Thanks for explaining Visage. I haven't beat it yet. The game is confusing to me. They just drop you in a house and you have to figure out what's going on. Just a video of games based on things. Just don't do a deep dive if it bothers you. Kazza actually covered alot of disturbing topics that are very intriguing. But as the saying goes, just because you had a bite of the supernatural sandwich doesn't mean you have to eat the whole thing 😉
There's another big reason why people enjoy horror games, movies, experiences, etc. in general; Once it's over your brain gives you a lot of dopamine to reward you for "surviving the threat", as it sees it, it does that to encourage you to do the same thing next time you're faced with a similar situation... Even if the thing you did was just sit there, as far as your brain is concerned, you survived unharmed and that's all that matters. This subconscious mechanism doesn't know the difference between simulated danger and real danger. This is also why horror games and movies often have a cycle of building up and releasing tension, this tricks the brain into releasing that dopamine over and over as it takes each scary moment as a separate incident that you survived. I've always been so fascinated by the ways in which we've unknowingly highjacked survival mechanisms for entertainment, then MUCH later we learn why we actually like that entertainment. lol
Murdered Soul Suspect and Visage are my favorite horror games. The other ones don't seem that interesting.. But damn, I love the story and gameplay of Visage, and the demons in Murdered. Those were terrifying.
I actually went to Key West and met Robert the doll. I did ask permission before taking a photo and I thought I was polite but apparently Robert didn't like my laugh of excitement. My mom and I were driving home a massive branch fell straight through our sunroof and mere inches away from hitting my knee. Luckily a cop was there and wrote us a statement for the insurance company and said "No one will believe this if I don't write it down." I'm not skeptical of paranormal, but I am skeptical of paranormal causing serious things like injuries or car accidents. But this incident was an exception. My mom says I'm crazy but I still think Robert had a hand in it. So keep this in mind, Robert does not like you laughing. Even if it's simply excitement.
I've watched a trailer of "Granny" and someone playing the game on RUclips. I've seen "Child's Play" and videos with Robert the doll in them. Also, why would the uncle treat her niece this way? I feel bad for one of the brothers in the first story.🙁
