I just saw him perform this live almost a week ago, and he sounded exactly the same. What you hear on the album is his actual voice, and he is just a funny and cool guy that delivered the best performance I've ever seen. I can't understand why he's so unknown.

Just found Matt Kearney for the first time today. Great lyrics, great voice -- why haven't I heard more about him?
Haha I'm wondering the same. I heard "Air I Breathe" on 106.9 The Light app today & looked him up. Found this one too. His voice is amazing & have seen comments that say he sounds the same at live shows as his recordings.
He was popular in the early 2000’s😂. So you may have missed it or something.

My mom and dad would play Mat Kearney a lot when I was a child. I’m not sure why but every time I’m worried about something if I’m about to pass out or something then this song will come into my head. Most notably the “breathe in and breathe out everybody moves this way just the same” part. This song holds so many memories and strong emotions with it. I associate it a lot with my parents especially and being a little girl. When I listen to this song I’m reminded about my dad calling me light eyes. He said when I was born that there was an undeniable light about them that he couldn’t describe. This song is very nostalgic and almost bittersweet to me. It will always hold a special place in my heart and I’m forever grateful for his music. I hope more people recognize Mat Kearney’s music and talent.

It's probably worth mentioning that the actress in this video is Q'orianka Kilcher who co-starred in "The New World" and has been featured in "Sons of Anarchy" and "Yellowstone" to name just a few of her screen credits.
My God- WHO IS THIS AMAZING GUY???? I musta been living under a bush to not hear about someone with such a beautiful voice before! The only reason I checked for this song was after hearing a tiny snippet on an ad for an English TV drama on telly at the mo. I don't even watch the show, but as soon as I heard those 2 lines, "Breathe in , Breathe out" I knew I couldn't rest until I found the amazing artist who sang them. And I had no idea I was in for such a treat. Fantabulous! Must check this guy out in a massive way!!
