I was in Lisbon and Portugal for almost a month in November. Wonderful country. I agree that the people are fantastic. Nicest people I’ve ever met.
Hello Chelsea. I was in Lisbon last year. Loved it. Walked all over. Took the metros. Buses. Went to Sintra. Your Palace of Pena. The Belem waterfront. The vibe is different. I wish I would have stayed longer than 4 days. Portugal is better than the life I've been living here in America. Lisboa is so friendly and hospital. The hills will work up your heart rate for sure. Lol. Great cardio. Great food. Great people. Great atmosphere. I'm thinking about moving there. You did a great job for your first video. I enjoyed watching. I like the video and I subscribed. @@chelseaulendo I'm on POC on Portugal and Black in Portugal groups. Both groups are great. They have a lot going on there as far as community venues and activities. And others sharing their experience living in Portugal. Pretty cool.
Omg, I was in Portugal the last part of November/ early December and made the exact same mistake getting on the wrong train on my way from Sintra. Was so lost and overwhelmed but eventually made it back to Lisbon with the help of sweet angels, hours later.😅 Really love your video, so peaceful and inspiring.

You remind me of my niece. It’s funny I also got lost comings back from Sinatra a lovely lady made sure I got on the right train, so very kind. LOVE Lisbon have been there 3 times and going back in September to go to school to study Portuguese. Then I will spend 10 days in Albuferia, great beach area. I mostly always travel alone so I will subscribe to see where you go next. All the best for the new year………..🤗🇨🇦

Thanks for sharing your beautiful video!! I was in Lisbon and Sintra in December and will be back in about 4-weeks. This time, it will be Lisbon & Porto. With regards to my trip to Sintra, I purchased a 3-days Lisbon Card that allowed me to ride all trams, local trains & buses at no extra charge. Additionally, I used it on the train to Sintra and on bus #434 from Sintra train station to Pena Palace, and on the 435 bus to Quinta de Regaleira. All of that doesn’t include the discount entrances to museums.

I got on the wrong train from Lisbon headed to Sintra. Guy on train helped direct me to the right one after riding a few stops.

Hi I just discovered your channel and I am interested in going to Lisbon this summer or late into the beginning of fall. I love watching the video because you were very informative and I'd like information that you can use when you go to different places. I'm still a little afraid to take a solo trip I'm 62 years old and thinking about doing it this summer and I really was thinking about doing it in Portugal.

As far as hostels go, it is definitely a great option !
That's my biggest fear with traveling solo is getting lost and finding no one to help me get to where I'm going because of language barriers or just no one willing to help but that's life we pray and God will always direct our paths and short things out Portugal is on my list thinking about going in November.
Lisbon was absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend it if you do get to go. And yes, getting lost was a little scary 😂but the locals were very helpful in getting me on the right track

This was really helpful! I'm traveling to Lisbon next week and planned on doing a day trip to Sintra as it was recommended to me. I am directionally challenged, so hoping I won't get confused with the train going back. Besides the castles, are there other aspects of Sintra you would recommend exploring? You also mentioned a app you used for translation, but I didn't see it in the description, would you mind sharing?

That apps used for translations were DeepL and Linguee! As for Sintra, I only views the castles, so I cannot recognize anything other than that 😂

I saw another blog and the couple shared an app called Move It that tells you which trains to take to get you around Portugal

Your voice is so hard to hear and the music is way louder, they don't match.
Also I can't say I enjoyed the speed up parts within the video, they were way too fast, but I do understand that it's already a long video.
Maybe you should have split the video in 3 parts.
Please don't take anything the wrong way, I'm well aware that's ur only video on ur channel, that you may not have any experience on posting videos.

Hope you don't mind me saying - your facial features speak of Eritrean or Ethiopian heritage, with their influence of Arab/Middle-Eastern genetics. Since the Moors built the Moorish castle in Sintra in the 10th century...perhaps some of your ancestors once upon a time were standing on that very same spot! Speaking of: "what were the people of the past thinking when they were once standing at the same location?"! I find that so interesting, too!

Hey! You should be fine. Most people speak English here , and in the off-chance that you come across a situation that requires you to speak Portuguese, you can use apps like DeepL to translate.

I stayed at a hotel called Hotel Lisboa and it was very cute and right in the heart of lisbon with walking distance to the train and other hot spots in the area
I returned from Lisbon recently after spending five nights there. It was ok, didn't blow me away, I wouldn't go again. It didn't help that I got robbed outside Arroios metro station the day before I was flying home. That was my first and last visit to Portugal. Re what you said about the local people being great...from my experience the only nice people I met were other tourists, the locals looked really miserable, they had no manners, and people walking their dogs were letting them shit everywhere and didn't pick it up.

Hi Sana, I brought a reasonable amount but honestly cash was only needed in Sinatra to pay the drivers. I didn't really need it anywhere else as my card worked just fine. I hope you have an amazing solo trip 💗

Hey there 👋🏽 I stayed at Hotel Lisboa and had a phenomenal experience. It was in a perfect location as it was practically right in the heart of the city. Walking distance from main attractions as well as about a 3 minute walk to the train which I took to Sintra
