month to go through and update everything - it doesn't have to happen the instant the update is pushed. Afaik only the enterprise version of Windows allows for controlling updates - even the Windows 10 Pro version requires that you "trick" windows 10 by setting wifi connections as metered or using registry hacks to set ethernet connections as metered. This is unacceptable and a software practice I refuse to support even more so than mediocre refreshes. As a result I'm stubbornly hanging on to my old Mac until either company fixes the issues I have with them.
@Strix not sure where you guys are getting this problem from. I've had my Windows 10 MSI laptop for over a year. Never has it randomly restarted or made me lose my work. I restart it whenever I want it to restart.
***** Since when?.. The quad-core CPU instantly beats the SB hands down. Unless you're using it for gaming, professional use in rendering projects require strong CPUs, and the MacBooks are way stronger than any other laptop at the moment. Just look at the comparisons to other QUAD core laptops.
It only renders faster because of proprietary software. anyway using a quad core for nominal performance increase isn't worth only having 3 hours of battery life
Hey Dave! Could you make a video on using the xps 15 with the core? would love to know specifics. Or even better, are you planning to review the Akitio Node eGPU? Great video as always, your shots are so precise it's obvious you take a lot of care.
thanks for the video man! Your channel has been helping me a lot with which laptop to buy in US, mainly because most of them are not available in my country!
Love your videos Dave, always a good day when a new one comes out. Hope to see more gaming laptop coverage when such technology and models become available in the near future. Keep it up!
Your videos are like morphine to me bro. You rock. If you could make a behind the scenes video showcasing your lighting and setup to shoot these videos, I would be super happy and learn a lot from that. I am a photographer, I will soon submit to your my laptop setup series too.
I'm a video editor and was looking for Macbook Pro 2016 alternatives (mainly because of the price). I decided to purchase XPS 15 9550 (4K screen) in November. Unfortunately, as of this week, I finally returned it to Dell. There were multiple issues overall (screen problems, audio jack not working properly, etc etc); some were fixable, others not so much. But my main issue was it's compatibility with Premiere Pro. Basically, the interface didn't seem to render properly (e.g. when you expand a panel window to full screen or drag a clip there's a lag). It may seem a bit of minor issue but if you're working in a program all day, 5 days a week, such a bug can become very annoying. Other software - both Adobe and other more standard apps like Excel - also had similar problems. I've spent weeks talking to Dell's tech support but they were unable to solve the problem. I believe the issue was the optimisation process between the internal and the dedicated graphics card but again, there seems to be no fix. I don't think I'm alone with this as I found people posting about the same problem on certain forums. You've mentioned you're a video editor although I'm not sure what's your NLE of choice but if did use XPS 15 and Premiere, did you or anyone else here in this thread have similar problems? Thanks for the review!
Hi Dave, Thanks for the detailed reviews. I picked up the GS63VR Stealth Pro a couple days ago to replace my mid 2012 retina mac pro. Your earlier MSi review helped the decision. I must say it's fantastic. I found it was the best all around for gaming, photo/video editing. I bumped it up to 32gb of ram as after effects loves memory. I chose the 4k version which I find awesome color accuracy; however I do wish it was a little brighter. Thanks again.
Are there any laptops you would suggest instead of the 13" Macbook Pro (2016) ? I'm not exactly looking for a quad core notebook since I have my desktop for that but was hoping you could make a mashup review of them like this one. I've been subbed to your channel for a few months, loving your content and the quick style review!
I use a "Toshiba Satellite c55-c5241," it's got 500gb, and is a 15.6 inch. I got it for schooling and everyday use. I've had it for right around a year and personally, I love it. But I only just realized it had 500gb, and that I can actually play games on it. Pretty excited about that. Merry Christmas and great video. :)
Hey Dave , i really like your contact and you are one of the best reviewer i have came across keep up the good work, and please do a review on Lenovo yoga 910 please
Thank you for all of these videos! They have helped me a lot for deciding whoch Laptop to buy. My budget is about 1000€ and I am looking for a Laptop that can handle Photo and Video editing well. I found a dealer selling the 2015 14" Razer Blade for 1000€, so I think, that's what I am going to go for!
I'm not feeling the 2016 MacBooks. I've switched to Windows laptops for this gen. Anyone else make the switch?
nope im still on my 2015 one and i haunt upgrade but its just snappy and fine for me...Also i would find it hard to leave mac since i just LOVE the OS even though I've used windows for most of my life.
Dave Lee can you please make the best ultrabooks/ portable laptops of 2016?
Dave Lee i want a laptop but i cant afford one
Dave Lee I did

Hi Dave! Could you make a 2019 version of this video? Congratulations on the videos! I appreciate!
I'm waiting for that new XPS 15 that was just leaked recently to arrive. Quad core Kaby lake + a 1050 will make it a winner!
TechAltar When will it be released because I heard about it and I'm waiting on it too
TechAltar no bro 1050 is sucks 1060 is better! 7th intel + 1060 = cheap but win!
xXx_MlgTr1kSh00ter _Xx Some people want battery life, so in that case 1050 is better
I think that it's too small to handle a 1060.
1050 definitely will be a massive improvement over the 960m. If only we can fit a 1060 into it with the same thickness :D

I appreciate Dave a lot. I hope his channel grows a lot.
Wish I could afford any of them lol.
If only i could mix the MacBooks build quality with the razor blade or blade pro
Tech-Talk-Toe Mac You mean quality control? Becauss the build quality of razer is on par with apple imo
you can if your a crazy ass tech lol who eats sleeps an breathes this.

I Finn you will experience the whine soon! I returned my Skylake
Ashveen Sharma lucky you, Dell won't let me return my skylake
Owen Gee speak with customer care! I have found their customer support to be amazing tbh.

Returned my MacBook Pro 15 yesterday..... looking for next replacement, but don't know which one should I buy.
Harry zhang I honestly think a fully speced XPS 15 off eBay would work wonders
Harry zhang Dell XPS 15, Razer Blade, or MSI Stealth Pro are excellent alternatives
last year's model if you had opted for the 2016 model.
Why the hell would you replace a year old laptop?
He's talking about the 2016 model, hence "returned".
Excellent video! I can't still believe that this channel has 300k sub.
Also, Will you ever review the GS43VR?
Those first 5 seconds were smooth !!!!!!!!! Clean editing Dave! Hope you have a merry Christmas and a Happy new year!

true, and the next one start at 0 and somehow
Aaron Wang Still poor Scaling. It makes things look larger than they should.
its funny how the worst laptop is the most expensive.
Trinajskaa Macs are useful for a bunch of things, they are ridiculously expensive though.
Buy apple stuff refurbished. They replace some key things, like the battery, so it's practically new, and you get a new warranty, as well.
Tommy Trillfiger yah they should be cheaper they are more expensive then high end gtx 1080 laptops lol
Cheers
This might be a small thing, but the way you synced the laptops appearing with the music... so smooth
Hello dave, nice video as always
I have a question,
so for my birthday, My father told me to choose between two Dell laptops,
1st has i7 CPU and 8Gb ram
the 2nd has i5 CPU and 16 GB ram,
I' so confused whether
to choose the one with the best CPU to the one with the most RAM, can you advise me?
as for the kind of stuff I use my laptop for is mostly video editing, so what laptop would provide me the best working quality in my editing?thanks in advance
So which one did you get?
Damn no HP Spectre X360?!!?
that's a dual core ultrabook. . completely different class of device
Dave Lee review of the Kaby lake X360 coming at any point?
John Sanchez He made this video as replacements for 15 inch models.
The latest hp spectre x360 is the best ultrabook of the year according to Dave.
He told you why less than one minute into the video.
John Sanchez fuck ultrabooks
My answer: Macbook Pro 2015 refurb
hassan nassar My answers, just dont buy any of it....
Your wallet is the only thing with power to make them change.
ya u r still gonna pay a lot of money for old ass technology and no tb3.
Old ass technology still has the best CPU (4:28), battery life (8hr vs nearest 6.5hr), speakers (besides the 2016 MBP), and trackpad (in most people's opinion better than the 2016, 2016 is just too big). You can get one of these for $1300 used these days without giving fucking apple a cent.
it is easy to get good battery life, if you put shit shit specs inside for example look at the asus vivobook
lasse danielsen NO, you get good battery by being intelligent and using power efficient CPUs and GPUs and a power efficient OS.
Putting a high end GPU on a laptop makes only sense if you just simply dont give a crap about battery performance. Otherwise you will end up building a BRICK for a laptop in order to deliver on both ends.
Your video looks really good. Opening shot with all the machines sitting in grid formation simply popped! Nice work.
I just looked at your subscriber count. That comma moved over since the last time I checked? You've grown really fast, it's awesome!
im getting the new xps 13. looks really good
XdanielZ99 are u happy with it
Haters incoming, but to be honest there is not one single manufaturer that can keep up with the build quality of a macbook. No, not a single one. Apple ist just perfect in things like design and unique solutions (speaker f.e.) even tho they are fucking useless when it comes to things like gaming other than only editing or some shit like that.
Xele Nor well yeah it's not made for gaming so don't understand why everybody is complaining about it having a bit slower processors.
Xele Nor yeah you are right, MacBook can be the best choice for light work. But to be honest I would expect more for such an expensive laptop...
3.8k for a glorified paperweight seems way too much for me.
+GrantGamz because it's double the weight and size of these laptops. It's a different class of laptop
Dave Lee but would you still recommend it to a gamer as myself
try the tornado F5 from eurocom if you want a gaming laptop. 6700k cpu + 1070 :)
Hey Dave, have been following your channel a lot lately. Just wanted to congratulate and thank you for the good work. Keep 'em coming!
I love how you edit your videos, its so minimal and clean. fits my aesthetic taste :D
I just picked up a GS63VR :)
How is it? I'm thinking of getting it
I have his brother... GS60..
Jezza 36 I haven't gotten it yet :3 it hasn't arrived, I guess I should've said "I just ordered one"
Siva R how are you liking it?
OH RIGHT
Quick question if I may? Which one would you recommend for video editing on Premier, iMovie or Final Cut? XPS or MacBook Pro? Thanks
J TheAndroidFreak final cut on mac and premier on windows
Julian Giorgilli Thanks for the feedback. Are you into video editing?
J TheAndroidFreak No he sells goats for a living..
That sarcasm was both a year late and unneeded. If you're gonna be rude, at least do it on time.
I'm disappointed that you omitted the Alienware 13 with oled display. I feel like it's an awesome computer.
it's in there =)
***** sorry😁
nice video..really like your reviews
Mate your videos are amazing surprised how your channel hasnt sky rocketed, good videos with good quality and effort in your vids im glad im a subscriser to u bro
Honestly, and this might seem like not buying a car because it doesn't have a cup holder, I passed on the XPS entirely because of the location of the webcam. I may be shallow but if I'm doing a skype session or even an interview that seems like an awful awful angle.
Would've rathered they just add a half inch to the top bezel and put the camera up there, they'd still have the infinity edge display in a fashion similar to the galaxy edge
Can we get a update please?
PLZZZ
WE NEED MORE THAN 99 WATT HOUR BATTERIES!!!!!!!!
yea, but that's the legal limit you can take on a plane. So you want see higher, until they change that rule.
Princesses Are Awesome then you won't be able to take your laptop to a plane
Princesses Are Awesome i want a 199wh battery
Man who the hell checks if that battery is 99Wh or 110Wh? As long as there is no bomb or weed inside your laptop, it is totally fine. Lol
P.S: I dont know what'sup in the US tho.
Pritish Prayag no one checks carefully, because manufactures are not dumb enough to make them over 99. Lol
*The new XPS15 2017 (model #9560) presented at CES:*
- i7/7700HQ Kaby Lake (vs. Skylake on the MBP15)
-32 gigs of RAM (vs. 16 NON-UPGRADABLE on the MBP15)
- NVidia 1050 (or 1050ti specs not finalized... vs pathetic AMD 460 with sucky performance)
- 4K Igzo multi-touch panel with Infinity Display (vs. non-4K with huge bezels)
- Samsung 960 m.2 NVMe SSD (vs. same)
- Room for an additional 2.5" SSD (or drive, but why bother, right?)
- Smaller footprint than MBP15 (due to Infinity Display). Not heavier than MBP.
- Built-in SD reader
All of that for $1500 less than the MBP!!This is a *DREAM COME TRUE for 4K editing on the go!!*
*IT TOTALLY OBLITERATES THE MBP!!*
WHERE IS THE SURFACE BOOK?
not a quad core cpu
***** Microsoft touts the Surface Book as a direct rival to the Macbook Pro, but you've got a good point. Hopefully the next one will be quad-core.
Donald Trump OK Mr president
really nice overview of various laptops ... and no axe to grind ... I appreciate your openness to different laptop approaches
Already the four first seconds of the video were so dope, damn. Awesome work Dave
2:17 LAKE LOUISE !!!!! :D
Big Neuton I’ve been there lol
Wtf. Best laptops to buy other than the Macbook Pro. So the Macbook Pro is better in almost all these categories. Wtf. Did u consider cost as a category?
"Best laptops to buy instead of a macbook"
literally anything.
Lucian lol nice one !
Been really enjoying your content throughout the year dude - keep it up and roll on 2017
I have a variant of the Asus UX501 and love it...went with a matte, non-touch screen, 4GB DDR5 VRAM, 16GB RAM, and dual 128GB SSD/1TB spinning drive over the usual "VW" configuration. Apparently, this setup ("V") isn't available in NA...I picked it up near 光華 in Taipei. Love it.
xps 15 wins
I don't think so. I'd HIGHLY suggest the Razer Blade for sure.
Prune i just prefer the thin bezels and screen quality of the xps, but the razer is awesome as well
totally agree. Those bezels are phenomenal. I just wasnt all that impressed with the xps when I used it.
It also has 8th gen i7 and DDR4 memory option which -- as example -- the MacBook Pro does not.
lol if i got my macbook for christmas, should i throw it out lmao
TunerCat no way
You do not throw out gifts. Like tf is wrong with you
Sell it
Exactly man, you get it
Throw it out and into my window
Yes, Macbooks aren't perfect (the ports omg) but there's a reason why Apple charges a premium for them.
nah yeah macbooks def have the best overall quality, just not gpu performance, but it's not supposed to so yeah
This is such an awesome video! The editing is amazing! Just look at the intro! CLEAN!
The only laptop I would put on the top of this list is the Asus Rog Strix GL502VS with the 1070 card. It also has the quad core processor and is at a great price. But I know you only based it on the laptops you used. Excellent video as always my friend!

Vishwas Dubey 😀
I hate windows pc that looks like a macbook
David why lol?
Jason Zhou
cause the design is copy or stolen. lot of windows pc looks better than macbook
i've a macbook and one of the best things it has is the design, i think that everybody would like to see windows based pc with the same or better build quality than the macbooks and once they started with ultrabooks line you say that you hate that? I was always waiting for the other brands to catch up the style thing and light with aluminum and not plastic, and when they started to do it people start hating. what do you want the old big fat plastic with horrible quality? no competition, and then allow apple to put (even) higher prices. Imagine how much would have cost the new macbook pro without a real alternative in terms on design and performance like the dell xps, surface book, asus zenbook etc. on the market.
I'm gonna get the MacBook pro. Just because I hate messing around with BS. I need work done properly.
You can do that with Win 10 too. ^^
The new macbook pro is riddled with bugs and crashes. Just search google if you don't believe me.
Nara P I bought it and it was great. I love it
Big thing for me with Windows 10 is that it installs updates and restarts for you.
This is really one of the best tech-review channels on RUclips I've seen so far! Great work Dave!
thumbs down for not including surface book 😒
it's not a quad core cpu
You're an idiot.
Dave Lee still beats the MacBook pro in performance tests
***** Since when?.. The quad-core CPU instantly beats the SB hands down. Unless you're using it for gaming, professional use in rendering projects require strong CPUs, and the MacBooks are way stronger than any other laptop at the moment.
Just look at the comparisons to other QUAD core laptops.
It only renders faster because of proprietary software. anyway using a quad core for nominal performance increase isn't worth only having 3 hours of battery life
Compliments to the production quality of your videos. Informative as well.
Last time I checked Dave got like 100k subs. Now he has like 350k! Grats for that man. Your vids are neat af and the subs are well deserved.
Amazing editing skills bruh!!👌👌👍👍
Love your videos Dave, always a good day when a new one comes out. Hope to see more gaming laptop coverage when such technology and models become available in the near future. Keep it up!
This is an absolute fantastic video man. Love your channel! Keep it up!
Great production value. The video was informative and to the point. Thanks!
Your videos are like morphine to me bro. You rock. If you could make a behind the scenes video showcasing your lighting and setup to shoot these videos, I would be super happy and learn a lot from that. I am a photographer, I will soon submit to your my laptop setup series too.
I love your videos.. theyre so good. Any tips for starting up a RUclips channel?
Thanks for the review!
you make amazing videos dave!! your channel is incredible
I've watched this video like 10 times in the last 2 months but I can't stop clicking on it. I think I'm addicted to your channel
Thanks again.
thanx to your recomendation just picked up xps 9550, I love it, thanx a lot, and Merry Christmas to you!
Your editing is absolutely amazing good job 👏 😊
Are there any laptops you would suggest instead of the 13" Macbook Pro (2016) ?
I'm not exactly looking for a quad core notebook since I have my desktop for that but was hoping you could make a mashup review of them like this one.
I've been subbed to your channel for a few months, loving your content and the quick style review!
Background music 👌🏽 love all your videos!
I just want to say I enjoy your videos very much and I hope you keep up the good work
I use a "Toshiba Satellite c55-c5241," it's got 500gb, and is a 15.6 inch. I got it for schooling and everyday use. I've had it for right around a year and personally, I love it. But I only just realized it had 500gb, and that I can actually play games on it. Pretty excited about that. Merry Christmas and great video. :)
I live the intro to this video !!! Like it was very chill and attention grabbing !
Great work on the comparison! 👍
Thank you for the wallpaper! It's a nice touch
Thank you dave for your very calm and informative videos. I hope you continue reviewing laptops that way. More power and god bless.
That's how a comparison is done! It's been hella nice!
I wasn't too interested in this videos topic. But you produced the video so well, that I still enjoyed watching!
Your videos are awesome. You cover so many things. Keep it up
thank god, been waiting for this vid, nice dave
Hey Dave , i really like your contact and you are one of the best reviewer i have came across keep up the good work, and please do a review on Lenovo yoga 910 please
Laptops aside, I really like the clean editing style your videos have ^^ regardless, great video.
I subscribed because this guy is very calm and informative :)
Beautiful video! Keep up the great work!
Your analysis is amazing. I love how you show the specs of the display. 🖒
