Very thorough!!! Learning to sew is fun but can be very frustrating especially if the machine is not always user-friendly
    Great job !!!

Nice little introduction to the machine. I've been sewing for quite a while and have had some experience with motors, it may be twitchy as the motor has quite a high current rating which means that it takes quite a bit to get it going. Once going it can relax off a little. If it had a slightly lower rated motor it would be smoother, but that also means less ability on thicker fabrics but if it is beginners using it then sewing up thick and difficult fabrics I don't imagine to be an issue. Enjoyed your video.

What machine would you recommend for an intermediate sewer. I want to to sew leather and denim.

I love the Juki G220 as a good mid range that has a lot of power of functionality.

What's on the market today is NOT your grandma's Singer! They are mass marketed and relying on a generations old reputation of quality. AVOID Singer machines.
