22 feb is when sheikh khalifa became the emir (the present emirs granfather)....so it was named after that day to commemorate his ascension to the throne......
As well places like new al hitmi and new slata are named after the al hitmi and al sulaiti family who lived in the area

Bessal AlGharrafa it’s an action name because there was a water and people used to take from it and when they take that action in arabc “يغرف” (Yaghrof) soo AlGharrafa means The place where we take the water from.
