Man I literally cried during the part where he's going to the bathroom to check on his daughter. I can't imagine an actual parent going through this game while they have a kid with a similar condition.
I had my daughter some weeks after I finished this game and it really messed with me. My daughter is half asian and she remembers the girl a little. And now she likes to sing...
This game was so good…my parents are from Taiwan, and the house decor feels so familiar and nostalgic. I also experienced the denial of my own mental illness and it made me cry at the end to see how far a parent will go to confirm their own denial and try different ways to resolve their child’s issues incorrectly. My own mom would inject me with iron supplements when I was a kid thinking that my depression stemmed from anemia…but it also did not work.
