I have had the VP9 for a while, and I love it. I just recently bought the Echelon, and it is a joy to shoot. I agree with you both, that it appears gun manufactures are starting to listen to the consumers and adding more features that people want and enjoy. Great video.
Credit should be given to HS Produkt who are the makers of the Echelon. Springfield's relationship with HS has also given them the Hellion (VHS), Hellcat (H11) and XD (HS2000).
Vp9 is way better than the echelon and the trigger is worlds better imo and its not close. I dont experience any issues with reset. I’ve never experienced trigger freeze with my vp9 and i shoot mine fast. My axg legion gives me trigger freeze every time i run it fast. I run my vpl almost as fast on bill drills as its not quite as controlled as the compd 320 and faster on plate racks as its lighter and more accurate. I bought the echelon and ran a box through it and traded it immediately for the used vp9 im talking about. I thought the echelon was crap! Didn’t care for it at all. It was snappy, way more felt recoil in hand and with a crap heavy trigger. Might as well buy a g19! I generally run atlas’s and i tell everyone how i cant believe how good the vp9 is for a polymer gun all the time! I’ve become a bit enamored by my vp9/vpl as im just amazed by how well it runs for what it is!
Glock is holding up and it's even older. Heck look at Walther, they have changed the externals, but the internals have been the same for quite some time.
Just picked up my echelon Gear Up package. The firearm shoots great, magazines are not expensive and holds the advertised amount of rounds unlike my Sig 365xl 17 round magazines that only fit 16.
Great comparison guys! I owned a VP9 optics ready for a couple years before I sold it. EVERYTHING you said about it was spot on!! Especially the trigger part. Almost as if you reviewed my specific pistol 😂 I’m giving the echelon a serious thought, but every pistol I get just gets relegsted to the safe because they never surpass my beloved p10c. Do you think that the echelon can dethrone the p10? Again; great job guys! #subbed
The p10c is always going to be a hard gun to beat. The echelon is not going to have as good of a grip and the trigger is definitely not going to be better than the p10c. However, there are things like the optic mount, sights,slide serrations,and a little softer shooting that make the echelon a great choice. I don’t know that one beats the other just because they are so different. I hope this helps!
VP9 did not shoot well for me. Didn’t like the way if felt in my hand and I wasn’t happy with the trigger. My CZ P10F is so far superior to the VP9. I just ordered an Echelon and I will see how it compares to the pistols I own currently.
I own an echelon, and have shot my bros VP9 match and regular VP9. The match is obviously, but not far better and the echelon is obviously better than the VP9
Nice video guys but at the heart of the matter there is no way a springfield can even come close to the durability and legacy of the Hk . I wish people would stop try to make carry guns into competition guns two different worlds and when s@#t goes down it will be like Clint Smith says you are going to crop your pants and slap that trigger until you run the gun dry
Get the with times my man. The echelon can and will keep up and even surpass the vp9 in performance. Not taking away from the vp9. But you know, I know every knows at this point, the gun is undeniable. echelon is a home run

I'm surprised how well the VP9 holds up being a 10 year old design.

Does the Echelon take other brand magazines ? Or does the Echelon only take magazines specifically for Echelon ?

All 5 of my xmacro mags held 17. I did leave 16 in for a week then I was able to put in the 17th.

There are different colors options available for the Echelon frames. They’re available in OD green and FDE.
I gave my son in law the FDE Echelon. Great looking piece.
