Looking at a flat bed soon on another Ford. Been looking at suspension choice for the build and this was a great view into how you chose to set this up. Great looking setup and the capabilities look amazing.
Many great brands out there. Great time to shop for slide-in pickup campers. FWC is well established and have finally modernized a bit to keep up with the competition. Supertramp Campers is another great brand made in Golden, CO. We've owned all three, in that order, and each has been an upgrade over the previous. Great having so many great choices.

Sweet build Cody! Now you got me thinking about dropping a camper on the SCAB and having you guys swap out a few things on the rig! Love the in-depth video as always brother.
Wow wow wow…. Just when I feel like I’m ready to dive down the Sprinter, or built RV path, I’m pulled back to my truck roots. Thank you for the extensive about of information and taking the time to do get all this info on both the truck components and your personal 4WD Campers set up. Look forward to more videos as usual!
We’ve spent a lot of time in both a sprinter (170 4x4) and traveled for almost two years in a F350’with a flatbed Hawk (four wheel camper). Both definitely have pros and cons. Right now we’re in South America in a gladiator 😅 so that’s a whole separate category to explore.
@@TsavoTouringawesome to hear your input. The truck makes more sense to use under a business perspective, ultimately that’s what will probably sway the decision one way or the other. Funny part is a gladiator diesel was a pick also, but the sprinter RV and 3/4 to 1 ton trucks make the most sense.
Beautiful! We drive a 2021 F350 6.7 Diesel & our first thought was it’s one ton truck it can carry anything (not true) BUT we have a Carli Pintop kit that we purchased from CJC in addition ended up adding; Deaver Custom Leaf Pack, Hellwig Swaybar, Carli Front Torsion Swaybar, Air bags with Daystar cradle, Custom Overload Spring Bump stop and Method Heavy duty wheels. Would you guys be willing to compare your suspension systems to the liquid springs? I see they now offer a version for the 250/350 and it would be interesting since a top of the line Carli system would be similar to the cost of the Liquid springs.

Great build! We currently have a 2023 short bed F350 that we use for our Northern Lite 8-11. However, removing the tailgate on these beasts is a PIA. Could that Hawk be pushed forward enough to allow the tailgate to stay on and be used as a “patio” when folded down for access to the camper door etc? If so, I would consider moving over to the FWC Hawk.
In theory you could probably cut the camper's front bumpers down a little to shift it forward enough to close the tailgate. However to get in and out of the camper you would basically have to slide on your butt. Personally I was tempted to look at the Grandby model (8' bed) and let it rest on the tailgate partially. At the end of the day it seemed best to configure it how Four Wheel Campers intended!
Main issue with keeping the tailgate on is it makes ducking under the short door harder. If you use a step stool to get in and out, you are naturally stepping up and through the door as you step up and when you step out, you step down to the step stool step. Having a tailgate means you are stepping in and out at nearly the same level as the camper floor and it is very awkward. I recommend removing the tailgate when the camper is on. These trucks handle the weight easily so if you are using the camper enough, leaving it on fulltime during your camping season is an option, unless you regularly need the bed, but we use trailers instead of the bed of the truck most of the time whether camper is on or off).
@@MrChadx1 Thank you for the input. It’s not just a camper access issue as removal of the Tailgates on these new Fords also “bricks” the entire camera system, not just the removed cameras. I have already had to purchase a supplementary camera to trick the system into functioning. Will just keep on considering my camper options or dealing with the inconvenience.
Honest question. If you are going to change all the suspension/leafs, etc, why not just buy a more basic 4x4 and save that money for the modifications? Would you not end up with the same truck?
The Tremor package comes with a limited slip front differential, more favorable gearing for larger tires, drive modes, more water proof electronics, and stock parts that are worth more. It made sense to us for those reasons, but everyone's different so there's no harm in starting with a base package XL 4wd truck and then upgrading the suspension. It all just comes down to your end goals.
And here I am sitting wondering what this setup would cost to have installed on my 2020 F250 CCSB XLT 7.3 gas.. "If you have to ask you can't afford it" probably...
Cody should have spent more time researching his tire/wheel combo. 20"X10" rims with 13.5" wide tires is the obvious choice for his usage needs...and based on his significant complaints with stability! Running those 18"x9"'s favors extensive off-road use, which he simply just doesn't do. Plus there are significantly more tires to choose from in the 20" size!
There's actually no added stability with a 10" wide wheel, so the only thing 20x10 wheels would achieve is worse tire fitment with more rubbing, and less sidewall compliance for worse off road capability and ride. This wheel and tire combo was carefully selected to offer the best load range, ride quality, and all around driving possible.
You'd be amazed how little margin there is too. It's just extremely expensive to make a wheel at that quality level with all custom ordered features and colors. They aren't for everyone and we totally understand that, but they are a very cool wheel.

@@CJCOffRoad Thanks. Appreciate the response.
What’s that color on the innov8s?
Literally only thing holding back the Ram is the spare tire size, we need an option for a 38 inch tire and hitch replacement
Agreed! Sadly that's limited by the rear track bar on the 2500s, and the frame width on both trucks.
Who's is going to do your head lights. I have a 2024 and want get mine done.
We had them done by Retroshop: retroshop.us/
What site were you at? Looks like a blast!
We shot most of this in Gorman OHV park. It's got a ton of great test tracks to play around on.
Will the hitch work with a hitch extender like the super hitch?
Absolutely
Does anyone do this with a 8’ bed?
We almost did, but decided we preferred the shorter wheelbase for better maneuverability.

We have all the suspension pricing on our website actually. Just click the links in the pinned comment.
Whats the offset on those innov8’s?
These are 5.5" backspace and +12 offset.
Why are the Innov8 wheels so expensive?
Because they’re quality.
They are forged American quality wheels.
You'd be amazed how little margin there is too. It's just extremely expensive to make a wheel at that quality level with all custom ordered features and colors. They aren't for everyone and we totally understand that, but they are a very cool wheel.
Is that a wire haired pointer.
Technically she is a Drahthaar!
👌
Generator?
No need with solar.
How about at a 3000 pound camper
We have the XXHD leaf pack and shock tune setup for about 3,500 pounds of constant load.
Why did you pick the ford, over the others? Thanks
He answers this in the video…
Need a Power Wagon with the GFC vs this video!
Nice truck hate that ugly camper though.
