  • This week I pull a very special car out of the big garage that I, regrettably, have not driven for a long time.

YES! I had an SVO back in 1984. It was new and I drove it for 8 years. I miss it. My headliner dropped too. Your example looks amazing! I've been asking to see it, so thank you for sharing. And giving it the love it deserves.

Awesome! Hope to do a video soon showing fixing the headliner and the dash.

Brian, first of all, HUGE FAN.
You should really consider a “sweepstakes” contest to give a lucky viewer/fan a “day at Epicenter”… tour of the garage and maybe take a car out for a drive. Etc. I know it would get a huge response. Your collection speaks to us 80s car guys & gals hitting our 50s now. Keep up the great videos.

HOLY COW! Bo Beuckman Ford, October 1985. I graduated from University of Missouri Aug 85 and was at Bo Beuckman 3 or 4 times a week for months trying to desire between a Red SVO, Charcoal SVO, or Black T-top GT. It would be in believable for that to be the red one. I got the GT because I had to have the T-tops. I sold my ratty 1974 Lotud Europa JPS, got a graduation discount from Ford and got the GT, but I ALWAYS(!!!) had second thoughts about getting one of the SVO’s! Crazy seeing the BO BEUCKMAN dealer logo.

Just when I thought his collection is just over the top, he proves it to be COMPLETELY OVER THE TOP! In my humble opinion it’s the best collection of drivers cars ever!

Ah man! Born & raised in the St. Louis area and I remember Bo Beukman Ford! Making me homesick Brian! I genuinely laughed when I saw the "Self Serve" sign in the bathroom!

Always loved the SVO. I loved the new turbo tech in the 80’s over the traditional V8’s.

The SVO group at Ford was the predecessor to the SVT group. I bought a '93 Cobra new and didn't know the rear discs had been done before on the SVO Mustang. I told a lot of people the Cobra was the first Mustang with rear wheel discs. I got straightened out at a car show. Love the Fox body cars!

You are very correct regarding SVO then to SVT.
I have been straightened out on things I thought knew as well :)

The SVO taillights were also later used on a Cobra model.

Great in-depth review of a fairly obscure car. I almost bought one of those years ago as i thought it would be worth saving and restoring…..of course i didn’t …..but i recognized the potential……woulda coulda shoulda….story of my life!🙂

I think that material on the SVO dash is called flocking, you could redo it if it gets too annoying from flaking off. It looks so nice when it’s new but unfortunately it never lasts long.

Coming from a predominantly Ford family. My brother owned an 85 and I absolutely loved it for its design and technology. You have to feature the SHO in the future. Hard to imagine a Yamaha/ Ford collaboration on the engine. Only to find out the Taurus ShO was faster than the GT

@Epicenter Garage yup I had an 85 GT and just could not stop thinking about the SVO so I bought an 86. If I recall 3rd gear at 70 mph was a sweet spot. So much pull

Love those SVO Mustangs! Quite the collection in the back garage. How do you find time to drive them all? You have a great collection and it's easy to see you enjoy all types of cars. Keep up the great work!

Sometimes it is hard to drive them all...like my SVO Mustang. If you do not drive them they have issues...like the battery! Thanks again for watching

I love Mustangs and especially the Fox bodies. I had an SN95 LX back in 97 and it was the best car. Unfortunately someone hit me and totaled it. Fast forward and now I'm divorced and on disability so I can't afford to buy another one. I would love to drive one again or the old fox body cars. Mustangs are just nice all around cars.
