Friend of the channel let me borrow his Glock to compare to my VP9.
I don’t have tons of exposure to Glocks so this is just my observations of differences and similarities between the two.

My wife shoots all my pistols. When I ask her what guns she wants me to bring with us to the range, she never says "bring the Glock," but she always says, "bring the Lamborghini." Meaning, bring the HK.

Lamborghini is a partner of Audi, and the Gallardo and Audi R8 are "twins" like the Challanger and Camaro, so the HK/Lamborghini comparison is very apt.

Took a handgun basics training course, and shot a vp9. Instructor said "theres nothing more i can do for you" after blowing the center out of the target. (Only 5 yards but still). Reluctant to even try another gun
I’m 54 and been buying guns my whole life. I’ve bought tons of guns over the years. Multiple Sigs, H&Ks, Springfield 1911s, older S&Ws and several Glocks. I have only sold my Glocks and have every kept all others. There was nothing wrong with my Glocks there just not my preference. I bought my HK USP for 525 and Glocks were about 250 bucks in the early 90s. Now for 250-300 I see value in the Glock but now there prices are in the ballpark of higher end guns. As soon as everybody buys the Glock they replace sights, trigger and guide rod. In my opinion that doesn’t make sense now they are higher in price lower in value. If Glocks your thing by all means it’ll do everything it’s supposed to do and virtually indestructible. Just seems Glock guys think everything else sucks I don’t understand that. I’m kinda a Sig and HK fan but would have no problem carrying a Glock if needed. Love your channel

I've noticed that too, Glock buyers often buy one, then modify it. New sights, trigger, magwell, guide rod, re-stipple, undercut the trigger guard, peel-and-stick grip or sleeve, etc. HKs, most people just run them the way they come; I did that since my P30SK came with night sights out of the box, so I just bought 4 more 15 rd HK mags and called it good. I bought my G17gen5 blue label, but I'm not sure if I'd pay MSRP for it. I just left it stock including the plastic sights and bought 5 more mags for use as a range gun.
I started with glocks and 1911s over 25 years ago. Even competed with a 34 for many years. Dont own any of them anymore. They are great I just like Walther and HK more. Trigger, grip, factory sights... and every now and then they run rebates that make them the same price as a glock. Doubt Glock would even make my top 5 polymer guns with whats available today.
Glock's only advantage---simplicity
I have small hands; however, I have never shot a pistol better than I do with the HK-VP9. I find the release pads in the HK very convenient. Great video!

I love both but Glock's reputation for reliability and the fact it has been proven in military and civilian combat more than any other pistol by far wins me over in the carry or self defense department. The VP9, 1911s and several others feel really nice in the hand, shoot well and I tend to use them more for certain competitions. Guns are fun and guns are tools so pick the right one for each application.
FYI, HK is running a $200 rebate deal on the VP, P2000, and P30/P30L (but NOT the P30SK for some reason) through March 31, 2024. Rebate usable on the HK online store for mags, swag or whatever.
On this comparison, prices on these two aren't too far apart with similar sights and mag quantities. HK being slightly higher, but not much. Dimensionally, the VP9 is about 1.8 oz heavier, and the grip is slightly taller as well as being less slab-sided. I bought a G17gen5 instead of a G19, because my pinky doesn't quite all go on the grip with a G19 (semi-big hands). The grip texture in the VP9 is superior; it's a pattern of tiny crescents that won't abrade your belly nor feel slippery (you really need to try it to appreciate it), instead of grit or stipple, and you can adjust not only the backstrap but also the side panels. As both a Glock and HK owner (I 2 o'clock IWB carry a P30SK V3, since DA/SA is my preference for CCW), I think the reason there are so many grip sleeves and peel-and-stick grips available for Glocks is that the Glock grip leaves a lot to be desired both for texture and shape. My treasured and reliable 30+ year old G20gen2 has a rubber grip sleeve for that reason.
The other big difference between Glock and HK - a paddle mag release is easier to operate with or without gloves on, and less likely to be accidentally actuated. For a range gun you can install an extended release on the Glock, for a CCW gun that can have drawbacks.

I bought 2 vp9 (one night sight) for $1k with 5 17rd mags plus $400 HK store credit.
I’m pretty sure you just sold me on a vp9. These just became legal in my state (commie California🤮) and I can’t wait to pick one up. I want one in plum! That purple looks so mean!! I might just grab a vp9 Sk as well
Guns in my world is a tool. A tool to defend yourself and your family. For such a tool the GLOCK is second to none. Its combat accurate, reliable and durable like many modern pistols can say today, buts its simplicity enables you to fully strip the gun with only 1 tool. No hammer, screws and pin punchers. This is unseen! Self sustainable no cross threading issues. A real tool.
Ive shot Glocks olwnty of times when i worked in a gun shop and in a gun range. But when i went to get a striker fired 9mm, the HK felt sk much better, much better trigger, much ore ergonomic, the charging ears actually work, the mag release paddles sure work better then Glock. And HK quality. HK for the win.

I'm honestly between the first two for my first concealed carry, I'm 6'2" shot expert three times in the Marine corps, but I've never felt the need to carry until...recently. I wanna make sure I get something reliable and I love how they both feel in the hand sofar it's a tough choice to be honest but the HK has everything id want from factory besides a flashlight or a laser so that's about the only difference. In my opinion both are amazing guns and both feel right at home, but the ergos on the HK are just a little bit better, so it really depends
New to the G19 Gen 3. VP9 fan for years. I have a 2018 VP9SK I’ve carried every day since 2019 it’s a 2018 model. I prefer it over the full size with small side panels and back strap. Plan to get another full size VP9 as my first was stolen. Start with the 19 Gen 3 for security work until I can upgrade to a VP9.
It's great seeing another southpaw reviewer going over some fine firearms. I never have thought about reversing a magazine release because I always pushed the button with my trigger finger or middle primary hand finger. The longer Gen 4 Glock button is good for that, and using my trigger finger reinforces keeping my booger hook away from the trigger.
I have both and I love both. My 19 is The C version, ported. Both are accurate, reliable. I'll give the nod to The VP9 as far as ergonomics are concerned. It feels like part of Your hand. Great video.

I shot My Glock 20, 10mm last night, My VP9, 19C, and My CZ P10F. The VP9 smoked everything else! Grouped beautifully. Follow up shots were effortless. This has happened before. I used Geco 124 FMJ ammo(180 S&B for the 10mm). For all the 9mm guns. I've been shooting My VP9 more frequently than any other 9mm pistol.
I have the P30L and I love it! It’s molded to my hand with all the different panels offered.

You should look at the Gen5 Glocks. More and better features over the Gen4. Closes the gap a little. I love both the Gen5 Glock and VP9!

Gen 5 Glocks are the only Glocks that feel like a pistol.
Both are solid tools. Glock has to be the world leader (not favorite) due to customization options to personalize to your taste and the ease of finding parts. I would really like to see Glock 46 stateside for that rotating barrel option...that is a game changer imo...Beretta PX4 Storm and Grand Power use the system.

I wasn't a Glock fan. Nothing they offered interested me. Then I shot the 19x,...great gun! But it just can't near my h&k. I would use a 19x tho. If hK wasn't around lol. Well maybe if still go for my Springfields.

I love my Glocks but the triggers out of the box vary from decent to horrible. Even within the same generation and model. I don't mess too often with triggger kits or spring rate changes but the first thing I do is change out the trigger bar for an aftermarket, polished version. This is usually enough to make the difference, at least it has for me.
I have both pistols albeit older versions of both, so my HK holds 15 and shorter grip (I like this btw) and some of my glocks (I have a 23 and 2 19’s) lack finger grooves. To me the biggest difference between the two is ergonomics, as someone else mentioned. I have large gloves hands but my fingers are a little shorter than large and the “ brick feel “ is exactly what I experience. So for my hands Glock ergo’s suck. HK ergo’s (as you stated) feel wonderful to me. The other thing is the plastic sights. They just seem cheap and flimsy to me and something Glock could easily change. They functioned fine for me but I changed them out for steel night sights quickly. Glock is cheaper and no one makes a more reliable pistol. They are also more “modable” but in a CCW weapon I try to avoid most of that. So if you want night sights (Glock didn’t even offer them as a factory option at that time) or steel sights, by the time you pay for those the cost difference is smaller. Also I like the steel mags of HK better. I have never been a fan of the polymer mags of Glock although I have never had a failure either. As you can tell I’m an old man that likes steel! 90% of my guns are HK. I just bought a Glock 19x. Haven't used it yet so I'm not sure if I'll approve.
I tried to make Glocks work for me. No concerns about the reliability. However, the grip angle just never worked for me. And I hate the OEM triggers and sights. The HK P30 and VP9 series are so much more ergonomic for me, the trigger is better and the sights are better. My suggestion is the try both and get what works best for you. I also think the VP9 SK trigger is better than the full size VP9.

The Glock trigger reset is far superior to the mushy trigger VP9. It is more audible, tactile, and stronger. Especially the Gen 3, where there is no additional take up after reset, right at wall. The best combat trigger.
I keep getting recommended these videos even though I search up airsoft, strange.
I like a glock, I'm okay with the sights and trigger, but the ergonomics are not optimal. I currently run a canik sft but the vp9 is my next firearm.

Do you have small hands? I randomly got fed your videos and it seems we have the same preference. Everyone else on the internet seems to like glocks. Only CZ, HK and Walther work for me when it comes to plastic guns. M&P feels weird and snappy, 320 is too slippery and also snappy, and glock is a stove pipe machine with one hand.

I have both and although the HK is easier to shoot and is a better range gun, I carry the Glock. I also have a HK P30 so I am familiar with the HK's.
Thank you for the video comparison, your FDE VP9 is a straight out of the box high performance pistol that will eat 20 rounds in less than 2 seconds, that Glock would need a lot and cost just as much as the HK by the time you get a performance trigger, new slide spring kit and a light to mount on it so the weight is balanced correctly before it will shoot as fast as the HK VP9. The HK's only drawback and it's the same for the Glocks are in Arctic (-30 and below) conditions when open carrying they tend to freeze up with blowing snow and what not, the Springfields perform the best and are very resistant Arctic conditions. @@gracedagostino5231 When you fire one projectile every 1/2 second on a HK VP9 there is excessive take up after reset that's an attempt to restrict the rate your finger can physically manipulate the trigger action cycle, "clever" engineering. When the VP9 has its trigger pulled 10-15 times per second with your index finger the take up after reset becomes less than zero Inch A Millimeters. Sounds like BS but that does not make it any less real. It's really a Coca-Cola or Pepsi-Cola comparison personal preference will decide which is better in your hands. Both are very good service pistols either way. The Glock wins hands down when it comes to accessories without a doubt. Glock Beta C-Mag with 100 round double drums for 360bucks👍, HK VP9 100 round Beta C-Mags?.... 🦗🦗🦗
I understand what you are saying, I also have a HK P2000sk Lem with Gray Guns Short Reset, and a Springfield XD40 Service 4 inch, along with my Glock 26 all great guns. I adapt very well to the gun I’m shooting. Love that Glock reset, because I don’t think about it. So strong it literally pushes my finger to the wall for a quick follow up shot. Gaston Glock invented this reset, and nothing has improved it. Yes Canik and Walther might have shorter reset, but not as tactile, audible, strong, and positive as Glock. I have many metal guns I use for target shooting but Glock best self defense gun.@@bigslinking
I also wanted to agree with your point. My Springfield XD40 Service 4 inch also has additional take-up after reset, but when trained, it doesn’t slow my speed down at all. When the muzzle rises, as all guns do, by the time I’m back on target, have already taken up slack, and back on wall.@@bigslinking
I have a question is the low borax on the Glock the reason I get slide bite because I don't have a problem with CZ.
Is it an older gen Glock without a beavertail backstrap?
@@dashcammer4322 I have shot G19 gen 5 to G18 they all give me slide bite unless it is a clone like Shadow Systems.
I agree with your conclusion. Glock is a fine weapon and you cannot dispute their success….they sell more pistols than anyone. That said the HK is a more refined weapon. I prefer HK.
I will choose Glock for CCW even though I like VP9 much more. Glock is partially cocked which is a deal breaker, whereas HK is fully cocked and I don’t feel safe for carrying.
VP9 has a much smoother shot and better ergonomics. I still enjoy having both in my arsenal. Thank you for providing your honest feedback.

I prefer my P2000 V3 over my gen 3 Glock. Not saying Glock is bad it's just that I'm a lefty, plus the ergo of the H&K feels better for me. I want to check out the gen 5 G17 but not expecting it to beat out H&K. H&K is a legit premium polymer gun there is no need to replace anything. You get what you pay for.
How are you reviewing guns when you don't know that all glocks mags are interchangeable from gen 1 to gen5. It's been 40 years now.
I think Glock has a way better more tactile, audible, and stronger trigger reset. Especially on the Gen 3, where there is no additional take up after reset, your right at the wall.
My unpopular opinion is that glocks have good triggers- I prefer it to every striker fire I own.
@@tylersheppard5450 Agree it is a very under rated trigger that gets a lot of hate. To me it is the perfect self defense trigger. There is a reason that Glock kept the same trigger for 40 years, when they could have easily changed it.
@@gracedagostino5231 I carried my G19 for 2 years with my first agency until I switched to a p226 in 40. Although I am more accurate with the sig, I still prefer to shoot the Glock.
Glock has 35 years plus of reliability in Leo and military, but HK has better ergonomics that most people would agree with, but function and reability hast to go to Glock and yes, I am somewhat of a Glock fanboy but can’t go wrong with either one

I don’t understand how the VP9 fell out of favor. I can kinda get price argument, but it shoots better (which I understand is subjective) and feels better (which ironically contributes to its shootability)
And before anyone says the hight over bore bullshit. There’s a reason HK’s are still issued by militaries and law enforcement around the world over Glocks. Additionally I don’t know if you know this but most government contract purchasers and governments are cheap so they would rather buy the Glock 😂
Hey I dnt want to sway you to the dark side but STEYR m9 A-2 MF in every aspect / category / and phsical capability i.e. hand size finger length...ITS just far superior in my shooting and owning vp and an m-9 I HV to say a little disappointed in the VP still a well versed firearm but I find it lacking esp. On the trigger it's average Hv u shot a plain Jane m-2 off the assembly line it's damn near competition grade.recoil is as minimal as you can expect to receive without a compensator or light or gas pedal...if hv already reviewed this fire arm then I apologize for stealing 5 mins of O2 from you...people even avid shooter over look this manufacturer I can't figure on why ...now I will take into account tht th sights might throw many elsewhere but price point after market dot sights idk.... H&K mahe awesome fire arms thr claim to fame th golden ticket of course is an mp5 which is the the worst shooting POS if shot single fire now an auto is probably the most freakish smooth flat shooting firearm ever produced
In closing if you do a styer vid.head to head dnt put it up against a Glock it's shameful for Glock tht is ...I've got no rear sights by choice and 4800. Rnds throu the m-9 and lk th canik mete sft flawless reliability issues save the few times I did not shove the mag in firmly....
