I curb side a sewing machine, someone threw out a Singer 737 and my heart would not let a sewing machine get picked up by the garbage man. I found you as I wanted to see how it works before I play with it. I never woulg have figured out the bobbin . It works so beautifully. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Keep inspiring.
Grazie!!! Oggi me l ha regalata una signora che non la usa più. Ho dovuto leggere le istruzioni e grazie a questo suo tutorial, riesco a capire di più. Grazie.
Thank you so much!!! I have been staring at my 750 for over a year, intimidated to get started. I feel ready and super excited now. I can't wait to learn more
Great Content! I've been using my mother's Singer755 since I was 12yrs old. I have the original manual from 1974 and it reads like you should already know how to use the machine. I've only used it for straight stitching but now ready to master it. Your book appears much more comprehensive.
Thank you so much for the video! I'm using my grandma's sewing machine--same model but with some slight differences to yours. Can't tell you how many hours of cursing I've spent trying to figure things out. Sad to say I wasn't even threading the machine properly until I saw your video. Thank you soooo much for putting this together!
I really enjoy watching your videos. And I love these machines. I have a few T&S myself. And although they have a somewhat dubious reputation here in the United States. Mostly because Singer went from metal to nylon gears. They're still very good machines. You're lucky to be able to have this German one. I've never seen a free arm 700 series. I don't think that they were available here in America. Or if they were, it must have been a special order. Enjoy your videos and keep the great content coming.
Thanks. I always find it interesting that Singer got a hard time for using nylon gears when other brands, even Bernina, were doing the same thing at the same time.
The robin egg blue 347 and 348 that's when they went to that plastic gear the other model had a metal gear but all of the plastic gears I've seen are disintegrated the other model is still going
This machine sounds remarkably smooth compared to some of the others you have!! Its kinda odd how they are all made from the 400 series but with much more streamlined controls on the front. I remember these when they first cam out and they were HORRENDOUSLY expensive!
Found a Singer 720 in friends flat when clearing it, your videos on the 700 range have been very useful & I find the machine quite easy to use. Not sure what all the attachments are for especially the plastic inserts that create the stitch patterns. Its a very well made machine though.
Thanks so much for the detailed tutorial! I have a problem with the selection of the stitching patterns. The knob, when not pushed in, can be turned which i guess shouldn‘t be. When pushing it in and turning to a different mode , it doesn‘t „click“ in. The result is that it is very had to tell which pattern is slected and it is even harder to change it. Sometimes i push it in and turn around from left to right and it doesn’t change the pattern at all. I don‘t know if you had issues like that before with the machine. Would be great if you have a tip! Thanks a lot in advance 🙃
Hi In Stitches. I've found your videos so informative...many thanks. Can you help me with THIS, at all...I haven't been able to locate any of your videos that deal with it: ...I have a lovely 720 T&S which I felt I'd brought back into good working order but I'm not convinced that it's 'longest stitch' is as long as it should be; can you point me towards any directions/tutorials etc that show me how to adjust the 'draw' of the feed dogs, please? Many Thanks, again
Thank you so much you are Awesome I when to the goodwill and found a singer 758 I turned it on and it worked I got it wow this sewing machine is crazy looking but with your help I'm doing okay. I have a singer 513 and The thread is always getting caught and I really like it but unfortunately I'm going to look up a video of yours on how to salve this thread problem or maybe you could give me a help God bless you you are great
Thank you for your time again you are very awesome. Question do you have 513 stylist by singer I have one but the thread keeps getting bunch up in the bottom can you help me. Be bless Shabbat Shalom
I have this exact beauty and managed to do the whole maintenance thanks to you. I have a problem i cant seem to fix which is the needle goes half way down but wont go all the way. How can i fix this please? I did manage to wind a bobbing amd everything. Please help.
I’ve got it threaded and made a little bit of a bobbin. I even got it to catch the bottom thread, but I guess it got caught up and cut off. And the rubber u dear my presser foot fell apart and I keep smelling burnt rubber every time I try and make a bobbin
Hi, great videos! Can you do more in-depth on touch and sew 600 series? Tensions, oiling , proper way to clean, etc. At this time there are no repair places open. I’d love to use my 626. Thank you
Nice, I have a problem with 784, the bobbin winding keeps getting stuck in thread (thread escapes over the winding and starts multiple weeding about 2-5 times until motor cannot anymore pull more thread and grinds to hold. Is there a common trick to fix this?
Very nice video! I have a touch and sew and the button that moves from winding to sewing is so hard to move is there a way to loosen that up a bit? Thanks for any info!
I have a Singer 758 and 756...both have problems with turning the stitch length dial...any help would be appreciated...on the 756 I can't turn the dial to the setting to do the flex stitches.
Not sure if mentioned but can feed dogs be dropped for sewing on a button or does the needle plate have to be changed? I am not getting good traction from the rubber dogs, perhaps metal gripper type can be substituted?
Feed dogs can't be dropped on these models so the throat plate needs to be changed. Metal feed dogs could be substituted. The model 720 came with metal feed dogs. Thanks.
My sister has a 770 Stylist with the threading on the top of the machine. We have been looking for a manual. Any idea where we can get one? Can find the one with the bobbin shown in this video, but does not help for her machine.
If your roll of thread does not have a slit for retaining the thread how does one put the thread in? I cannot get the thread to maintain any tension (no slit in my roll of thread) since it just rolls freely :/
Bonjour, Je voudrais savoir s'il était possible d'arrêter le mouvement de l'aiguille pendant le remplissage de la cannette ? J'ai cassé plusieurs aiguilles en le faisant...🥺 merci d'avance !😉
I have a 750 and can’t seem to figure out why the top thread won’t grab the bottom thread. Have any idea what it could be? I followed the video correctly. I even did it again in case I missed something.
The bobbin case or the hook on that does not oscillate it turns in the same direction all the time and it's got the timing belt on the bottom that is a good setup. And I do not believe that model has any fiber gears.
These machines came out with the rubber coated feed dogs so they would not damage delicate fabrics but have the grip to feed correctly. It's not a special add on.
@@InStitches Ive never seen anything like that before, though I know you can buy special rubber feed dogs for industrial machines for voile and net fabrics.
A life saver!! So glad I could put my grand ma's sewing machine back to use thanks to you!
Glad I could help!

Singer did not start doing this until the late seventies

Sounds like the timing could be out? This video shows how to check/set it. ruclips.net/video/yMAl176fP-E/видео.html

I am looking for this exact machine.
Very nice video! I have a touch and sew and the button that moves from winding to sewing is so hard to move is there a way to loosen that up a bit? Thanks for any info!

Try changing your needle if you haven't already. There are many possibilities but the timing could be out or gear could be broken.

Yes, the hook is rotary on all of these models and there are no 'fiber' gears they are some kind of plastic or nylon.
Very useful 🤌
I meant this machine with what looks like rubber flat feed dogs with no teeth?? or is this a special feed dog for a special purpose? thanks
