- We are at CES 2024 this year and experienced NVIDIA's ACE demo in person, and let's just say, if this is where gaming technology is headed, the future is amazing. In this video we recorded a human interacting with NPCs in a tech demo using new NVIDIA ACE technology and the Convai Character API pipeline, allowing you to literally speak to NPCs, ask them questions where AI-driven algorithms go to work, and spit back realistic answers in real-time, and these NPCs are even aware of their space and will interact with that space based on your speech input. It truly is amazing, and a must-watch.

People were complaining about voice actors losing their jobs to AI but this is exactly the thing you just cannot do with voice actors.
Not all voices will be the same so they’ll still need voice actors to model the ai
@@1jordy11 you don't need voice actors for that. They already have voice synthesizers trained on large numbers of voice samples that let you generate voice with the characteristics you want.
And even if you want a specific voice, a 10 minute audio sample of that person on an unrelated topic would probably be more than enough to recreate it. No game specific recording necessary
And this is just the start! Within the next 2-3 years I recon it'll become natural language.
So good to finally see a demo where the latency hasn't been edited out.
Seems to be averaging around three seconds...
That seems pretty playable to me :)
id had been saying this since i saw generative AIs, i played Mount & Blade Bannerlord 2 with inworld too and i had a really good experience.. I believe you simply cannot compare todays RPGs with an RPG filled with AI s, seriously, i cannot wait until i play an OPEN medieval RPG with this.
Imagine a game of thrones game with this and a well developed ai for the characters. Doing politics like this with Littlefinger would be wild.
Well, we call know where Cyberpunk 2 is heading :)
This would actually make me want to hook a mic to my PC..
Waaait a second... I see what the government is up to really
I can't wait until this is in an actual game
I can't wait until they use a more human voice like some of the ones chatgpt uses.
and this is the worst our mid level tech will be from next year on. People are already working on getting faster reponses from NPCs on standard local hardware and lower spec devices like phones . We will probably find NPCs from a game we're playing will be able to call us while we are away from our PC's for small talk or to inform us of some details they just found out that we can action when we get home , or we will be able to phone NPCs and tell them we are planning a raid when we get home from work or something .
Can’t wait for the AI gm
Lmao funny conversation
Hello!
I have read some reviews. Can you explain your reviews about motherboards: Asrock riptide, Asrock Nova, Gigabyte elite x wifi. Question is - how riptide can be better and faster that Nova? And how Nova can be worse that Gigabyte and riptide, when Nova is faster that them both? You should create some raiting standarts (the same CPU, RAM and so on) not the eatch other reviewer posts his opinion about products and gives some digits as marks.
Is a random software demo the place to ask these questions?
Wow a chat gpt port, nothing to see here.
Nvidia killed the PC gaming market with their wildly overpriced graphics cards, but at least we get to see this creepy and weird conversation between virtual characters! Wasn't that more important than upgrading your computer?
All these AI agents suffer from the same problem. Too accommodating and agreeable, with an opinion on EVERYTHING. Not sure how they fix this but it's unrealistic and severely immersion breaking
That's bad honestly. She sounds like a robot and not a very advanced one. I'd rather have good screenwriters write good scripts like in BG3.
This is not to replace scripted narrative moments. This is so your average NPC doesn’t simply stare into the void and repeat the same 3 lines over and over
Well it's a demo remember that and they can implant personally and I still think they will have plot elements this is for leaning more about the world and characters
theres no way limited scripts are better than where this is going 😂😂😂😂
Bad? This sounds 1000% more natural than any Bethesda game ever produced, and way better written.
this is the very start lol. and to me it sounds good already
