So who knew that Don Bradley, the Author of the Lost 116 Pages, would be such a solid de-bunker of some anti-mormon attacks on the doctrine of the temple and the Book of Mormon translation that have really managed to endure the test on anti-mormon recyled time! But, here he is, just crushing it! Behold, Don Corleon Bradley, the Godfather of the internet debunking.

Thank you Don Bradley for all your research. It has been pivotal for our family. My husband was incredibly anti-mormon and over the past decade has had many discussions with missionaries, but could never accept Joseph Smith until he started watching this channel and your appearances on it. Now not only does he accept Joseph Smith, but finally was baptised last weekend. Thank you Ward Radio for all the guests you have on, we love watching this channel. 😊😊

Check out the videos by a recent convert to the Church, David Alexander. But your ultimate answer will come through the witness of The Holy Spirit (James 1:5-6) just as Joseph Smith did and how Peter knew Jesus was The Christ on the road to Ceasaria Philipi. The Lord also promised the Holy Spirit would come after He left to teach his disciples John 14-16...

The doctrine is made up lies that contradict the Bible including the Bible. There are countless books that freemasonry is satanic and counter to the Bible. The problem with Mormonism it’s not biblical and has to use crazy things like freemasonry to justify the Book of Mormon. Totally demonic and satanic

make sure to listen to secular historians if you don't want to stack the deck with confirmation bias. I was a life long member until I read the cook of Mormon critically and found out that it's clearly not consistent with the history of the Americas. Read No man knows my history for a secular history of Joseph Smith.

This blows my mind. I am a convert to the Church and actually became a Freemason the year before I joined. I personally have always felt that the Masonic ceremonies are a modern take on an ancient temple ceremony.
I had a friend who had left the Church who knew I was a Freemason ask me once didn’t I think that Joseph Smith stole the idea of the temple ceremony from Freemasonry and I told him I actually didn’t.

@SixtySecondSpots-cl9lw Freemasonry takes much of its rituals and symbols from the old testement, which has details about ancient worship. So even if masonry wasnt in the usa and was completely unknown l, there would be parrellels. Plus, the original ceremony was probably the result of questions raised of having seen masonry. But like he says there's descriptions of the main points of the temple ceremony all throughout JS ministry. He just didnt know how to present the information and covenants, but the info and covenants are completely separate and predate js masonry. You could alternatively cut out and replace all of that symbolism for other symbolism and it would be the same ceremony. As a mason and member, theres not as much symbolism overlap as people make it out to be.

The Liahona seems to represent the light of Christ/conscience or a preparatory tool, whereas the interpreters resemble the Holy Ghost which doesn’t just tell and point to what to do, but shows you, like the interpreters do. Reminds me of when Nephi says the Holy Ghost will show you what you should do and he’s frustrated because he can’t explain more simply than that. Really neat symbolism.

If those symbols are on the temple garment and they represent the urim and thummin or lights and perfections. Then that means the temple garment are representative of the white stone we will all receive in the ceslestial kingdom. That's why they are a necessity for passing through the veil and are in fact part of the veil itself. And since they are the coats of skins, that means Adam and Eve had access to urim and thummim too. Thanks a ton.

Joseph stated that there was a lot more that occurred during the first vision that he never talked about and that he never disclosed to anyone. So in my opinion, the vision happened like he stated, the light came down, rested upon him, the Father and the Son stood there in the light, God introduced his Son, Jesus Spoke to him and answered his questions about which church to join, called him to be a prophet….and then after these occurrences, could’ve touched his eyes and opened up more visions for him to see. Who knows what else was revealed to him at that time?
Maybe he saw a little bit of his own life and what that would look like and some of the challenges he would face as a prophet. Maybe he was shown visions of past prophets and dispensation heads or even instructed by them. Maybe he met Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, etc, or saw visions of their lives, how they were called and and how they handled their responsibilities. In one account he said there were also many angels present in the vision.
Maybe he was also ordained, set apart, and anointed by Jesus Christ himself, with Christ’s hands on his head, to be a prophet. We know there was much more that occurred during that first vision, the possibilities are endless!

Hate to burst your bubble...and I too started out online looking for answers and explanations....BUT... Don misrepresents what happens in Either 3. Read it for yourself. The first mention of the veil or of a veil is when it is LIFTED from The Brother of Jared's eyes....NOT when the Lord passes his hand or arm through it. The only veil mentioned relates to eyesight. And the questions The Lord asks are nothing like the temple....they are much more general...basically "Do you believe what you are seeing?"

There's always questions. We had them. And still HAVE them! But every now and then, like listening to Don, you get this feeling like: "This is even truer than I thought it was." Like there's something bigger and more glorious hiding in these little verses. Does that make sense? The endowment has been there since 1828?! WHAT? That's mind-blowing! But it makes sense. It's kinda like, "Yes, i guess i always knew that, but I guess i didn't realize how amazing that is!"
We're so glad we get to be a part of your puzzle construction. When a piece doesn't fit, we don't burn the whole thing down. We wait until it fits later. And it will! We will pray for your dad. sounds like he raised a cool daughter. She's a Midnight Mormon, so she's cool.

I've now listened to him for hours and I can tell you that ALL OF HIS CONCLUSIONS and CONNECTIONS are based on the thinnest threads and wishful interpretations. Usually online people are solid Pro or Con and had strong arguments in their minds and they express them. I've NEVER heard such weak connects or interpretations. Don see Temple links all over the Old Testament...in Joseph Smith's experiences...leading up to the Nauvoo Temple Endowment Creation. BUT...the Temple Endowment much more resembles Masonry...right down to the HANDSHAKES...PASSWORDS and STRANGE CLOTHING. And since Joseph coincidently signed up to join the Masons less than 2 months BEFORE he gets the "revelations" on The Temple Endowment, it becomes a question of WHICH IS MORE LIKELY? Also, the Official Position of The Church is that there is no ancient basis or CONNECTION to ancient times/rituals...and that Masonry can only be traced back to Medieval times. There is no doubt that Joseph THOUGHT Masonry was some long lost spiritual ceremony. He took it and of course revealed what it "should be"...BUT The Modern Church has fessed up to the truth. @@marisajohnson2958

And you look up and there's the stairs. And the hole that you fell into, holds both the treasure and the stairs that lead the way out of the hole, and back up into the light. I do remember hearing years ago somewhere that Joseph was like a grand mason or ran a lodge in nauvoo but that he changed the ceremony or something. I never could look back to see how true that was.
Maybe you’re right that free masons have nothing to do with lds. But you must admit the symbols free masons have seem to overlap with lds or lds symbols overlap with free masons.
Also look at the beliefs. Lds believes that things are designed in spirit or in heaven before they were created down below in material. Free masons teach similar things about creating with the mind etc. Hermetics or the Jewish kaballah says similar things that all is mind or as above so below.
      Remember Joseph smith said all
Material is spirit just refined so you can’t see if. If all material is spirit how then can the Holy Ghost enter our bodies if bodies are also spirit since Joseph said all matter is also spirit

I am a very active member of the church and have held positions such as High Priest Group Leader , Elders Quorum Pres. etc.. I am also a Freemason. I became interested in Freemasonry because of Joseph Smiths involvement in the Fraternity. He said that The degrees of Freemasonry were an apostate endowment. i believe that means that it came from the ancient gospel. That is why they use the Compass and Square,. The third jewel is the plumb. It's not surprising at all that there are similarities between the endowment and the degrees. The endowment has much deeper and spiritual meanings that pertain to our salvation. Freemasonry does not claim to offer salvation at all. Just a way to become a better man.
I believe the prophet was led to it to learn how to teach symbolic principles. Hugh Nibley said that the Egyptians had the Endowment based on hieroglyphic writings in their temples.
    Great conversation.

My most recent visit to the temple, as the endowment session began, my vision changed and there was a literal expansion in my mind and view of something I just could not comprehend. I could feel and knew I was on a deeper spiritual plane. Within a minute of the experience I began to let doubt in and the experience ended. I was left to my mortal state of mind fighting my mild narcolepsy and trying not to doze off so much but I did have another touching experience later in the ceremony. This conversation helped me understand a little bit more about my experience as I was “seeing”. I have dreams and visions but this experience was deeper and sadly short lived. I believe the Lord is working in my hard heart, especially when it comes to my La k of temple attendance. There truly is much deeper things to experience, almost in another dimension where revelation can be opened up to us in a state of peace, minus the anxiety, as you spoke of.

Many don't understand that Satan takes holy symbols and perverts them to evil. This is historical. A great example is the symbol of the Nehushtan, or brazen serpent. It began as a symbol for Christ, and morphed into an idol by the Israelites. We read that King Hezekiah actually went out and destroyed them because of this. This symbol is now used for evil in pharmakeia.
The "Star of David" is actually the Star of Remphran described by Stephen in Acts 7. The jews who went into and returned from Babylon were truly corrupted into evil.
The masonic symbols are also an example of perverted symbols today.

I've never understood why the different versions of the first account are a problem for some people. When you read them all they all align and you realize he is telling the truth but he is emphasizing different elements of the experience depending on who he is talking to and what he feel is important to communicate or remembers in that moment. Everyone one in their lives who has recounted an experience of importance to them at different times of their life will all tell it differently simply based on the situation and the audience. I myself have done it sometimes for lack of time or who I was talking to have omitted or consolidated certain points of detail. Sometimes I remember afterwards I forgot to mention certain points just based on the circumstances. This does not mean my experience or event was not real it simply means memory is not photographic. even in my life history I have written things about my life and come back later to add footnotes about something I remembered about the event to add later and sometimes for the ones who will eventually read it I have left little notes translating or explaining what I meant or felt or was using as a definition to myself based on my point of view. For example when joseph in one account mentions only the lord singularly we need to understand a couple of things. 1 when people in his time talked about the lord who is he referencing? When people of his time referenced the year of our lord who are they speaking of. The answer is Jesus Christ. This is consistent with the official 1st vision account in the JSH 1 as the father only addresses joseph and then defers to the Savior. so when he says the lord talked to him he is meaning Jesus Christ. doesn't mean the father was not there or did not speak to him at different times of the same experience. Also even if Joseph had downplayed the fathers presence in the first vision I could understand as a 14 year old boy he didn't realize by just mentioning to the pastors and others his account of seeing 2 people he was already coming into conflict as a heretic with apostate Christianity which had been teaching a false interpretation of the godhead for at least 1600 years. He would later mention just about the members of the church how he could have revealed far more to the saints if they didn't fly apart like glass whenever their TRADITIONS were challenged. He even mentioned to Brigham Young once that if he knew what Joseph knew even he wouldn't stay loyal to which Brigham was wise enough to say well joseph then don't tell me, because I know what I know. That is wise to know where your limits are and where you still need to grow before you gain certain experiences and knowledge.

      1. There's no evidence of an 1820 religious excitement in Palmyra.
      2. Joseph described that it happened when his mother and siblings joined the Presbyterian church which would be after Alvins death in 1823. So moronis visit took place BEFORE the first vision.
      3. No mention of a first vision by ANY of his neighbors and "enemies" in Mormonism Unvailed, so where is the persecution?
      4. Inconsistency on the number of heavenly beings.
      5. Inconsistency in his age 14-18 year old.
      6. One does not simply remembers more details as time passes.
      7. If you think the accounts are "consistent", then why was the 1832 account suppressed and not mentioned in any part of the missionary lessons or curriculum?

However, I'm a native spanish speaker so I doubt you would find ANY embarrassing church material (book of commandments, journal of discourses, lectures on faith, ensign articles talking about seer stones and FV accounts) translated to Spanish. The church is very good at hiding stuff from Latin Americans, I've been a member for 30 years, served a mission, and this year is the first time I learned about any of this problematic history. You may be able to gaslight English speaking members about how the church never hid anything and the resources were available to them but not me or all latin Americans.
Those are no small "variations" that were given to different "audiciences", either the FV happened as I was taught all my life or it is a fraud. I didn't pray asking about 1 personage, angels, forgiveness of his sins. Seems like there could have been many blanks filled in had there been someone with Tanach background. There were several conclusions kept to that would not be consistent with the law or temple worship.
Was a good show nonetheless is still sad that there is such a strong appeal to frame Joseph Smith by “Mormonism Unveiled”. I am still finding it odd that you are all comfortable peering into the hat of a non kosher animal to do a Levitical act such as seership.

If you can afford it the is a book by Cohen and Cohen called the Tabernacle that goes line by line through the tabernacle scripture and explain the layers of skins and their purpose. Personally I think there are two extrapolations here that are potential rabbit trails. First the hat is only described in anti Mormon or negative sources. Second the garment is lamb skin and all the Christolic symbols that go along with it. So a badger is not a kosher animal is it does not make sense that a badger skin would represent the messiah. I am having to go look at Leviticus but I thought the layer of skin in the roof was shark or dolphin. I remember it being a fish hide.

On the topic of the Biblical Exodus vs. Mosiah's exodus, I think there's also some supporting evidence seen in King Benjamin's speech. That whole first section of Mosiah bears resemblance to the Feast of Tabernacles, which many other scholars have well documented. However, King Benjamin specifically points out that they're thanking the Lord particularly for their deliverance from the Lamanites (in Mosiah's exodus), while typically, the Feast of Tabernacles is in celebration of deliverance from Egypt.

What does this say about the Temple and the endowment ceremony if 100% pagan Masonic rituals were in it from its inception? What does it say about the Church if it removed something that Joseph Smith said he restored and which would never again be taken away from the earth?

if it is not doctrine and so not essential for salvation, then the prophet is able to change it under the Lords guidance.

@@carjun2 But doesn't it just sound weird that God is borrowing from pagan masonic ceremonies for supposedly eternal ceremonies? And then God changes His mind and take the throat slitting out when people make it public?

As a member of the Church and as a Freemason myself, I can attest that Joseph Smith received the endowment ceremony and all Temple rituals by revelation from God and not by copying the Masonic rituals. Are there certain superficial similarities, yes there are but it’s just that, superficial similarities. Great show!
