Hi Nancy and thanks. Overall, it took about a year to film, though we shot all Giles' scenes and the exteriors over a single 3 day weekend.
Post production took a few years, and was mainly held up by the need to replace a lot of the dialogue due to sound problems.
Giles wasn't a stunt double for Mr Stewart, but does work as an impersonator.

Thank you, it's always nice to hear someone enjoys what we're doing. Alas, no comments from Sir Patrick yet yet. ;)
As to the other comments, I suspect he or she was just trying to be funny, but the admin has deleted it anyway. Basic rule, if you wouldn't say it to someone's face, it's probably not a good idea to say it online. :)

I enjoyed this episode and I'll add my "Nice Picard" to everyone else's chorus. I especially liked the follow up on the T'Bruin (sp?) from "Transitions and Lamentations." And the reveal reminded me of the the type of story element from TNG's "The Chase" with a more narrow focus, which I liked!
As a constructive critique, I think the Picard/Hunter dislike was resolved a little abruptly, even if the way it was done was very Picard-like and his reasoning was appropriate. It just seemed to come out of the blue. I know the ep is only 30 minutes but it would have been nice to see Picard struggle with that realization a bit before he spoke with Hunter about it.
The filming and the look of the sets is better this episode. I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Transitions and Lamentation is still my fave but keep going, Nick and crew! This is a wonderful corner of the Star Trek universe and it deserves more delving into!

I can accept that people have trouble with the accents, since it's different to what we're used to seeing. But it's really no different than the majority having American accents.
It's also worth noting, that the actors are not all from the same part of Scotland, they're not even all Scottish. ;)

I usually don't watch Star Trek fan films, but Intrepid is so compelling. Thank you, Nick Cook, for helping to create such a fine addition to the saga. But I was just wondering, Mr. Cook, if you have ever heard from Patrick Stewart about "The Stone Unturned"? And I was also wondering, Mr. Cook, if you have ever thought about finding SantomPh and punching him out for insulting your wife (I happen to think she is quite lovely, if you don't mind my saying so, sir).

I don't use those, I did in the past, gave all sorts a try, like Bryce for landscapes, 3D Max, but I feel Lightwave gives me greater control and the UI is more intuitive to me. I did at some point have 5 PCs running a single task using Lightwaves Network Rendering tool called Screamernet, but the power consumption, heat, noise etc were too much to keep as a constant setup. In the future I might network a better setup. Render times vary depending on quality, particles and objects in the project

Hello, Mr. Cook. I believe I may owe you an apology--because, of all the times I have watched "The Stone Unturned," I never once thought to ask about the dedication at the beginning. Certainly, the production of a good episode is important; but the memory of a fallen (friend, I assume) is more so. However, if you would rather not speak of it, then perhaps it was improper of me to ask. In any case, my apologies and condolences.

10:47 i really hate to point this out but (1) this guy standing behind the tactical console is wearing the wrong star fleet uniform and (2) where are the other 2 command chairs theres 3 one for the captain the other 2nd is for the first officer and the 3rd is for ether the doctor or the chief engineer and (3) why cant you use the voyagers set ? or did the Axanar/CBS law suite mess every thing up

    • @StarShipIntrepid
      @StarShipIntrepid  3 года назад +1

      Point away. :)
Those are all creative decisions, though I get not everyone will agree with them. The TNG uniforms continued to be used from time to time on DS9 even after the First Contact uniforms were introduced. And I like them, so we have used them sporadically when we feel like it.
Intrepid isn’t Voyager, so doesn’t necessarily need the exact same bridge. And honestly, I never liked the two seat set up Voyager had. We would have three chairs, but we actually haven’t had the room to do that properly in the space we were filming in. :)
As to the Axanar law suit, that’s never really had any impact on what we’re doing,: and this was shot many years before all that happened. :)
Thanks for watching, and for your comment. :)

Hello, Mr. Cook. If you and Lucie don't know about it yet, you have got to check out "Star Trek Continues" the next time you are on RUclips. It's a fan production that continues the adventures of Kirk and company during their original five-year mission. I mean, the writing is so sharp, the acting so compelling, the sets so detailed that you will feel like you are watching a newly discovered lost episode--believe me, you won't regret it (don't worry, I'll still watch Intrepid as often as I can).

Hello, Mr. Cook. I realize that most people who post here usually talk specifically about Intrepid, but I hope you don't mind my talking about Star Trek in general--specifically, the philosophy of Gene Roddenberry. As we all know, he believed that humanity would improve with time--"as we mature," as he was fond of saying. Connsidering all the bad things that have been happening recently, I just have to wonder if Mr. Roddenberry was correct. This has been one of those days I doubt it all.

I know that you and Lucie know about Star Trek Continues, but I just want to strongly encourage you to watch their second episode "Lolani" if you haven't already. It's powerful and moving, and it will leave you thinking about very important issues--just as Star Trek always has. Don't worry--even though I think that Star Trek Continues is the best webseries based on Jim Kirk's adventures, I still think that Intrepid is the best Next Generation-based web series. Thank you, and good day!

Hello, Mr. Cook. I was just wondering if you and your wife have ever visited my hometown, New York City. If you haven't, there is certainly much to see. However, I am hoping that--if you ever come to New York--you would make a point of visiting the great air and space museum on the West Side of Manhattan. Why, you ask? Because the museum is housed aboard the US Navy aircraft carrier USS Intrepid--and it is also currently displaying the prototype space shuttle orbiter Enterprise!
