It's 2019 but there are still companies holding the passport of employees.
Exactly! To take passport from the labours companies made a form in which they saying that holding passport will cause the chance of missing it... So poor illiterate labours agree with them!

Reporting means loosing job....
Why dont qatar labour firm make aduit or inspection to the companies about the basic salary and about the pay slip........

If3 you report any violation it's means you need to pack up all your things and they immediate send your in our country...
And loosing our job bcos they are not giving NOC and the worst thing's is they gonna make story and make you un case..
So bcos. We are poor and nothing so what we gonna do???

I agree, I went to labor about my salary but they did not do anything, they said it is payment for the NOC. when NOC is supposed to be free.

good to see you there , i came from ethiopia to find a job i spend one year in qatar this the first time for me to came in gcc countries so as i see qatar its very good and safe for everyone ,let me tell you why i say safe whatever you are wherever you work if you are legal don't worry in Qatar ,my wife she knows other saudi and uae and now she is with me in qatar she work house maid and she told me about qatar is safe and more freedom than others totally different so don't say like that like this if you want to get your wright in qatar the only have to be legal , i thank emir of Qatar and for qatar people . I hope Qatar shows to the world a very unique world cup that world never seen before thanks again qatar !

Regarding passports it always happens that poor scared people especially working for families will not say, "that passport is mine, I won't give you". So the problem persists a lot, because no tackling has been done on those people sponsoring and however abusing their maids or workers. To easy to say there is a law but nothing (or very little) is done in order to apply it!

Anyway am in Qatar like 1 year now i work as security before we come we were told the salary to be almost QR2k but now they only give us QR1k when we try to complain they threat us with deportation and they hold our passport

I don’t like one thing here , we are working 9hours per day for Ramadan ....and last 2 weeks of Ramadan we will work 16hour !!! Can u imagine how much hard is it , also when u fasting and also they don’t pay overtime , but the problem is that this company has a strong ties with ministry thy no one can do nothing ...Really I’m disappointed from this , bcs in my country we aren’t all Muslims but when it comes to respect other religion and cultures we do it coz of respect ......👎🏻...Really this should be fix bcs even last EID I was working no off for muslims religion ......Those things are not for Qatar.....

I think UAE is better for labour law
And the official are very active n taking a fast dicission and help the poor laborers those are not getting salarys and taking the strict actions against the company
Qatar must be implement the same rules
For the sake of poor laborers come across the globe
2 years late and Qatar is by far the best country when it comes to labor laws in the Middle East and a lot of that was because the World Cup has put a spotlight on Qatar, we introduced new policies and the government has been punishing companies that don’t follow the new guidelines and procedures. I am happy to see the change in my country but a lot of work still needs to be done.
Hello sir, may i ask regarding the no laws that their will be no need of NOC by 2020..is it applicable to all like if we dont want to finished our contract we can be freely change company or is it only to those who finished their contract?can you answer my question please?
I miss Qatar. Ive worked there for 3 years and all has been fair and good. Of course there some moments of mishaps at work, but that is just part of the experience in working there (all comes with the adjustment). But all in all, I have the best 3 years of my career time there.

Dear Mr. Qtips......qatar is improving in each sectors but still there is lot to do. As far as the WPS is concerned, before employers delays salary now concern banks making delay due to their lack of capacity. They are crediting the salaries in employees accounts after 4 - 5 working days of being salaries transferred or get transfer order from company.....it must be in the same day or maximum next day. Hope you will comment on this issue.

There is no human rights for labor at Qatar. I'm trapped on freelancing market place with a Qatar 🇶🇦 person. It's not first time i faced problem to working with clients, however in three years of working experience never face that kind of person.
Asked too much additional works, but doesn't want pay for it.
Only can imagine the situation of labor at Qatar.

And we don't receive a health card until now ,since our contract is almost finish by the end of this coming December. My concern are these, we want to go to the doctor for a check up when we are not feeling well. And if we buy a Medicine , these Medicine is refundable? And how many percent?

Is it right for a terminated employee to have at least 3 month to find a new job before the employer cancel your visa with them, or, it's added from your 1 month notification?
Mr Q.why do this country court case take too long.for me I have a pending case in court, waiting for judgement, company gave me no Job no medical n fingerprint, so I complained to labour Ministry and they forwarded my case to Dafna court demanding for sponsorships change 7 months down the line court only giving hearing and already I have a job offer from another company, I paid 600 qr for court fees and I have a report from court .are these laws just there and not enforced?

Am I entitled for 21 days leave pay and 21 days gratuity if I resign from my job after 1 year of service?
How about looking for a part time job after you finish your duty on your designate company? It is allow?
How about taking all the vacation days you have accrued in one year and the following year they will keep only 12 days, my question is, is that allowed specially the days you have work during days off day??
