When the company sends a introvert as the first duplicant so he has control over what/ who he accepts and he keeps telling them, "I'm just not ready for more duplicants".
@@ezeycemaf7451 It looks like you got exposed to radioactive pronoun cancer and it took hold in your brain. You need cleansing to be able to understand English again.
cycle 150 is probably the 2nd filter in the game. At least it I feel like it is. Because if you make it past the first 10 or so cycles, you established some methods that will last you until sometime between cycle 100-200 (or a little more if you don't print many dupes). You know how to make oxygen from algea, food from some plants and maybe ranching, have power, water and research up, so all your basic needs are met. 150 cycles is roughly where some of starting resources like algea start to run out (and if you are ranching hatches, the stones they eat might be running low now too which can lead to a coal shortage), and the heat starts to creep in enough that Mealwood and Bristle Berries are pushing the upper limit of their temperature range. So now you are met with this amalgamation of several problems at once (oxygen, food and power). And the solution requires Steel and plastic, which are both power and heat intensive, so they strain exactly the same things you are already having problems with. So this hurdle needs some foresight to pass, because if you only start when the problems come, you might be too late.
This summary was AMAZING! I loved watching the entire ONI series (all of them). Your ONI content is my single "addiction channel" content on RUclips for over a year now. You upload = I watch. Your editing and production style is something I don't think I could do myself, which is a huge part of what makes me coming back. You're intentional, concise, obsessive, procedural... yet the episodes still manage to retain a layer of exploration, mistakes, learnings, pivoting, reaction... and you still manage to bundle it up so effortlessly (but I can see the countless hours of work that would go unseen by the consuming audience). Thank you for all this content. I've seen your channel grow spectacularly in the last year or two and I wish all the best of luck in your next journeys! This summary video is a great looks back retrospective on a splendid masterpiece of dedication :D!
It was a great experience to watch this challenge series. Because you can only use one duplicant, Nathan created a series of ultimate automation tutorials. You will find very inspiring and brilliant ideas and situational awareness. If you like to watch pro gamers this one is for you.
Lol, as someone who's never seen a series pass much further than a hundred or so cycles, this video was a wild ride for me XD I think I'm gonna go check out the actual series to get some more explanations XD
I'm still catching up on the series, but I love the recap at the end of it! The 'ah, I wasted so much time' and 'I may have had to rebuild this a few times' were hilarious to watch in real time in the series.
I've watched this summary episode several times and it's absolutely fascinating. Finally I have some time to be able to binge watch all 74 videos of the one dupe challenge and I am really looking forward to it. I can't thank you enough for these entertaining and skillful playthroughs.
The funny thing about this summary is that i binged all 3k cycles as of yesterday. I finished that playlist over the course of multiple days and failed concentrations yet you give us this monster of a summary. If that isnt cosmic timing, i dont know what is
It's very entertaining to see all the progress you made in the whole series again in a shorter video. Just like "once upon a time there was only one Duplicant..." 😁
I watched your ONI content, learned from them, and played the game while I listen to your videos in the background. It's such a wholesome experience. Thanks for the effort!
It was an amazing series, I watched it all. I think I started around episode 15, then binged the start and then I binged all your other ONI content I love your videos and you have a great video voice, it's really easy to listen to your voice
I'm so grateful for your playthrough because I'm only 34 minutes through and there's a massive chunk of game play I'll forever be locked away from seeing as I can't get past 100 cycles
4:28 it worked! Glad you mentioned that there was playlist, I much prefer watching longplay formats and I never would have known this one even existed without this video! Figured you'd like to know your idea worked exactly to plan ;)
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!! Definitely going to want to watch the series, because this already has me looking at my own saves like "yeah I suck at this" and now I want to see what I can learn from you after seeing all the awesome stuff that happens
You could probably do anything with just one dope, if you have the patience I mean. One dupe doesn’t take up much resource to maintain. Will probably take forever to get anything done though. You should do a challenge where you always have to choose a dupe, when the printing pod cools down.
@@Nathans-Sandbox been watching you for a while! These are just the two most recent! I think I got hooked during one ONI episode where you were talking to your kiddo, and as a fellow dad myself, that’s all the reason I needed. Keep the content coming, love it!

i started playing 5 days ago, got already 67h and are on my 4th try that is the furthest. you made that in the first 5 minutes of the video xD glad i found you and your series is helping me out quite good but i got a few problems since english isnt my first language. i would appreciate a few tips for example: why are you using that many electrical doors? why are you filling out the space with the pipes like playing snake? 19:30 what are the metal plates for? anyway, its awesome what you have done and keep up the good work. i will just follow :)
Hey;) The mechanised doors won't allow any gases from flowing through when they are closed, contrary to the normal doors. I fill up the space with pipes either for cooling/heating up the liquid inside more efficiently or to have more liquid capacity in that space. The metal plates (drywall) is used to avoid gases from escaping into the vacuum behind or simply for decorating. Hope this helps;)
subscribed and liked! thanks for the vid man. Really a great game and I am happy that I am not the only one playing it and having fun in all these ways! Francis John got me into it, and you sir are making me keep at it :D
Awesome video! A new series idea could be some a series with a focus on the duplicants wants more needs(think awesome luxury aprtments but outhouses) and make updates like this with a story told from the duplicants perspective
That was the best challenge to watch, although only when compressed to one video I cannot infine doing one duplicant for that long.. You are very patient…
Pfft, the final cutscene showing a base full of duplicants and the final words mentioning ‘enough duplicants to start another colony’ is extremely amusing
18:32 are you using special materials for this. I'm still trying to tame a minor volcano and collect all it's igneous extrusion and i've had to crack it open multiple times because the steel autosweeper keeps overheating despite TWO turbines. Not sure how you're even doing this with 1 turbine as that failed for me everytime.
Really cool! But personally, I would change out the mod that just tints the buildings based on the material for the true tiles mod by aki, which completely changes the look of them and looks awesome =)
I never really know what to do and how to play this game... I want to get into it but I don't exactly know what to do next. So I ended up just playing and then dying to when I lost oxygen or that I don't have enough food, or that my buildings didn't really work. Whether that it causes temperature to rise, that it burns my Dupes, or causing the flood of liquids nearby to transfer their heat and then dealing with that, I never understood how to play this game...
one big question, how did you get refined metal before the metal refinery ? (you were placing smart baterries, sensors etc.) I've just started to explore that game and I'm really getting annoyed that I have to build a temporary metal refinery so I can have the first bits of refined metal and then I have to move everything up in my base so I can make a proper industrial section....
It is explained in the video, but essentially I couldn't leave the planetoid without the game registering a loss because there are no dupes on the main planetoid.
