    • @micahwest3566
      @micahwest3566 2 месяца назад +1

      @@kylechristensen3326 The germs are actually a fun problem to solve! First I tried using a water tepidizer to heat it and kill the germs, but the hot water quickly killed my mealwood. Chlorine is a much better solution! Fill a room with chlorine gas and build water reservoirs in it. Chlorine is heavier than oxygen so as long as no CO2 gets in it shouldn’t be too difficult if you pump it in from above. Pump germy water in and they will quickly die. You can use water shutoff valves with a switch to manually control the water flow and keep it in the tanks long enough, or if you want to be fancy you can create a timer with a “filter” gate. Last tip- degerm the water before you filter it or the water water sieves will produce germy dirt which is annoying to deal with. Good luck!

    I think these types of videos are my favorite ONI content, and boy did you deliver! You really made those first cycles look easy. I'm sure you can do it with another few attempts, and I look forward to seeing you try.
    Potential optimizations: Not building beds only gives the sore back debuff for half a day, worth -1 athletics. Focus on those few dupes that need to be isolated or are nyctophobic. Snoring dupes in a room, and then glow stick dupes next to nyctophobic dupes. Instead, build great halls with that space/labor. +6 morale will go a very long way to preventing stress.
    Do half of the oxygen, build ranches, other half of the oxygen? I don't know if this would actually save time. Hatches need groomed the first moment possible, at least. Start with all the potential food crops early. Seeds are essential, the sooner the first batch is planted, the better. For that matter, make sure dupes with a like for farming have a higher priority, for better seed chances. Every %10 chance goes a long way.
    Probably lot better optimizations, but I've only got 200 hours into the game and a half-hearted attempt with 25 dupes. Good luck with future attempts! You've got this!

      @Luma_plays  Год назад +7

      Hey Marie, thank you for the nice and helpful comment. If i could i would give you 2 hearts.
      The mess halls are a good point and as you said probably more important than the barracks.
      I haven't even thought of a farmer!
      As for the seeds, i started farming every availible seed as soon as i realized i had them and it still wasn't enough. Maybe i should have expanded more in search of burried seeds.
      Ranching is probably another optimization point.

  • @jasam01
    @jasam01 Год назад +59

    I think I'd try this with 3 Agriculture Focused Starting Dupes. There's so much dupe labour that can be thrown at science/ranching in the worst case, however getting more seeds from the high level agriculture would help food scale better till you reach the point ranching can take over.

    Man I missed you :D
    one tip regarding SPOM. I always see people just copy paste the spom or just scale it. It doesnt NEED oxygen pumps. or atleast not 22 o2 Pumps. Just leave some gaps at the bottom and the oxygen will just flow out naturally, Saving you shit ton of base killing heat and freeing alot of extra power. It gets better later on with some gas pressure sensor+ mechanized doors.
    but with the high flow you have no other gases will be getting in. One tile gaps will also prevent other gases getting in due to oxygen high pressure from the inside.

    • @Luma_plays
      @Luma_plays  Год назад

      That is a good point. We could save alot of power here. I think the oxygen would still be hot since the electolyzer has a minimum output temperature of I guess 70°C if I remember correctly. The second point is the ruptured ear drums giving 20% stress per cycle that we have to counter.
      Imagine 100 binge eaters, destructive dupes, vomiters etc.

    • @OgdenM
      @OgdenM Год назад

      @@Luma_plays , yah the air would still be super hot. You could have just built the SPOM in an ice biome with insulated tiles around it. It would have given you probably 20cyles of cool air. Or better yet, find a ANTN and use the hydrogen and gas pipe cooling loop. That way, your base would not have overheated so fast. ..or at all possibly.
      And yah, you probably didn't need that many pumps hah. I have 12 dupes in my base and am pumping out 2000g of O2 with 4 pumps from from my 6 electrolizer SPOM and the pipes are always full..even with the the vents just getting over pressure. --But I set the vents to shut at 1500' cause less power usage.
      --and yes, I know 6 electrolizers are overkill for the amount of dupes I have.. I didn't know that when I made the setup. Happily, I could easily shut some down.

    Things I would do differently.
    1) Airlocks
    2) Better food management with ranching and farming, use less dirt to make mush bars.
    3) Get composting up early on
    4) Water filtration and tapping into infinite water supply while managing temperature
    5) Managing temperature with insulated tiles and radiator pipes. (Create an infinite loop that takes in polluted water. The polluted water gets cooled down and piped throughout the base eventually ending up back in the cooling zone while radiating cold.)
    6) Carbon Dioxide storage and filtration. (Either store it in tanks for later use in carbon skimmers, or for making food storage areas. Germs can't survive in carbon dioxide. So, make food storage and surround it in carbon dioxide to prevent spoiling and germ spread.)
    7) Germ management. Slimelung dies in pure oxygen, so I would pump all the polluted oxygen out into a room and have it escape while going through deodorizers.
    Thats all I can think of, but still you made it super far! Thats more than I can say for sure!

      I am just going to adress a few, not in order to defend my bad gameplay just to maybe get more tips :D
      1. any specific areas you had in mind?
      2. i used all the seeds availible (should have dug more); ranching: yes definitely
      3., 4., yes
      5. yes (for cooling we need plastic or a cold biome)
      6. Not sure about the necessity of a carbon storage but the simply food storage is a good idea.
      (it will still spoil though if not refridgerated (but it is not as if the food survives that long :D)
      7. That might be simplyfied. you would need a large amount of pumps and no spillage anywhere.
      But if your base is clean it should be possible.
      Thanks again for the message

      @TinyDragonGamer250 Год назад

      @@Luma_plays Airlocks are useful for keeping bad gasses or polluted oxygen/germ from passing between areas.
      Also you don't need a cold biome, or plastic. Unless radiator pipes need plastic, you should be able to use a liquid temp changer to make water cold and then pipe it through the radiator pipes.
      Food won't be germed up if it's stored in a pocket of carbon dioxide, limiting the spread of bad germs

    This was cool! Although I am curious how are you getting into those slime bioms without infecting anything with slime. When I dig just a single slime block and it drops into the polluted air, the slimelung grows very fast and then it's a pain to clean it up. So I do it slowly - pump out the water, clean the polluted air, and then start digng the slime blocks which is very time consuming. And you just went in without any issues and cleaned up the whole space.

    • @Luma_plays

      Wit my current skill probably not. I actually have never made Frostburgers. There was no need yet.
      But if i train it i guess it is possible. exclusively could also mean i push the base with many dupes but instead of feeding all i let all but 1 die? which would make it easier to feed them exclusively 😁

    Информация сожетт оказатся не октуальной.
    ------------------------------------------------
    посчитаем сколько надо еды для производства 100 000 ккал,
    1) нам понабится 125 грязевых батончиков = 9 375 кг грязи и 9 375 кг воды в цикл.
    2) мукоедных батончиков нам понабится около 59, а это окло 118 мукоедов в цикл, а это получается 1 180 кг земли и 2 950 кг воды в цикл, но понабится 354 грядок
    3) Жареная ягода нам понабится 50, а чтобы сдела их понабится 50 щитиныстых ягод в цикл, а это 1 000 кг воды, одна ягода растет 6 циклов, и нам понабится 300 клеток грядок.
    4) жареный гриб понабиться 36 грибов, а это около 144 кг слизи в цикл, но понабиться 270 грядок
    5) морозная булочка на понабится 84, а это 252 зерна в цикл, а это 280 кг воды в цикл и 70 кг грязи в цикл, а для понабится 252 грядок.
    6) ягодный батончик нам понабится 25 в цикл, а это у нас 25 ягод и 125 зерна в цикл 3 000 кг воды и 625 кг грязи, но на понабится 150 грядок ягоды и 126 грядок пшеницыпшеницы и суммарно получаются 276 грядок.
    7) нам понабится 100 жареных грязи, а это 7 500 кг грязи и 7 500 кг воды.
    ------------------------------------------------
    Итог: самый дешевый по грязи это грибы, по воде грибы, по занимаймому месту это жареная грязь и грязевые батончики.

      That allows the electrolyzer to run non stop cause it always thinks it is not overpressured. meaning i can stock up on oxygen and don't need ot check for pressure. Search for "Hydra" if you are interested in that type of spom.

    It's actually insane to think you will need 20 oxygen pumps to "breath" the 100dupes that is 10water oxidizer aka 10kg of water per second(you probably need like 3water geysers)(forgor the mouth breathers)

    • @Luma_plays
      @Luma_plays  Год назад +1

      Yes that is the amount needed. I guess if you get further than cycle 50 with so many dupes the sand might become sparse as well. so no more filtration. But there is alot of ice in the planet.
