Those SLC's are an awesome GT car, longer wheelbase and the build quality and tech for the day still holds up nicely, the W116 S class is the same deal when Mercedes built real cars :-)
I’ve always had a bit of a dream of doing a resto mod road rally car with one of these old Merc coupes. Basically something like building it with the C63 running gear and then modifying the bodywork with bulging wheel arches big wheels and obviously lowered performance suspension. Brakes from the c63. Did I see a Renault 5 Maxi turbo in the background of one of your videos??? That’s an interesting little GRP B.and worth a video on its own. I like your mixed taste in cars…. We probably agree on 99% of them I reckon. . Really Great mate 👍
Great story….but all that for an SLC……talk about a very specific target audience, that really fits that category. When you go through the fuel system do not forget the little screen in the fuel distributor on the inlet side, they are prone to causing issues and always forgotten when exploring and rejuvenating the fuel system. Euro headlights are a plus! Same exact color as my 280 CE….i called it root beer.
Only things missing were a mini bike, briefcase, and a Diablo! LOL I'm only kidding. Looks like everything turned out fine on the adventure. Awesome car, too!
Wow! That looks like a Grey Market Benz! Itty bitty bumpers rather than the park benches. There were some airline pilots running companies as a side venture that were bringing grey market Benzes over with such weirdos as hand crank windows and velour interiors.
Yea, it is the Rockies! 😂
Get ready! I have another Car Quest lined up!
You should rename this the adventures of Tom and Huckleberry!

You are very correct!

That would be very cool! A 6.3 in this car would be nuts.
It is a Renault Turbo 2....not quite a Maxi

Yes...but it was the much more rare 5.0! Great advice on the fuel system, thanks! Root beer is very fitting
looks like a fun adventure!
What a great story you both made here. Love the content! Wish I had the luck to do a trip like this one!
280 SLC was my first MB. Great car.
Only things missing were a mini bike, briefcase, and a Diablo! LOL

You got that right!
I live in Denver, would have been so crazy to see you guys. Glad you made it safe! Tired on this damn snow, ready for spring
You were definitely not dressed for this kind of weather and for this kind of trip with the unknown mechanical state of the car...Glad it went well !

Love your channel. I’m sure it’ll blow up soon. You should try to do more trio adventure videos with Bob and Hoovie
Another one coming up soon....but it does not turn out as well :(
How to you figure out how many cars are in any countries, fun video, Aussie fan🇦🇺
Oooh was hoping they shipped these with a manual..
Less blah blah more honk honk.
I actually agree. More honk, honk coming in future episodes!
