I fell in love with this Gator. These were my first introduction to an Alligator that didn't want to kill and eat people. I just loved watching you and Casper hanging out together. Fast forward a few years and now you're building a new relationship with Big Mac and Bella. I just loved your recent vlog when you were just swimming with them and enjoying your time. Yes! I know! You were also training them. But when Big Mac was just holding your hands with his cute, funny feet, you really got a real kick in that moment 😊. Thankyou for all that you share with us Chris. I know all you "Gator Guys" grew up watching Steve Irwin and I know that he would be really proud of all you've done to show people these are animals are so gorgeous and smart and capable of learning that. You letting people swim with you and Caspar changes one heart❤ at a time. I can't wait to see you doing this with Big Mac!
I love love your videos. 💜💜💜 SO INTRIGUED with your new property. 💜💜💜 Please keep those videos coming! Inquiring minds want to know!!! 💜💜💜The new EV Bike limited edition Himiway is so awesome! 😎😎😎 So glad your work is being appreciated. 😎😎😎 Best of luck with everything moving forward in your new adventure and Gaby is the BOMB.❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
I'm a Brit and I had no idea about the Burmese python invasion in Florida. That's crazy. I love snakes, but in this instance I feel sorry for the gaters... 🐊💜
Thank you algo for gracing me with such cool a channel (floridas wildest is also rad) It's unreal how much of an expert you are man, insanely interesting vids, much respect from the UK 🤘
With the Snakes who have bite injuries but survived, could that not have been a draw? How can you be certain the Snake won instead of the Snake and Gator backing off from each other?
Wow-In the first few seconds, Casper (?) swam up and you kinda nuzzled him, then I noticed his eyes immediately closed in a peaceful way. That speaks volumes for any animal!! For pets, it’s important that they relax, like with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. A nervous or stressed animal is an unhealthy and/or dangerous animal. Unpredictable at best. But the fact he swam up, said “hi”, and closed his eyes and swam on…amazing whatever you’re doing!
Wow that is crazy, it sucks that the pythons have to die and it also sucks that pythons will kill everything in their path. But it's nature. Do you think the whole thing about the python that had 110 eggs they found in Florida? I do know pythons can have quite alot of eggs. I think it's a tie between the gator and the python. Great vlog tonight
Gotta love the species instead of being afraid of it. Snakes here in Mississippi I'll be honest I don't wanna run into them but this is their land so knowledge of the area is better than killing everything you see. With snakes I'm always told they won't attack if you don't aggravate them. I'm told if you walk up to a snake take 2 steps back then turn around and walk away and you'll be fine.
Chris, I love your videos. This one was very educational. Curious, which is larger, the Burmese python or the reticulated python? Is it true that pythons unhinge their jaw and work their body down the prey? I just love watching Casper. He looks so cute floating in his pool with his legs and feet hanging in the water and his toothy grin. He’s so adorable. 🐊
I believe reticulated pythons are the world’s second-largest constrictor, after green anacondas. They’re the largest snake in Asia, or in the ‘old world’, so to speak…I’m pretty sure. The Burmese are close behind the retic’s, with some larger individuals maybe even reaching the similar size/ lengths. And yes-it’s true about the jaw, for many snakes actually. The majority of snake species actually do swallow food larger than their heads/bodies, all the way from tiny smooth green snakes eating worms to anacondas & pythons eating capybara & deer! African egg-eating snakes are about the size of a garter snake, and they swallow bird eggs whole and spit the shell out after; so yes, the jaw can expand!
@@erikm8372 Thanks so much for the information. I’ve seen videos of anaconda grabbing capybara. And also caymans grabbing capybara. Bless their hearts. They have it rough. Our zoological park has a reticulated python. It is massive and has beautiful markings. I don’t have a fear of animals. I respect them and appreciate their power and strength. The only thing I’m terrified of is a wasp. They scare me to death. Everyone thinks I’m crazy because I love dangerous animals but I’m afraid of a small insect. 😂 Have a great evening. Greetings from Tennessee.
The retic is the world's longest, and one of the 3 heaviest. The Burm is usually heavier than the retic, depending on how long each snake is, of course.
It's not unhinge exactly so much as they just don't have the same hinges? They have stretchy ligaments at the back of their skulls, and their bottom jaws do not have bone in the chin. So their bottom jaws are just v different
I don’t know that I agree. Animals shouldn’t be used for entertainment and profit. I’m not sure how I feel if they were truly rescued animals being used solely for educational purposes, especially being brought into schools. The proceeds could be used to take care of other animals in need.❤
During a death roll, is it the force of the thrashing that rips the prey apart, or can they smash it against the bottom when they death roll because their skin is so tough?
Large crocs and gators have to swallow rocks (called gastroliths), scientists believe, perhaps to help with digestion in some manner but also perhaps to help them sink to the bottom of whatever waterways, lakes, ponds, etc they live in.So they must have quite bouyant bods to warrant having to consume rocks,to be able to lower themselves in water!Crazy!🤔😜🤔🤣🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️🐊🐊🐊
Chris, I know you have explained this before and you have a video some where but I couldnt find it. Can you explain why you wear sunglasses and a wetsuit when your in the water with Casper? Thanks and I appreciate what you are doing to educate the public on alligators and crocodiles.
Personally, I wear them if the lighting is bad. Vanity, yes, but I don’t care haha. Or maybe the sun is behind the camera, as that makes better filming in the end.
The suit is there because he spend a lot of time in the water with the alligators so it can become quite cold in there. It isn't there for protection as alligators bite are so strong it woudn't do any difference. He said it in a previous video if I remember well (I can't remember wich one though)
H9w big are the pythons you find alligators in approximately? My Ball python could eat way bigger than I thought . I feed him 2 medium rats .I was always scared to up it to large .
When an alligator is afraid of you how does it act? And do the alligators hold a grudge after you capture them? If so how long does it tale for them to get over it
I think this is a very sad situation. As with the brown tree snake, bufo toad, feral cats, lion fish, this is a problem created solely by humans and unfortunately the animals, be it native or invasive are paying the price. We as humans seem to screw everything up. Thank you for what you guys do to help the animals. I do disagree with one thing and it’s not just you, Chris it’s many in the media. People call the extermination of a healthy animal a euthanasia. It’s definitely not a euthanasia based on the dictionary use of the word. I believe the word euthanasia is used because it’s a more sanitary way to call what’s really being done what it really is which is the K word. I love it that you are man enough to say you don’t know🦎
Chris, there was an episode of swamp people that showed 2 guys find a anaconda in the everglades. Is there anaconda in the everglades or was that just plant for the show? Not a fan of that show, but seen that and it was questionable.
I don’t know that any have ever been documented in the US. Maybe once or twice? But nothing massive. Wouldn’t doubt it though. They’re so big though that we’d start to see them I’d say. Or we’d notice a complete extinction of Florida wildlife from predation! Both invasive and endemic!
They did say that California and Florida would be under water fifty years ago fifty years from then (now), so probably not the best forecasters to listen to.
At some over time point I am covinced that gators will learn to engage pythons and win... all part of the evolution process which affects all animals including us..
They are an invasive species they have to be euthanized, they are wrecking the whole ecosystem down here. They reproduce much to fast to do anything else with them
It's not a death row, it's a death ROLL. Crocodilians, including the alligator, perform a spinning maneuver to subdue and dismember prey. The spinning maneuver, which is referred to as the ;death roll', involves rapid rotation about the longitudinal axis of the body.
gators just simply haven't evolved yet to understand how to defend themselves against a pylon attack in water. They could easily defend themselves on land too if they just laid flat as soon as tge got attacked, which would prevent the python from wrapping around the gator, but this again goes back to lack of being evolved yet when it comes to python attacks.
Why are the pythons captured alive and then handed over to Fish and Game to be euthanized? Seems it would be easier for the python catchers to kill them first and then bag them for transport.
Because if you get rolled, you die. Pretty explanatory. If they got a limb, that is ripped off. If not, you drown. If you aren't specifically prepared for it, it is very lethal.
I fell in love with this Gator. These were my first introduction to an Alligator that didn't want to kill and eat people. I just loved watching you and Casper hanging out together. Very interesting & it still amazes me how you can be in the water with an alligator(Casper) & alone. Stay safe! Thku for sharing😊
I'm rooting for the gators. Damned pythons.
Really the worst vibe an animal can give… always comes from a python 😅
Gators all the way
Why
Not the pythons fault. It’s the humans fault, quite sad.

I think I remember Chris saying that for Gators closing their eyes is just a reflex, not a sign of happiness.
That's an alligator and no pet lol

You make PLENTY of sense 😎💯
Very logical analysis.
You deserve more subs and views keep it up brother! Glad I saw you in a short on Omgitswicks
Since your professional are snakes domesticated or is same as copper?
Love your candor.
Are you still currently only coming down on the weekends?
Both are ambush predators.
Go Gators!!!
Is Casper the best trained alligator you work with?
How do they keep pythons from getting into this enclosure?

Would be awesome so see you and Gaby start your own show!! Like the current Irwin’s!

Full grown alligator. They where first Snakes versatility. Alligator can slow there heart rate. Gator Chris for the win.
I would say this is a size issue. Not sure if the python invaded alligator territory, they would face the wrath of several alligators.
Look at the size of caspers jowls, he is huge, ive never seen that profile of him before. He is handsome... though..
Would the python not be able to constrict blood supply in those 20 minutes, if the alligator were to sink?
1:58 they could also probably eat a human. Definitely a human child.
During a death roll, is it the force of the thrashing that rips the prey apart, or can they smash it against the bottom when they death roll because their skin is so tough?
Whichever one is bigger. If they are the same length, the gator if they are the same weight, the python.
And that's the truth 😂 the damn truth 😂
Chris, I know Casper doesn't love you and he's not tame. Question: Does Casper trust you in a certain amount?
Are there incidents between pythons and humans?
2006?!!
As in other things, size matters.
Not sure if you have already covered this but it seems like Casper is just floating without moving his legs. Can alligators float?
Bruh of course they can they're naturally buoyant.
Why the fuck would an ambush predator need to paddle its legs continuously to be afloat?
Large crocs and gators have to swallow rocks (called gastroliths), scientists believe, perhaps to help with digestion in some manner but also perhaps to help them sink to the bottom of whatever waterways, lakes, ponds, etc they live in.So they must have quite bouyant bods to warrant having to consume rocks,to be able to lower themselves in water!Crazy!🤔😜🤔🤣🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️🐊🐊🐊
I saw Chris cover this subject.
It is the air in their lungs that means they float.
Chris, I know you have explained this before and you have a video some where but I couldnt find it. Can you explain why you wear sunglasses and a wetsuit when your in the water with Casper? Thanks and I appreciate what you are doing to educate the public on alligators and crocodiles.

@@erikm8372 Did I ask you? No, I didnt. So no one cares dude.
Not sure about the sun glasses but he has said that he wears the wetsuit because it gets cold being in the water for hours.
If the pythons are decreasing the mammal population, then it is affecting the alligator's food source, correct? Skinnier gators. 🐊😑
Gators have other food sources than mammals. They eat a lot of fish. They also eat pythons now.
If I jumped in the water with you would he attack me since he doesn’t know me?
Chris, alligator vs. bear? Who wins?
Alligator
Is your suit have layers for protection
The suit is there because he spend a lot of time in the water with the alligators so it can become quite cold in there.
It isn't there for protection as alligators bite are so strong it woudn't do any difference.
He said it in a previous video if I remember well (I can't remember wich one though)
H9w big are the pythons you find alligators in approximately? My Ball python could eat way bigger than I thought . I feed him 2 medium rats .I was always scared to up it to large .

I jus feel like this battle of the titans is redic. Like gators are jus so much bigger and stronger I’ve never understood it.
How is the alligator supposed to swim to the bottom if his legs and arms are stuck
I think this is a very sad situation. Phythons were brought in from the pet trade 🙄️ 🙄️
Nature is cruel, but I think having a formidable opponent is a good thing, they wouldn't be who they are without all that danger.

How did you catch the python without letting that big boy constrict you?

none the less a great video Chris... thank you😊
I’m on the alligators side boo to pythons
So when pythons are caught down there are they all euthanized, or are there organizations that keep them alive and do something with them?
They are an invasive species they have to be euthanized, they are wrecking the whole ecosystem down here. They reproduce much to fast to do anything else with them
All invasive species that are caught will be killed.
Also, due to the size, even if it was to be sent to a rescue place, not many would.
love these vids bro
Can one kill a python or do they have to be caught and euthanized
Why do they call when the alligator rolls called death roll

You've misheard (or autocorrect has changed what you meant) it's a death roll.
Death roll
