FINALLY a card game that adds enough extra mechanics to make it interesting. If the dev is around lurking: lean into the whole "you're the raid boss" thing by having heros banter with each other; calling for heals, yelling battle cries, crying out in fear when you hit a new phase.. like Darkest Dungeon in reverse 😂. A little harder to do: I think the heros should also have tile-affecting cards; I understand the complexity is exponential in tile type though.

The comments on Splat’s videos is the only place I have seen with this much of a hate boner for card games. Absolutely wild. It isn’t even hate towards card games that are lazy reskins of slay the spire, it is the concept of cards in general as a game mechanic, which is just wild to me. Like I can totally understand being frustrated with cards games being “Slay the Spire BUT…” but that isn’t what I see in the comments. I see so many mocking indie devs for using cards as a mechanic, when you can do literally anything with cards. Cards are a medium for making mechanics. I’m sure there is a genre of game that you like where the main mechanic of the genre is incredibly similar to other games in the genre. That doesn’t mean it is inherently a bad or uninspired game. These are the wildest takes to me. Criticize the substance of the game, or just give it a pass because you personally don’t like card games. Saying games are bad because they have cards or indie devs are lazy for making games with cards is as stupid as saying they would be bad if they had level up mechanics or first person shooting. Like, holy cow. Thank you for showing these games despite the inane and low brow comments, Splat.

A little bit like my idea of HoMM meets cardgames, but seems to lack grand strategy elements and focused on villain side. Cool, might have to take another look later on.
Honestly, i like the card aspect of this game. I feel like it's going to help slow down the story so people don't power through the game in an hour. I've got several card games in my steam library that I enjoy.
"You are the raid boss." Okay, I'm at attention. "It's a card game like Slay the Spire" instant attention loss. Thumbs up and comment for Splattercat being the absolute best and the biggest sweetheart, but instant hard pass.
My problem with card games is many of them feel unneeded. It’s like crafting mechanics. But this isn’t one of them. This is a good game for cards, honestly. A big part of raid bosses is they have many abilities, but don’t spam the best ones. Cards help simulate that for the player. There’s also enough variety and other mechanics besides the cards to keep things interesting.
I'm kinda puzzled by the anti-card game comments. I get it, it's pretty common for rogue-lites and another genre, but fact is, uness there is a longer styry mode, etc, simply being a tactics game would probably mean very little replayability without any randomization.
Not everyone views that kind of randomness as enhancing replayability - or more importantly, not all people view deck builders as fun in the first place. For me, randomness should never be centered in game design - only something at its periphery to add variety, but deck builders and dice games are fundamentally centered on randomness and the management thereof, which I find dull and unfun. I'm fine with randomness in games like XCOM because while a single bad roll might cost you your favorite dude, the mission fundamentally relies upon non-random decisions and good strategy and tactics is ultimately what decides the outcome. Deck builders pass that threshold for me, where the randomness is more important than the non-randomness.

That Ravager DLC goes hard
Conquering the map as a raid boss?
Reminds me of Rampage for the NES.
Let Them Come: Badass Dragon Edition
It seems quite good! I think they should tune down the dmg and or the hp of enemies. The first enemies felt like hp sponges a bit but I'm following the game!
A little bit like my idea of HoMM meets cardgames, but seems to lack grand strategy elements and focused on villain side. Cool, might have to take another look later on.
Hey Splatter, love the look of this game! Any idea when full release is?
Another gold recommendation. This is Indie Christmas, but too many games, when already beta testing other games! Aaaargh!
Maybe we will get other creatures to play as not just dragons that would be cool.
Looks good
excellent!
Game about being dragon raid boss=I want
Roguelite deck builder=I don't want.
a cool game you might like: Deadzone Rogue
looks neat
thanks
I'm sold!!!
Adolescent dragon>young dragon>old dragon>ancient dragon
What Have I Done to Deserve This, My Lord?
Would be cool, if gold added to your hoard at home which boosts your contentedness or whatever because dragons have an affinity for gold.
Honestly, i like the card aspect of this game. I feel like it's going to help slow down the story so people don't power through the game in an hour. I've got several card games in my steam library that I enjoy.
How dare you claim dragons are evil!?!? Dragons are majestic, misunderstood little sweethearts.
15:15 you can lyterali see what move the enemy is using
As opposed to some of these commenters, I can't get enough of deckbuilding card games let's gooo
I hate card games but this one has my attention.
they should have a chance to rage-quit when you heal
random numbers have appeared on my username I just noticed them
People yell about it in the comment section for weeks.
Splatt: "So i stumbled upon this and you might like it."
"You are the raid boss." Okay, I'm at attention.
"It's a card game like Slay the Spire" instant attention loss. Thumbs up and comment for Splattercat being the absolute best and the biggest sweetheart, but instant hard pass.
Now I am Blackwing!
You're stopping me from playing warhammer!
Dragon... sold!
Eh, another Slay The Spire contender.
I like a good deck builder roguelite, but it feels excessive these last couple years
My problem with card games is many of them feel unneeded.
Deck builders pass that threshold for me, where the randomness is more important than the non-randomness.
love the content @splattercatgaming Have to know, why did you capitalize ARE in the title instead of what I would see as needing the emphasis being the word YOU in that sentence. No criticism just seeing if that is a regional thing or what
Poison dragon poison dragon poison dragon POISON DRAGOOONNNNN
Cause "None shall Pass" was taken already.
