    I really recommend for you to check your "facts" before you post things on the internet. Not for legal reasons or whatnot, but for your own sake, and the fact that you have a large following on RUclips/ other social media. I personally wouldn't want to spread false information and possibly affect the health and well-being of my followers. You don't really sound like you know what your talking about. eg.. calling protein a mineral, claiming that most fruit has 5% protein etc.. As a CNP (certified nutritional practitioner), i can guarantee you that most of what you're claiming is unfortunately false.

    I am a nutrition student and all of this is very unscientific. Encouragement of fruits and veggies is needed but not to this extreme extent...
    We need essential amino-acids from protein - more foods like beans and tofu needed! (Especially if you exercise)
    "food that has the most amount of protein is leafy greens" - WRONG! please look up the facts

    I think you're a bit confused on the whole subject. Proteins are not minerals. Besides, the problem is not with protein as a whole but with the aminoacids composing the proteins and the ratios between them. Meet doesn't have good ratios either (too much methionine which is linked to cancer) but in the diet you present, the amino-acid lysine is missing. I think the issue is way more complex than what you present in this video....

    I admire your enthusiasm but PLEASE make sure you know what you are talking about before you talk about it. We NEED proteins in our diets (may they be from a steak, shrimps, nuts, pulses or leafy greens). Also, please do not confuse them with minerals! Proteins are COMPLEX MOLECULES NOT MINERALS. If a food contains a lot of minerals it doesn't mean it contains a lot of proteins, you need to do some background reading on biochemistry and nutrition if you wanna give your followers accurate information.

    To be fair, you're a woman, skinny, and not toned. For some of us guys, our bodies require a bigger build, and would indeed require more protein than what's contained in veggies, especially if your lifting weights and exercising regularly, we need energy. I've been vegan for about 10 years already, and I've had to load up on my legumes, veggies, and tofu. I'm not raw, so I do go with the seitan and other soy products. But depending on the figure you're aiming for, more nourishment would be required.

What's most misleading is not what they've been telling us about protein, but that you're telling people it's not what they need. I cannot find a single fruit that has 5% protein
    Banana, 1.1% protein
    Pear, 0.4% protein
    Kale has 4.3% protein, but that's the highest protein from vegetables I can find, and once cooked it goes down to 1.9%
    Even broccoli only has 2.8%
    a cooked steak has up to 31% protein
    Protein is used to build muscle, something you seem to be lacking.
    Vegetarians can get protein for sources such as Quinoa and other whole grains, Beans and lentils, soy products like tofu (not recommended for men due to their estrogen content) nuts and nut products, eggs, cheese, and most veggie burgers have high protein content.

    • @TroloIol

      ***** The problem is that I would have to eat literally 100 bananas to get 130g of protein, something I definitely need to support all my training.
      In this case percentage of calories is irrelevant, since I can't stomach pounds of bananas, broccoli or such in a day regardless of their total energy content.

    • @RasputinReview
      @RasputinReview 10 лет назад +9

      ***** A medium banana is around 118g. that banana has 1.3g or protein
      1.3/118 is 1.1% protein. There are many ways to get Protein from sources other than meat but fruits and vegetables are definitely not one of them, unless you really like eating a lot of raw kale. Eating Whole foods is good, fantastic for you even, but If you are determined to cut out meat, the very food that allowed us to evolve to be intelligent, you have to do it carefully and with some kind of idea how to get protein.
      This woman is not really healthy. She isn't fat, but she isn't all that fit either, no muscle definition at all (which is shocking at her low fat%), very little muscle mass at all really. I really hope none of you try and get growing kids to go vegan or vegetarian, that would be terrible for their growth and development.
      Also, 80% of her calories come from fruit according to this video. that Banana? it's 12% sugar. Apples and pears? 10% sugar. Vegetables are MUCH lower in sugar. Meat has NO sugar. No wonder she feels great if she's that high on sugar.
      Now if you don't mind i'm going to patently wait for tomorrow when the Double Down comes back for a few days and I will gorge myself of dead birds. Excuse me, I have a work out to continue.

      The reason why animal meat has protein is because those animals are vegans.
      Chickens, Cows, Pigs, Mooses etc. The strongest, largest most muscular animals are vegans. Rhinos, Pandas, Giraffes, large dinosaurs etc.
      This means you're getting second hand protein.
      1 banana has 1% protein. 5 bananas has 5% protein. That is good news because this means the more you eat the healthier you'll be. When you eat fresh foods there is no limiting diets. You can stuff your face all day long and you get healthier.
      Protein is a collection of 9 aminos. These 9 aminos can be found in all plant based foods. Everyone on any diet should take b12 though.

    • @TroloIol
      @TroloIol 10 лет назад +5

      Animals don't contain proteins because they're vegans, it's because biological organisms are structuraly made up of proteins among other things.
      The problem with bananas and protein is that 1 banana contains 1.3 grams of protein. Hence one would have to eat an absurd amount of bananas every day in order to consume roughly 100 grams of protein each day. That's why bananas are a poor source of protein while something like cashew nuts are far better (20 g protein in 100 g of nuts).
      Even cashew nuts don't compare to beef however. 100 grams of beef contains 77 grams of protein. This protein is also more bioavailable, meaning the body will absorb it more readily. Peanuts for instance contain lots of protein, but the protein isn't as easily absorbed as something like casein or whey protein.

    • @thepanda9782
      @thepanda9782 10 лет назад +4

      Our bodies aren't meant to absorb high amounts of protein in short periods of time, (only about 20% of protein in meat can readily be absorbed all at once, so that 100 grams of protein goes down to about 20) and I think it may be interesting to point out that yes,eating meat is more bio-available but it also can easily cause inflammation, damage bacteria living in the gut and cause autoimmune disease among others. These links are just SOME information on vegetarian and veganism and food, there are tons of studies out there, please research this stuff, and no don't just go to vegan or paleo advocates, go to all people and learn everything you can like I have been doing
      www.healthy-soul.com/vegan-protein.html
      www.nutribodyprotein.com/protein-types.php
      I think that I should also point out that meat isn't very nutritionally dense, it often contains alot of unhealthy fats creating unhealthy omega 6-3 ratios and unnecessary amounts of fats in general in comparison to what you're supposedly gaining of 'protien', antibiotics (cause the human body to reject antibiotics then), pesticides and risk of E-coli without any water, dietary fiber (the thing that has been proven to regulate blood sugar, make you feel full and regulate your stool, btw it's only found in plants), antioxidants, or many vitamins. Personally I could relate the health benefits and negatives of consuming animal products relative to eating eating chocolate, when eaten in good quality, (made out of mostly if not entirely of cacao, not sugar/ grass fed organic and not factory farmed) animal products can be good in small quantities, since they do present some health benefits when eaten infrequently and in tiny minuscule amounts (one Harvard study showed that women who occasionally drank milk, ate cheese or yogurt had better bone health than those who ate it regularly though they didn't test whether or not completely cutting it out was beneficial or not funnily), as well eating things like 90% cacao chocolate can add some antioxidants however should only be consumed in small amounts because of what it comes with (refined sugars and low nutrient density, also contains theobromine similar to how animal products often contain excess fat, have low nutrient density and contain things like chemicals similar to morphine). Also it's been shown that damage and inflammation to the gut can cause people to not absorb the nutrients in their food very efficiently (this can explain why vitamin b12 is also common in non-vegan and non-vegetarian people), obviously gut inflammation and damage would logically be a result of poor diet as such a thing doesn't really exist in other countries (most of which have far lower intakes of animal products)and eating foods that make the body unhappy, of course big culprits would be processed and refined foods however it seems that animal products are seen by the body as foreign and since animal protein attaches onto things to stop itself from breaking apart, it creates a certain sugar to then attach itself to the cells of the body, then the body makes antibodies attack those cells. Personally I get scared when I look at people on Paleo websites try to tell people to limit their fruit and vegetable intake, which not only is inflammatory and a boost to the immune system with it's antioxidant powers, but is extremely nutrient dense meaning you could shove the fruit and vegetables down your throat all day and chances are you most likely won't get fat or get diseases (this is because of the dietary fiber and water), also you'll have amazing skin. Damn them all for not having to constantly restrict their food intake and looking healthy eating whole foods!

    the fact is that our dna, our cellules, everithing in our body is composed by protein, if you don't eat enough some of your functions can be slowed or damaged. we also have about 20 different tipes of amminoacids , divided in 3 categories: essential, semi-essential, non-essential. the amminoacids are the base for proteins, and our body SURVIVE on essential ones, but will no have the 100% functionality. You have to LIVE, not SURVIVE, and for LIVE you will need also the semi-essential and non-essential, otherwise your body will be in deficit. Fruits and vegetables gives you protein, but no every tipe of amminoacid that you need. I eat like you every day, but sometimes we need diary for healthy bactereas like yogurt, we need meet for our blood, we need everything that the earth gives us because we are a part of it, we are an ecosistem, it has no sense to remove completely from our diet something, because NATURALLY the heart gives it to us. We have to eat not TOO MUCH red meat cause it will be unhealthy, not TOO MUCH white meat, not TOO MUCH feash (which is excellent for omega-3) not TOO MUCH of anything, we have to eat the right amount of everything.

    So your telling me if I want to be a raw vegan bodybuilder I can just eat bananas and apples and gain plenty of muscle at the gym. Because if that is what you are saying you are incorrect. You don't need meat, but you can't get protein from fruits and vegetables. Nuts, soybeans, and grains are where you will get protein. If I'm eating 4000 calories a day, which I am, I can't get 20% of my protein needs from fruits and vegetables. If I took your advice my muscles would atrophy and yes, I would not be protein deficient, but I would also look like a twig.
    Additionally, "protein vitamins" don't exist. You really don't know what you are talking about. Protein is also not a mineral.

    5% protein is horribly low, and percentages should not be used when considering what to eat. You need to count the actual physical amount of protein. 5% is not only very low, but the fact that vegetables are so low in mass means that protein intake is even lower. what is 5% of 100 grams? 5g protein. to get 5g of protein you would have to eat 100g of vegetables, and actually as somebody else has stated, vegetables and fruits are lower than 5% protein. Inactive individuals may only need 50g of protein a day, while this number is low, you would still need 1 kilogram or 2.2 pounds of vegetables a day to get that much protein (and as I said before, actually more since most vegetables are lower than 5% protein, I don't know where this lady gets her information from). However, you should not BE an inactive individual. The benefits of anaerobic lifting are huge, and in that case, you may need 1g per pound of Lean Body Mass that you have, which in my case, means 150g of protein a day. I simply could not do that on vegetables. If we assume that she was actually right with 5% protein then I would have to eat 3kg or 6.6 pounds of veggies a day. (actually more, as I already stated) that is simply not feasible, not economical, and simply not TASTY. I'd much rather eat a couple Mcdoubles then force feed myself $300 worth of vegetables a week

    It is irresponsible and false for you to say that protein is not needed in the diet and it is making us "fat" Excess calories, (mostly excess carbohydrates in America) is what is making this nation fat. Protein is a macronutrient which contains amino acids and it is the building blocks of muscle.Not everyone's body can tolerate a low protein diet composed of fruits and vegetables. Also as we get older we lose a lot of muscle due to natural aging atrophy. If you don't have alot of muscle when your young your body is going to be very weak and brittle by the time you've reached your elder years.

  • @LilHltler
    @LilHltler 10 лет назад +1

    The fact that your bodies preferred energy sources are carbs to fat to protein does not mean that protein is not required. Protein has many, many uses other than energy, it is used every cell, and for every chemical reaction that occurs in your body. Its purpose is not simply metabolic. Carbs are not better than fat because they are used first. Your body simply uses carbs first because glycogen (stored carbohydrate) requires large amounts of water to hold, which means that if our body used fat before carbs for energy we could easily have upwards of 20 pounds of extra weight on us all the time simply from carbohydrates. The only time carbohydrates are actually better than fat for fuel is when you are performing high intensity anaerobic exercise, because your muscle fibers being used will require quick energy (carbs) as fat would be as efficient in this instance, however this does not apply to cardiovascular activity because cardio is aerobic.

    to this entire comment section: if your only concern is protein (and you're not interested in looking at your diet as a whole, which is the reason we as a species are getting sicker instead of healthier) - dark leafy greens have some of the highest concentration of aminoacids out there, which your body then combines into protein. when you eat animal protein, your body has to first separate it into the amino acids, then recombine those to create a protein suited to the human body, not the cow or pig or chicken,.... now which makes more sense? i agree that you have to do your research, but then people who ask this question, please do your research.

  • @hollypattersonwriter
    @hollypattersonwriter 9 лет назад +2

    You can not compare the protein in fruits and vegetable verses meat.
    One
    Meat is more concentrated.
    Think about a cow that eats grass for 2 years. Now if you eat that meat from the cow you will get the benefits you would never get in a glass of wheat grass.
    Two
    Meat and fish are complete proteins
    Vegetables and fruits are not complete proteins
    They all have a different function and are not interchangeable.
    I used to be like you and get all emotional with people trying to defend this diet.
    The truth is there are very little facts to back up your claims.
    So please go educate yourself before you go any further.
    If you have a open mind and your willing to listen to what I have to say I am always here for you and will give you the info you need to make your diet more balanced.

      Those are all flawed studies and are completely made up. It is not true that vegans live longer or vegetarian for that matter.
      In fact India the most Vegetarian place on the planet has people who are crippled, malnourished, blind, over weight and have diabetes. I do not want to hear it because I lived it and it only declined my health.
      Your forgetting that when you take nutrients out of your diet that your body and brain need on consistent basis that it causes diseases to occur. Whoever your listening to you need to stop listening to and go do your own dynamic research. That means hearing what the other side has to say instead of just listening to people who have no credentials.

    What kind of budget does it take to be a raw vegan?

    • @kitomad7357
      @kitomad7357 8 лет назад

      A big one i can tell you that. It was 80 to 100 a week on just myself. I can feed my family of 5 on 150 max per week on paleo. When were really broke 80 bucks a week so the we just eat mexican food. Meat, beans and rice. If budget is what you're really worried about, raw vegan is not something you want to do. If it isn't and it makes you feel great go for it. Me, im all for paleo because this is the second time I've gone back on it and this is the second time it has amazed me and how wonderful i feel again. I don't always buy grass-fed meat but i do when i can. Don't beat yourself up if you can't always buy grass-fed or organic, it's still better than buying prepackaged food or flavored cardboard that comes through the window of your car.

    I agree that eating a full and complete vegan diet can supply you with protein and other essential mineral to keep you up and running. Thing is, people have different goals, occupations and lifestyles. Some people don't need the amount of muscle as other. A part of my life is lugging heavy objects around (50-75 lbs of chicken food is a regular). I need to gain muscle and quite a bit, not to mention being a muscular and stronger than normal woman gives me pride :) It's not like I got around eating 20 burgers, I rarely eat burgers. I eat meat but I don't believe a hamburger gives a complete diet. I eat very lean meats and things like yogurt, cheese, milk, and eggs from my own hens. I just started trying out some whey protein powder just because I wanted to try it out, it doesn't taste too shabby either. Just because I eat meat doesn't mean I don't eat lots of fruits and veggies or I eat fatty, artery clogging cheeseburgers... Not trying to put down this vid, it's great and I can see it works great for you :)

  • @eddievedderisbedder
    @eddievedderisbedder 9 лет назад

    Okay, Protein is probably one if the most misused words out there. Any organic thing has protein. Proteins are structural, supportive molecules that have a caloric value of 4. They also code for things that appear physically. And code for all the amino acids, the structure of cells, and Virtually anything in living things. So yes, that leaf of kale is jam packed with proteins. But, the protein that is commonly used is like that slab of steak. It's a supportive molecule with lipids (fat) to insulate, That consist of animal cells. Witch may lead people to say: "well, if that kind of protein is supportive, then plants must have them, right?" No. If that's the case, everyone would be fat. The way plants stay supported is through strong, thick cell walls and large vacuole (witch acts like a storage/supportive sack that fills with the plants water, food, and waste) and as that fills, the plant becomes bright, sturdy, and lively. That's why if you don't water your plants, they become droopy and sick. So really, you can't go without protein for long. Otherwise, you'll become a toothpick! So, eat yah beans and salad kiddies! That'll make yah strong!

    I really tried very hard to be a raw vegan for a few months because I truly embrace that type of eating. The problems I had was that I was always sick: migraines, breakouts, dizziness, weakness, diarrhia, etc. In order to avoid dizziness and weakness, I basically had to eat ALL the time but because of all the acidity in fruits and some vegetables, I had major breakouts on my face and back :( I think it was my body adjusting and cleansing itself. How long does it usually take for the body to really adjust? I'm off it now but would love to try it again. Thanks !!

    We've all seen people suffering from protein deficiency. Kwashiorkor is the protein deficiency that gives the starving african children the "bloated belly"; it's edema. General starvation (Marasmus) does not give the edema, it's a very different beast. So basically... Yes there are millions of people suffering from protein deficiency.

    I hate when vegans compare junk meat to their stellar diet. Maybe a paleo follower should compare their meat based diet to eating canned vegetables. You don't see someone not getting enough protein because you live in a first world country. You can eat meat but it should be organic fresh so if this is to hard, you should go vegan. I have easy access to meat that comes from animals who live in wider open grassy fields until they are killed by a proffesional butcher not minimum wage grunt. However meat is still not an everyday thing for me and I still make some vegan and or raw vegan recipes.
    I also find the free from harm phrase naive do you know how many animals your house cat kills for fun alone? Few animals live to their full life expectancy in the wild. Please do not respond to me about meat lots and how the industry abuses animals because I would agree that's why I don't buy that meat.
    I also know my meat is free range because I have personally met my meat.

    This video is SLIGHTLY misleading, and i'm a Vegan. It's not that there protein isn't important, protein is extremely important. But all vegetables contain a certain amount of it, and if you're eating as much of them as you should be, you're actually getting MORE protein than from animal products.

  • @CARLOSJIMENEZ-st2xh
    @CARLOSJIMENEZ-st2xh 9 лет назад

    I got to disagree with the idea of getting enough protien from plants only. I think that it is essential to also eat protein from lean meats such as chicken, fish, and lean meats. Trying to get enough protein from plants only is possible but very very difficult. You need to add some animal protiens in your diet to be healthy.

  • @chugchugwoopwoopwee
    @chugchugwoopwoopwee 10 лет назад

    Vegetables have more protein PER CALORIE then meat yes, but in order to get as much protein as 100gr of steak you need like 700gr of broccoli, so meat is a lot more protein dense per mass.
    Also, Proteins aren't a mineral, like carbs and fats they're a source of energy which can be transferred into energy (Calories)
    Really, if you want to live raw and vegan and whatever you want to support then fine, but don't go on the internet selling horrible diet advice which is mostly not true anyway. People who listen to you and don't see the results are victims as a result.

    What? You're gorgeous and I love your videos and especially your smoothie recipes but your knowledge is discredited when you call a protein a mineral.. Proteins are composed a a variation of twenty different amino acids of which meat contains all of. That is why it is prized as a "complete" protein naturally containing all twenty possible amino acids. Plant based sources are much more difficult (except for quinoa) to come across when looking for a complete protein but can be done by mixing and matching foods with different amino acids such as mixing beans with rice (which I know is not raw)....That is why there are not "protein vitamins" but there are however many protein supplements sold in stores. I'm also vegan and hoping to slowly transition into a raw lifestyle and do admire you for sharing your lifestyle with others. You look great!

    Okay.. An "average American" does not think a cheeseburger is healthy okay. I know that for me personally a raw vegan diet would cause me to go broke bc produce is so expensive where I live, plus I would become rail thin bc I eat a lot of protein and leaves just ain't gonna cut it. Now I'd be okay with vegan because I could eat things like beans, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, quinoa, brown rice, and oh yeah actually cook my food.

    Oh my gosh.... You just compared one of the most unhealthy protein meals to raw healthy food. I tried raw vegan for 1 month. It didn't work at all. It was waaaaay too expensive for just myself not even my 3 kids and husband. And no matter how much i ate i could not get rid of my headaches. I ate Alot! I didn't gain or lose weight. I just stayed the same. I gave it a shot and it didn't work. Now im back on paleo diet. Something that i can feed my whole family with. I don't eat any breads or starches like white potatoes like those nasty French fries you have on that plate. No legumes, no alcohol, no fairy, no soy, no sugar of any kind only raw honey, no high fructose corn syrup, no corn as it is really just a filler and has no nutritional value. My usual plates consist of a bit of meat protein. Basically treating meat as a side dish and eating lots and lots of veggies, good fats like avocado, avocado oil or coconut oil, ghee, almond milk is the only milk i buy now, any fruits i want. No peanuts so we use Almond butter instead. Not only are my headaches gone, I've lost 8 lbs in 2 and a half weeks with no exercise and my energy levels are through the roof again. I'm happy that your raw vegan lifestyle works for you (it certainly didn't for me) but when you're going to make a comparison that involves protein it's pretty biased to used one of the most unhealthy examples you can. And the average American really doesn't actually think that, that meal is healthy because they get their carbs and protein and veggies. Yes those things do exist in that meal, but they're not prepared healthy and everyone knows that.

  • @dannypapasfritas5768
    @dannypapasfritas5768 9 лет назад

    The vegetables with the most amount of protein are only 3% protein, almonds have around 25% protein. You are getting a lot of fiber, vitamins, water and minerals from your vegetables. But you are getting most of your protein from your seeds and nuts. Adults do not need that much protein, but children and specially babies really do for growth. (Letting you know in case there is anyone trying to make their kids have a vegan diet). Rawvana's diet is very healthy for any adult.

So...shouldn't we be eating both?

    I think we could all do our research independently of watching these videos, and watch these types of videos with perspective. Remember that people are imperfect and we should always check the "facts" ( I am stating facts this way because we often confuse fact with information that is indicated in scientific studies). No need for demonizing. Just always double check. We all can make mistakes, and we are often times lied to by the media as well. Even the scientific community may have disagreements. Which is why you see that one study may say wine is healthy in one particular way and another study may say it is bad for you in some other aspect of your health. It is just part of the process when we are trying to learn everything through inductive reasoning. We can are able to independently make decisions utilizing our own experience and what we have read. If you are not interested in what she has to say, you are fully capable of avoiding her videos. I find that although every little thing she says may not be completely supported by scientific studies (which is true for most of us), she has interesting recipes I can utilize.... lol that's my novel

    Please, anyone who watches this video, do not take this nutritional advice seriously. This woman clearly has done no research and has no clue how a human body uses nutrients. She called protein a mineral for christs sake.
    There are millions of people around the world suffering from a lack of protein, espically in Africa. The condition protein-deficiency causes is known as Kwashiorkor, and you can see it in the children of third world countries with the big distended bellies. It is caused by adequate calorie intake but inadequate protein intake. So yes, its real.

    That raw vegan pizza made me want to vomit. Just ridiculous. When you get together with friends and family you must make things so complicated. I want to be able to go wherever and experience food culture. If you found yourself let's say in Alaska in winter, you wouldn't be able to live off of being raw vegan. You have to go out and hunt yourself a moose or deer to survive. But you got some major issues with meat. Many people don't have access to your surplus of produce so we eat what we have

But, all foods contain a little protein, and the protein present in everything that you eat throughout the day will add up to a sufficient amount. So, as long as you eat enough food, you'll be good to go! ( for the protein part that is! we should also make sure that we eat the right type of food ) And sorry for commenting 3 yrs later, but it's just now that I saw this video!

    I believe that splitting whole foods into nutrients is the biggest scam of all, because people are like zombified by the inevitability of meat or at least fish in any diet because it has that thing, that nutrient everybody needs but what it is - nobody knows.
    I have read it in "the Chinese study" that most studies are very specific about a nutrient, vitamin and their influence on a specific issue. But none of them take raw foods or whole foods as a basis for study, because you can't put whole foods into a drug to sell in the pharmacy.

    While your point that we may eat too much protein is well taken this is not a good example of what non vegans/animal "average" eaters eat. It's an insult to many who strive to eat for balance such as myself. There is no need to lower the rest of the world's eating behaviors in order to elevate yours. Your diet can actually kill some people, it's not for everyone just like burgers and chicken may be harmful to some. Everyone is different and need different ratios of different foods.

    There's no doubt in my mind that a raw vegan diet can be beneficial in a lot of ways, but on the other hand, it is so so so important to consume enough fats and proteins with every meal in addition to your fruits and veggies so that you don't spike your blood sugar. When the cells have enough glucose to thrive, the rest of the glucose gets stored in the fat cells. A diet that is rich in high Glycemic index foods causes a roller coaster blood sugar pattern. Which, eventually, can lead to serious health problems.

    I believe protein is not a mineral. It is a nutrient. I do believe that we absolutely do not need protein from meat. or any other animal sources. I base that on the fact that bulls and horses diets are full of grass, grains and hay and they maintain their large muscle and bone mass. A diet based solely on fruit and vegetables will result in tooth, hair and bone loss. However you did mention nuts and seeds and they are vital in a vegan diet. Of course include beans and you're good to go. Overall a good and positive message.
