    Omg nothing short of amazing. Talented writer and editor to stitch these voice clips together. I’m a die hard Star Trek fan and this really passes muster. I’m really impressed.

    Through so many means, Star Trek has been kept alive. It first aired just before my first child was born and now I am 76 with grandchildren...at least 2 generations of Star Trek fans with more adding on. I am delighted!

      JayDene Kail HELLO JayDene! (You have a Very Star Trek Universe Name!) THANK YOU, I am Robert, the developer behind 'Beyond Antares'. I am, just this week coming back to the project to finally finish part 3 and move beyond leading the way, jnto the Star Trek Fan Film *in VR* era! I saw so little actual support when I made this, that I hot discouraged and stepped away from it. But, rather than a lot of interest all at once, more like a slow burn.. people have discovered this over time, sending their compliment, and though *very few* ever send help to build better equipment, (a total of 5 people have sent between $20 and $50 in all these long years and THATS IT, not even enough to buy even a single GPU computer card. HOWEVER, when I look past that,. the compliments have accrued to the point where I really want to finish regardless of near universal lack of support, for the people who really liked it, and maybe couldn't afford to help make it happen, but want the rest of the story. SO, I'm biting the bullet and going to finish asap and then tackle animating the next 18 episodes (I already have ready & edited in audio form). So, to that end: *I sold most of my belongings and built one good modern computer to work on to complete Beyobd Antares!* My 78 year old Air Force Pilot Brother from Missouri, (who I lost recently, we were very close), loved Star Trek (and my work too). I sure wish I had finished this for him, if no other reason. But I am doing so now! I think he would be proud that even though I could not drum up any real support or help from the fans, I took the initiative and sold my precious telescope, some tools and and other things, for my work and my Art in order to be pro-active and move forward somehow. I will unfortunately need more power than just the one computer to render, at least one more to render WHILE I work, but will just have to hope I find some way to make that happen, I can't let lack of immediate enthusiasm from the Trek community hold me back anymore, I have to make my Art regardless. A viewer surprised me and paypal'd $20 last week-that was a big part of what spurred me on ever since, a tiny drop in the bucket, but a beginning and it shows me there is still real interest. I am waking up happy again and getting right to work so.. I'm back! It won't be long now, I have to build at least one second machine, so I can render (calculate final output) on one, while working and creating new scenes on the other, thats my biggest limitation right now, that I can't do both at the same time. The hours and days the computer is rendering are hours and days Lost, where I have no machine to work on. (Rendering takes 100% of computer resources). I literally have 18 more episodes, all with the real voices ready, a new Trelabe, a new Harry Mudd, a 2 part Klinhon ep. with JG H. Klingon actor. I could right now, easily be outputting one new episode every 3-4 months for 4+ years, *if only I had a few more modern computers.* It has always been such a struggle with every odd imaginable against me. 3 years battling cancer, never having or able to use *"the right tool for the job" as Mr. Scott would say,. But I'm Gonna Finish! :")* THANK YOU for your kind words!

    • @NextWorldVR

      netsfera Thank you so much! Ever since I have uploaded, I have had to spend more time deleting rude comments and 'complaints' than Animating! It is so nice to know that some people are smart enough to know what goes into a project like this, I have created many more full length stories (17 more after Beyond Antares, that are complete, but many more are possible) in Audio form (complete with sound effects and musical scoring re-recorded by the Royal Philharmonic at Abbey Road Studio!) All I need to do is Animate them. My plan is to do a Crowd Funding Campaign, in order to purchase the equipment and hire a few animators, to Re-Create the TOS Look PHOTOREALISTICALLY! The Star Trek 50th Anniversary, is coming right up, and now that Terminator:Genesys has shown it is finally possible to recreate beloved characters from our past - I think it is time to make the LOOK of the characters commensurate with the Audio miracle I have wrought, 18 NEW, Essentially LOST, 45-minute long, TOS EPISODES. We have to make this happen. This month I am making the plan. I will model it generally around the STAR TREK Captain PIKE Crowd Fund Campaign, and create a 'making of' incorporated into a video explaining the project etc. The first episode will be done by then - but I will explain that, as much work as I put into it, I STILL consider it PLACEHOLDER video. I freely admit it is almost nothing, Compared to what could be done with MORE THAN ONE COMPUTER... With one machine one to work with, I have been Ultimately Limited in every way. With multiple Machines however, the Limits Fall away and one can make the characters look and move ever more realistically! If you want to be involved, PLEASE Email me at Robert@StarFleet.com I need everything: from people simply helping to spread the word (Once the campaign has begun) to someone to actually Sit in front of a bluescreen (in perhaps an Admirals Uniform), and read a script about the project entreating people to get involved, to buy into the project. I plan to try to give as many creative PERKS as possible up to and including:Guest Voices (and Credit) in future episodes. Recreating a donators look as a RED SHIRT etc. for episodic inclusion.Producer credit for large donations or involvement.Thank you for your interest!

      Robert England It's so exciting to know that you have many ideas and a great desire to bring them to life. More exciting still know that plans are being refined. This work definitamente deserved an Emmy! I do not know practically nothing of the episodes originating from LPs and other sources that you mentioned and therefore, as I said before, it's like watching an episode that never aired. Hello I'm contacting you from my other account hope you're still interested because things are gonna get really interesting now that there's AI that is capable of recreating actors and we have many many books from both TOS and T and G that could be turned into CGI episodes, And with the technology available today and the training I have done for the past 4 years in unrelention and other high in tools it could even look like the actual episodes that's how close we can get CGI characters today. All The tools in power I wish I had back then I finally have today. You were one of the very few people who donated to the effort and I sure do appreciate it to this day! Do you have VR by any chance? And do you like TNG as well?

      Some, maybe most but DEFINATELY not all dialog from the game, this was a huge effort to make an 'episode' out of disjointed dialog! I re-ordered, edited extensively, added entire sections, made new sentences out of splicing etc.! Too bad Trek fans don't donate or I would have output the other 18 episodes by now with modern tools in Unreal Engine.

      Beau Wyatt Johnson Thank you Beau! The plan now, is to turn the other 18 (really!) episodes I have prepared (as audio teleplays) into 3D 360° VR 'Holodeck Stories'. I can't wait to Animate, Klingons, Hrry Mudd and Trelane! My funding requirements have gone down by 90% as technology has advanced so, since I started this. I hope I can find a small handful of people, to fund just a few thousand, with which I can output a new episode every 4 months for 4 and a half years! The best deal ever offered, LOL ;") Truly, I have developed 18, new full length Star episodes, each as complex and flowing as Beyond Antares, all unheard by anyone but me. I only hoped Beyond Antares would serve as prove (and be proof of concept) of what I have and have made. With the right tools and new techniques, I can improve the quality exponentially. I have developed and written a book on Fast Character Animatio. I am so ready yo get back to this if only I had One Good Machine! If you or anyone would like to donate towards the effort, I guarantee every penny will go towards hardware to achieve *our* goal. I am chomping at the bit to move forward, to gain access to a modern GPU and start to churn out footage like only modern equiptment will allow. *With as little as $1,200-$2,000 I can buy the cards (etc.) that I need to finish the final segment of Beyond Antares (with it's complex Alien Scene) Get Spock Rescued at Last, LOL and then get immediately started on the first VR Episode. I would even extend to anyone who helped with that amount or more, the honor of pretty much deciding which of the 18 episodes I should do first in VR! *Any help Paypal'd to Robert@**StarFleet.com* will generate a mountain of personal goodwill and fun shared exclusive production tidbits as I work, unleash a torrent of creativity, spread a Tsunami of Behind the scenes VR Vignettes and Technical Tutorials as I document my work *for my new Partner* and most importantly, give nearly another entire SEASON of full length TOS episodes to the fans. Surely no $1,200-$2,000 ever spent, generated so much, FUN!

    Blimy, having never played any of the games this is a rare treat to hear the original actors in something "brand new" to me. Have watched the first couple of minutes, but I'll wait until 3/3 is finished to enjoy it as a complete episode.
    Because the internet has made things so accessible these days, we've seen many fans getting together to make TOS come alive again. The great work of ST Phase2/New Voyages; ST Continues; the numerous pod casts (Mission Log is a fave of mine)...but this really is something potentially special - and all done by one bloke apparently! Well done to Robert, a trek fan who's going above and beyond all on his lonesome.
    It's a lot of money you're asking for and I hope you get some big hitters to help make it happen...just also hope that (as you're using original voices etc) you get everything sorted out morally and legally, I wouldn't donate myself unless that was all above board. We've seen how Thunderbirds has been re-born in CGI, 40 odd years after it was made - lets hope CBS will either give you the nod to continue without profit, or maybe even help out and take this on board.
    Good luck, LLAP!

      +Jesse How Hey Thanks :) I am glad to hear that. I am having a bad week. I saw a thread about my work at TrekBBS and it was a Large Group of people bitching about it and being vicious about details and missing the big picture that you seem to have no problem seeing... Thanks again!

      +Robert England I meant it. Finding the right audio alone must take a tremendous amount of time. I've done similar work without the cg, and it is not quick. I'm always looking to support my fellow trekkies. Do you need help or donations?

    • @NextWorldVR

      +Jesse How I greatly appreciate the offer. It has been a long lonely road -I still only have a Single Desktop to work on, and desperately need not only a portable computing solution (so I can get outside once in a while this summer and keep working), along with additional computers to help make the next big thing I am doing happen! ('Beyond Antares' is merely a proof of Concept!) The help I need is literally: more computing power (or modest funding to buy what I need) to make the look more 'Hollywood' - The only difference is they have 100's of machines where I have only one, to try to get the same 'look'! I would be happy with 10 and could create photo-realistically. There was recently an article about my work and my new Trek project (Set in the the Motion Picture Era) and a Venture to try to make the Holodeck Real (using Ultra-HD 3D VR) ;) If you would like to take a look: www.axanarproductions.com/fan-film-friday-star-trek-beyond-antares-part-1/ and part two is here: www.axanarproductions.com/fan-film-friday-star-trek-beyond-antares-part-2/ THANK YOU FOR THE INTEREST! Thanks! Although, I have 18 more 45-min episodes, all much better than Beyond Antares, 'in the can' and waiting for visuals. A new Harry Mudd ep, a new Trelane ep. A Klingon 2 parter, etc. , all with the original actors voices in new stories. I think I am going to end up making them as VR interactive Holodeck Adventures. It's slow going with so little support for pro equipment... (for instance in 2018, I got $10 from one person...) Happy Holidays!

      Karlisa Lampe Thank you! I have recently been working on part 3 every day. In all this time, I never got enough donations to buy a second computer (or enough even to buy a power supply for a new computer). Even after making part one, then part 2 then part 3 partial update (begging for a couple thousand dollars...) all the while Axanar gets over a million dollars for a trailer of cos-play people seated and talking into camera. (Their 1 day or week, of work compared to my years.) So I am continuing but it is VERY VERY SLOW. An Addititinal computer(s) could be set rendering 24/7. But with my only good machine, I can only afford a few hours in a week when I don't need my computer rendering for my VR work, to work, live etc. It's a real shame. I could output a new 45 minute episode (in 3D 360° VR) every 4-5 months for 4-5 years (after Beyond Antares I have 18 more full length prepared audio episodes waiting to animated..) if I had even modest appropriate equipment. If only the millions of Trek fans could manage a couple thousand dollars between them. Oh, I get so frustrated when I think about it. I almost want to switch to animating Star Wars (even though I can't stand what it became) rather than continue to feel so, throughly unappreciated, unwanted and unsupported. Thank you for your comments though. That's at least some sign i'm not wasting my time.

    • @AngelCatBaby
      @AngelCatBaby 6 лет назад

      No you are not wasting your time.....anything worth doing does sometimes take awhile to accomplish.....I know that one very well....:)))) I have been working on a SciFi story for over 15 yrs & someday I hope to be able to get it published.....it's been a work in progress, but a lot of things have gotten in the way of my keeping up with it.....such as surgeries, etc....just life in general....also not understanding some of the equipment part....at times I have had NO computer to work with at all....LOL When I 1st started out, I was using my typewriter....lots of errors....only thing I love the computer for is that it is easier to keep things together, edit, and/or cut & paste into other places to bring out what is more coherent than a bunch of messed up wording....In short, to make the story fall into place. I hope you will keep up with this, I just wish i could do what you are doing with the computers.....and since I'm old school, I don't know much of the programing part of it of the CGI one. I was taking up programing in college, but then it wasn't needed...more programs were being made easier to do .....LOL I have worked as a Graphic Artist though, with a publishing program and was building up ads and brochures. So hang in there and try not to get too discouraged.....things will come together one way or another...HIGH 5 to all your work.

      Karlisa Lampe That's great. Passion projects keep one going and are still there when one is down and really needs a reason to 'be'. You seem very nice. If I can help you with any Software, Tools, Plugins, 3D models, Textures, Motion Capture files, Music or Sound FX, to make your project move ahead, just let me know, I'lll prepare a 'digital care package' ;"). While I don't know what software you have tried, (Blender? Poser? DAZ3D?), may I be so bold as to suggest, the best, most profitable and fruitful tool you might be learning now is: Unreal Engine. They have recently made this multi-billion earning software FREE for All. Amazing. The whole pro package. All you have to do, is pay 10% *after* you make $100,000 on any game or movie (or VR Holodeck Adventure, Muuaahh! ;") Its quite amazing. You don't have to know how to program, they use a Visual way of making things happen that makes sense to visual Artists, called BLUEPRINT. You basically build simple logic chains: 'When this little box touchs that little box, turn this light on!' You can create worlds, (and your story). I have a massive library of Unreal Tutorial Videos, if you have any interest, they will get you up and running, literally in a day. One is actually called, Your First Day in Unreal Engine, a good one to start with naturally.,) When they teach you how to 'build a world', you build YOUR WORLD for Your Story instead, then at the end you have your own usable 'set', instead of whatever thing they made while teaching. (They make a Tile floor, But you choose wood, or whatever fits your plans etc, instead,..) I guess I felt like typing tonight LOL, But seriously consider looking into Unreal, if you have a story to tell, that (and 3dsmax) are the way to go. If you want to know (literally step by step) how to animate characters REALLY FAST and EASY in 3ds Max, to. Ause in Unreal worlds, , Let me know, I wrote an eBook (free) called: 'Live Take!: Realtime Artistic Performance Capture in 3ds Max'' I made it so someone (my neices and nephews..) who never touched 3ds Max, could have an animated character in just a few hours by following precuse steps with pictures.. Again, you could record some lines from YOUR story using your cell phone, and using that instead, make some scenes from your story come to life, maybe good enough to use to seek funding in a crowd funding campaign, etc. Now, with this project, 'Beyond Antares', (Episode one of my 'Star Trek: Year Five' 19-episode series). (!!!) I am stuck with finishing Beyond Antares in the old fashioned 'Render one frame at a time using the few CPU Cores'. But the next episodes I make, will be in UNREAL Engine! (which, instead of slowly rendering one frame at a time on a CPU's few cores, uses a GPU's Thousands of cores to make the thing just HAPPEN in REALTIME. That when, you can ENTER your scene in VR and move things how you want them, animate by just picking things up and moving them. Also of course, you can release AS a 'Holodeck' Adventure in VR! I LOVE Unreal. (btw I am not affiliated with Unreal. Yet. lol..) Oh, it's free I forgot.. HAHA ;") Have a good night and Thanks again! Cheered me up..

      Karlisa Lampe If you want more information about the next 18 episodes, (made about a million times faster using GPUs!) Awww! I have 17 full length episodes ready including a Klingon two-parter. My idea was to make this one, to prove that I have the capability to do it, and then do the other episodes not just in video like this, but also in VR like Holodeck adventures and make the person watching it a part of the adventure a redshirt or that kind of thing but I after doing hundreds and hundreds of man-hours to make Beyond Antares I was never able to finish it because once I got to the really complex part, rendering the alien World with ithundreds of effects of thousands of objects and I wasn't really able to render but a little bit of that with the home computer I had and still have in all this time no one donated enough for me to even buy a little extra hard drive space or mousepad so the project kind of died of unnatural death I'm ready to pick it up and continue at any time but right now I have to delete old work in order to make anything new because I don't have any resources especially after a year of being stuck at home with covid-19 time learning Unreal Engine so I can now make the Enterprise in VR I can make the episodes in the VR I can make anything in VR but I need modern computing power.

    Not sure, but I seem to remember a recent RUclips article about William Shatner passing away. I think it was within the past two months and probably less than a month ago. Most of that first series cast is gone now. I think Walter Koenig is still around, though, but he was the youngest. Gene Roddenberry created something really special that took on a life of its own. I'm glad that he lived long enough to see how great his creation was.😊

      it is the real deal.all the real voices., in addition to voices from the 90's games, I have created a database that allowed to get them to say pretty much anything and together with all the games, shows and movies I was about to make a 4th season of TOS, but after all that work amd making this as proof, no one donated enough for a Computer Mouse, much less the workstation i would have needed to keep going. 18 more full length episodes, each better than this, will go to the grave with me I guess.

    GREAT JOB I suppose it could be possible to create entirely new animated stories by using existing audio and video from the TV show, cartoon and movies. i would love to see an original story or two done using the chemistry of the 1966 version. What I mean by chemistry is to capture all the elements that made the show poplar such as the sound effects, music, lighting effects, attitudes, and of course, stories. It would be difficult to accomplish all of this but it would be worth a try.

    Amazing work.. not easy to do this that's for sure so well done getting what you have done? One question.. why if the cast did all the recordings of the episodes here why did they not film them as normal? Seems so odd for them to do the acting as a episode was done but not film it too?

I now have the ability to recreate the characters, in photo-real manner, use AI to give them personalities and the correct voices... I've even turned Majel Barrett voice into a text-to-speech computer voice! I'm going to be releasing 1701 as a VR Adventure soon. So you have VR yet? :)

      Hey thanks! Most people just think 'video game audio', but it was a lot of work! It took me FOREVER to find Majel Barrett saying the word 'Maelstrom'!!! (So I could add to the ships computer readout and honour Khaaaannnn!). Right now, I am recreating the Enterprise D in Excruciating Detail, as everything I have seen out there was limited realism, and when I have a real VR device like a Star One VR, I want to be able to BE on the Enterprise! Photorealistically. I just got it so I can walk and talk On the Enterprise, Wearing Picards body in VR. (hey I should make it an Avatar for VR Chat etc ;). Beyond Antares is what I could do 5 years ago with a single desktop computer... Now: I am expert in Unreal Engine and able to do stuff much better And in Real Time!!! ;"). I wish there was a small of vetted, Non-CBS employee, Trek fans I could share my VR Art with. I'm afraid the CBS Nazis will try to tell me I can't create! Way to keep a franchise alive huh? Using cease and desists, Send your most dedicated fan base to black market and into hiding LOL...

      @@tassadro I was always going to finish, I have 18 40-min episodes prepared... (As audio teleplays...). This was the LEAST of them, the throw away one to use as proof of concept... I planned to do the rest in VR as interactive holodeck 'adventures'. The Alien was too complex to render with my old computer so I triedvfor years to get help, but I never got even enough donations to help to buy a hard drive, even after a 2-part article from trek writer Jonathan Lane. Then Axanar came along and destroyed me... It would be the perfect project on lockdown, but I Literally have Zero Hard Drive space, I have to kill work to make new work.. so. I have to prioritize.

      Hello, Very soon now. Will use the episode to try to get frowd funded to nake the other 17 45-minute episodes I have prepared and ready to animate in Photorealistic 3D on the order of the new Terminator and CGI Arnold. Imagine CGI Trek Actors, WITH their real voices in 18+ full length episodes. It has to be made. If just the first 30 minutes of Captain Pike can get $50,000+ Surely this has a place in Trekkers Hearts, mayne even in actual Cannon. It is after all, them! Please subscribe, I will contact you upon completion and request your help Spreading the word etc. Thank you for the interest!

      I just saw this, THANK YOU! I have put many feelers out to try to get 3D models, I wanted to create the next 18 45-minute episodes in 3D virtual reality and set them in the Motion Picture era, (!!!) but no one has responded even to help out with a single 3D model even of the Refit Bridge, much less a high end CGI character. No one sent anything to help after that article came out, even hardware wise. One very old Dell that doesn't work. Alas, I think the project is dead.. If I have more computing power someday in the future, I will complete Beyond Antares, but the alien dimension Spock is trapped in, is very complex to render with many layers and surprises, I can't render it with my 2 computers only. Turns out: 'if you build it, they won't come!'

      Thank you! Sometime about when CBS 'cease and desist' ordered my favorite thing ever, the Fan made: Star Trek TNG VR (Stage 9) be summarily stopped (and never spoken again) , or when they sued Star Trek Axanar for existiig, Or when they made the Klingons bald with rubber masks, or when they decapitated an infant ... I just sort of lost my Trekkiness... Right now I am thinking about recreating the world of The Goonies in VR (free....) I am eternally building my OWN Enterprise D in VR (but afraid to share lest I too get 'cease and desisited'). Worst of all, I never got enough help from viewers, to buy a Hard Drive, much less the powerful computer I needed (still need) to do the more elaborate scenes. I created nearly an entire new episode and get nothing, Axanar shows 20 minutes of talking heads and gets a milliion dollars,... Sorry,.. i'm depressed I guess. Dealing with devastating dental pain but no where I go can help, or will me,. I am likely not long for this world. I should hand off all the work I did to some other animator, but it feels like a cursed project... I was SO EXCITED to make something that had all the real voices of the crew, and to have nearly a full season of episodes in terms of audio? A dream... But the interest was never really there, or I didn't have the confidence or know-how to access ... ? I might just release the audio of part 3 for the sake of completion. Anyways, Thank You. It's nice to know someone enjoyed it. -Robert

    How did you get all the voices including the ones who passed away? Did you find actors who could do good impressions of them?

    • @NextWorldVR
      @NextWorldVR  2 года назад +1

      Hello m! Thanks for the interest. No it's actually all really them! (Except a few lines from the transporter chief) The core of the 18 stories, I got from the old DOS games they did the voices for, but that didn't sell well. Then, in addition (to fill in the blanks and buff out the story), over a long time I captured nearly every word, every actor ever spoke (that was recorded...) With all of that I made a metadata database, so while editing, I could use text help to drive my audio database. Most importantly, I had found multiple inflections for most words. So, I'd used that as a Metadata variable. So say for McCoy saying the word 'Captain' there might be 27 different inflections, available, so I would write captain and then I have a drop-down where I can pick between one and 27 and so by testing, I pick the one that works! I have 17 more full episodes, with audio edited just like this one, (this is the least interesting of the bunch, I didn't want to 'learn how to do it' on the Klingon 2 part episode, or the new Trelane story with the actual actor...). The Star Trek fan film writer Jonathan Lane wrote a two-part article about my efforts and how I pulled it off trying to get me some computer upgrades trying to get people to send some help some Hardware so I could make it all happen the alien scene would Spock turned out to be very hard to render with just one computer. I'll paste links to both articles below. But even with the two articles of info and even having made the first episode, I never did get to upgrade my computer now even 7 years later I'm still working on the same machine. Axonar films people talking at a desk over a weekend talking heads and got a million dollars, I did hundreds of man hours on this and no one donated enough to even buy a good hard drive! Perhaps I'll finish it someday when I'm really old and have the time and the hardware. I essentially created a fourth season of the original series, 18 more full length episodes with the actual actor's voices, I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
      I created the original ship in VR too, I couldn't give it away!
      These 17 episodes in audio form will probably go to the grave with me. And the way my life's been going that won't be long from now.
      Thanks again for the interest!. I wish someone was interested enough to donate some Hardware or $ for hardware. I'd have to do it in my free time, but I'd get right back to it if I got any support.
