you are 200% correct. but a big problem in India is also, which you didn't mention here, is that a Technical engineering CV is evaluated by a non-technical HR person. a bachelor's in psychology/history/physics/commerce etc + MBA in HR can't evaluate an experienced engineer's (civil, mechanical etc) cv, they don't even have any idea of the profile & how that can be valuable for the company. So many people have experienced this issue from the HR executives. if you also agree, please make a video on this topic.....the awareness must be circulated among the technical Heads, must reach the messages to the Top technical executives of the companies (especially I am talking about Core engineering). You are very correct people should get a hike based on their experience & abilities, and not on their preceding salary. This is a wrong practice and it should be stopped.

By the way a good video. So here's a point when you go for job outside India they told you how much their budget is and pay you accordingly. This practice of sharing salary slip and then deciding your increment is not good at all. This needs to be stopped immediately because employer want employees to work on any technology orb project that they want.
Indian recruiters act like they own the company. And they have made this norm of 30%. Someone who is under paid will never reach industry standards if they keep on asking Current CTC. Plus they would never tell you what their budget for that position is. Frustrating.

I request individuals in 🇮🇳 to not share your last CTC or expected CTC, instead go to Glassdoor and do research and tell HR to analyze as per your interview performance. Because of so much population and rush for jobs, this steps must be taken as mess can be seen as done by individuals who are sharing their last salary. Inflation, Tier 1 city expenses, relocation expenses, joinning bonus also candidates who are unawarw even do not ask if just HR says, we don't have such benefits which they are lying actually to get their incentives up by hiring a better candidate at low salry, so alwas remember candidates. This happens mainly because indian 🇮🇳 youths are not aware about their rights and standing to their expected CTC since 2012 till 2024 in 🇮🇳 I have seen stagnation in in hand salary. I never used to receive salary slips, as being a freelancer, I could reach them for the salary at their own office. The new company wants me to show last 3 months salary slip. Is it mandatory for a freelancer to show salary slip? I was not even a permanent employee in those companies. And the salary was a variable being a freelancer. My company does not provide salary slip, now placement cell asking for bank statement, but I don't think asking bank statement is out of their right.

Generally not much risk as such. But check your cibil report every 6 months to be sure no misuse has happened.
