The best part by far was when the Excelsior class ship came in, I swear it gave me goose bumps. Now it is obvious that you guys are not pros or anything, but this entire thing screams effort, and that is what is important, I never felt like you guys were lazy on this, great job!
Visual effects were really good, and the Klingon Captain really sold his part well, my favourite part was the reaction to the loose tongue line because it ended this with a nice laugh. Respects.
A very nice production with a fine mix of acting, special effects and wonderful lead up to the reveal. The mentioned, 'official' mission was perfectly placed, and not overly stressed and made the appearance of the starfleet vessel at the end not a deus ex machina, but part of the cunning plan. Nice costumes, loved that era look, great sets and the cgi ships all around. Beautiful work and my hat is off to the cast and crew of this production. I hope you'll make more.
I have to say, this was certainly one of the better efforts I've seen to date... the acting was good enough to get the job done... not bad at all, but also not over-acted, either. I think both actors did a great job! Your color filter was spot-on... the colors of the uniforms were true and vibrant, and the Runabout cockpit set was extremely good for a short fanfilm like this... I also thought that the Klingon makeup was absolutely astounding, again, for a fanfilm... it was truly on the same level of quality as the Klingon makeups we saw on TNG and DS9... great job, all around! Please make some more!
I’m constantly being shocked by the quality of the special effects of these fan films. Exponentially, these effects seems to improve at ever increasing rates.
So why was the security officer not privy to security matters? And wanting to give chase to a Bird of Prey in a Runabout?? Aside from these points, the security officer's inability to act convincingly this was quite entertaining and left me wanting more :)
Top notch video and really intriguing story. I think that this is a great reminder that a production doesn't have to be long to be good and it really was enjoyable enough that I wanted to know more. Great job and please continue. There are a lot of good ideas to explore!
This is very well done, especially the space scenes! And well, of course these guys are not professional actors but I think they did a pretty good job. This video was most entertaining and I enjoyed watching it. Isn't that what's it all about? So thank you for your efforts. Very good!
Terrific job, very glad to have been a supporter! Wonderful work. As I've always maintained, many short films are far superior than feature-length films.
Well done ! I was THERE - the intended result, I'm sure. The presence of the other ship in the forward viewports and the excellent Klingon characterizations, along with the interior and exterior contexts AND the brief glance at the runabout from the Klingon viewscreen really added well to the illusion ! WELL DONE !
Glad you liked the film, we all put a lot of effort into this one! :D The dialogue volume has been the main critiscm, we'll have to work on that for the next one :p And if there were any problems with the acting, then the blame lies with the director :p
I'm with all of the other positive fan comments, Enjoyed it and would like to see more. thank you for bring this to us, and for your work in making this so.
Great acting, good effects and great set, story is quite ok too, my compliments Almost forgot: the Klingon general really looked like a Klingon and, I don’t know if it was intentional, but reminded me a lot of Gowron.
Thanks for the nice comments! :) I will be creating a Making-Of that will be available on the Kickstarter backers DVD, and at a later date released onto RUclips, which should provide a more detailed insight into the making of this film. But I can still answer your questions now, the programs we used were Maya, After Effects, and PremierePro for video, and the wood was bought from Wickes :) As for tips, it depends, try not to rely on VFX too much, make what you can for real :D
Very well done, great effort to portray Star Trek under the current gudilines. Crew stories can be built around many crew sets. A year in the life of a ship could be done again and again. Thank you so much for your efforts.
I'm watching this before the recently released part 2. I have to say, this was really fun! You made the most of the limited sets, the characters were believable and well acted, the ship effects were gorgeous! I particularly liked how the BOP took damage from the USS Longshanks. And familiar British accents all round! :-)
Cheers mate! The shorter sequences took maybe 3 days to render out, the opening sequence took considerably longer :p We just wanted to pay homage to our favourite tv series, we hope we've done it justice :)
I was expecting it slightly longer, but you guys did a great job with the video. I'm so glad to have given so much to make this happen. Q'apla! (Not to mention free promotion for the adventure game movement on Kickstarter)
MAN I'll give you guys a 9.5 out of ten only cause I felt it was a bit exposition heavy at the beginning but everything else acting effects and everything was just amazing
Congratulations guys. Way better then my expectations! If possible please adjust background music level. In some part, I can hardly hear the dialogue compared to the music. Thanks for the wonderful job again.
Very nice work. Story, CGI, prosthetics, interiors. Plus, this is one of the very few fanfilms where the Klingon actually seems Klingon thanks to the actor - thumbs up! Any more planned?
+Subspace scifi fanklub Cheers! I'm sure Stu will be happy to hear that :) We're hoping to have a sequel to this start shooting this year, so hopefully they'll be something soon! :)
Star Trek lives on youtube !!!!!
The Klingons was so on point in appearance and demeanor. I enjoyed the humor and the plot.

It was such a pleasure to be able to work with my good friend Cory Watterson on the music for this film. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity.

one of the best star trek fan fan films ive seen in a while
The set and costumes are great, too!
Gives you appreciation for how much work really goes into the films and t.v. episodes we love.
The Klingon was excellent, just like one off of the TV. Well done guys.
Excellent work all around. The acting was wonderful the graphics and CGI were top-notch.
Not a bad fan film. decent graphics and good story line.
Damn! this was good. To the point, great special effect, Fairly good acting, nice video.
This is WAY better than that Star Trek Renegades Of God and Men thing I just watched. Acting, animation, Klingons, everything. Good job
I LOVED the plot twist
I’m constantly being shocked by the quality of the special effects of these fan films. Exponentially, these effects seems to improve at ever increasing rates.
Great work, proud to be a part of it
Good work. I hope we'll see more.
That general Karloff was awesome! Kablah!

Wow! Very well done. I hope there's more....
This is a very good short film ! Very well done ! Please make some more like this !

Excellent job! CBS may have the rights but you have the ingenuity and that's what counts!
Well done! The shorter format was perfect; the costumes and backgrounds superb and the acting was good.

Awesome Battle Scenes :)
Please make more. The acting and the script was hilarious.

You need a part two! 👍🏻
Part 2 is online now.
Very nice video. Thanks to all involved.
Excellent job!!
I cant believe this, it could literally be a new series
Not too shabby at all. Excellent work! It was really nice to see a TNG/DS9 era production.
Great job and I am proud to have been a Kickstarter backer on this project!
Cheers mate! The shorter sequences took maybe 3 days to render out, the opening sequence took considerably longer :p
We just wanted to pay homage to our favourite tv series, we hope we've done it justice :)
Well done. A fine little adventure. The only nit I have is back-lighting the non-command panels to give the appearance that they are operational.
Sweet film.
I was expecting it slightly longer, but you guys did a great job with the video. I'm so glad to have given so much to make this happen. Q'apla!

The music is a little loud compared to the dialogue. But, otherwise, this is EXCELLENT!
Klingon makeup was the best part.
That was great
Very nice work. Story, CGI, prosthetics, interiors. Plus, this is one of the very few fanfilms where the Klingon actually seems Klingon thanks to the actor - thumbs up! Any more planned?

aside from the wrinkled Starfleet uniforms?
Make More!!
Nicely Done !!!
Nice. A few places the music made it hard to hear to dialogue... but excellent first effort overall.
This is awesome!!!!!
Nicely done!
Good job! I used to make a fanfilm series called Star Track, took a comedic approach.
Audio could have been better but was really good and I enjoyed watching it!
at 5.47 he says "Ji'yaj" which means "I understand"... the actual word for Fire is "BaH!"
Hoping this is the trailer for a longer film. Great work all around!! :D
