  • I purchased new material to replace the failing headliner in my 1985 1/2 SVO Mustang. Euroasian Bob insisted that we restore the factory headliner to keep the car original.
I was very skeptical but he insisted we try. See how it turned out.

Be thankful for Bob and the rear hatch. 😁
    Headliners can be so frustrating.
You guys did it the right way and the outcome looks fantastic!👍👍

I've never seen anybody restore a headliner before. I didn't know that was possible. That looks great and is still original! Awesome!

Nice Renault R5 Turbo 2 in the corner. Have you done a vid on that one yet? I had a modded one back in the 90s. Not many quirks and features, but was the ultimate sleeper.

Thanks. R5 will certainly be in a future episode. They are such cool fun cars. What mods did yours have?

@@epicentergarage4952 it had dual high pressure pumps in parallel, and an extra injector in the manifold which provided enrichment based on boost pressure, and higher boost. It ran the stock Bosch K-jetronic, but made about 300 hp. Bought it that way. I only had it repainted and fixed some electrical problems. Yes, a French car with electrical problems, go figure. As I recall, it was a fiberglass roof car. Not sure if all of them were that way. How about yours?

Awesome! I bet it was crazy to drive. Mine only has the 185hp "kit" yet still feels very quick...could not imagine 300hp.
Yes, we had to sort some electrical issues as well but all good now. I did not know some had fiberglass roofs...I know the 6221 versions had aluminum (rare) yet most had steel like mine.

I would recommend wearing masks and eye protection to guard against the dried particles from getting into your face and mouth. Just a safety tip.
