    I’m a former Seventh Day Adventist and I used to be very homophobic based on how I was brought up and now I’m an atheist.
    Looking back, I don’t understand why so many religious people in my country and in the world are so concerned about where people put their genitals.
    I’m so much more open minded now and I see people as just people and I see love as love. The concept of sin is something nonsensical to me. Taking care of each other as humans and doing no harm to each other is of utmost importance.

      Benevolent creator creates evil as an offset to good which would place many people in a fiery misery for eternity. God even killed the first thing ever to make clothing. Slavery is okay, a 40 year old marrying a 12 year old girl is okay, but being gay is a sin and "back in the good ol days" people stoned those gays to death. Also if you like the Jews you have to realize they're all going to hell because they have no temple to sacrifice livestock in. proudblackjynx our religion also says women are under men, that we must cover out heads. However, that’s not enforced now. We don’t believe “being gay” will make you burn in hell. We believe you are born gay and can still date, you’re just expected to practice chastity. If I’m being honest (catholic school girl here), not many people practice chastity regardless of sexuality...it’s not considered a mortal sin (I.e. you do the sin you get a straight way ticket to hell.) just a minor one. I don’t know about other branches of Christianity but Catholicism will welcome you with open arms and won’t try to “convert” you or anything. I’m sorry you think that.

    His greatest commands are.
    1. Love Thy God with all Thy heart and soul.
    2. Love one another as I have loved you. There is nothing greater than these two commandments and everything in this universe rests on these. He also asked, not judge anyone. If both the groups followed these two things, everything will resolve.

    No matter what denomination, there's levels to how seriously people take it. My family takes Catholicism very seriously and when I told my parents they said they loved me, but then my dad sent me this website for Courage International. Courage is a sub-cult of Catholicism which treats being gay like it's the same as alcoholism and tries to get gay people to be celibate. Nikki Alegria #1 organised religion IS man made. It is not debatable. Its a fact. #2 people can interpret the bible in different ways. Most Christians don't follow the bible literally. They all pretty much pick and choose. It's a sin to wear clothes of two different cloths. It's a sin to pierce or tattoo your body... I don't see most Christians complaining about that. Things change and have been lost throughout history of Christianity. Try looking into how it originally began. It is not that same as today. People have changed it. Hence, man made.

    It's always nice to see religious people who are supportive of the LGBT community, but I feel like most people who talk about this subject on the internet are wearing rose-tinted glasses.
    Think about it this way: imagine you're a jew in Nazi Germany. Lots of people around you are members of the Nazi party, but when you talk to them about being a jew, they tell you it doesn't matter to them and that they love you anyways. It's great, but it doesn't change the fact that their community kills and tortures your people on the daily basis, and that telling the wrong Nazi about your identity could get you killed.
    To all religious people: no matter how loving you are, if you identify with a religious group, you're associating with people who kill, torture and oppress innocent folks because of something they were born with. The fact that you don't leave that group and condemn them means that you're giving more weight to their actions, by adding to their numbers.
    Believing in a god is not a choice, but being part of a religious group is. Why not be a deist then, or create your own sect? Why are you associating with murderers? Is it out of habit or out of fear? Your voice won't change anything to the awful things that are going on all over the world because of a group you joined or chose to remain in.

      Marine Drille ok... believing in God IS a choice (that’s logic) you’re saying that Christians are oppressing a group of people while YOU are trying to oppress Christianity (so that’s just hypocrisy).
      Real Christians should NOT hate on ANYONE no matter what... but no one can FORCE us to believe in something that we don’t or to change reality to fit someone’s perception

    • @nikkialegria2925
      @nikkialegria2925 6 лет назад

      Marine Drille you’re giving a Nazis example... I’m gonna give you a different one:
      If a girl has annorexia, she believes she’s fat, but in reality she is super skinny... so, what must change? Her perspective or everyone else’s reality in order to make her feel she’s right?
      When your perspective doesn’t match reality... what needs to change is your perspective NOT reality.
      So if in reality you have a vagina (sorry for being explicit here) and in your perspective you’re a man... what must change is your perspective NOT reality... 😬

    The dumbest shit is when people cherry pick or essentially 'change' the religion in their head to something that fits their desires or lifestyle... either stick to the religion the way it's always been or leave & stop morphing it into something else.

    • @DearAliya
      @DearAliya 6 лет назад +2

      True, but the only difference I can make from what you mentioned and the people in the video is that they aren't recognising that the lifestyle they've chosen (in regards to the religion) is considered very sinful. If I were to decide to drink alcohol or have premarital sex, I'd admit that I'm doing wrong within my religion instead of changing the religion just to fit my fancy.

    • @nikkialegria2925
      @nikkialegria2925 6 лет назад

      Linda oh I don’t think anyone can hate on anyone. True Christians can’t handpick what sins they like and which they don’t. No matter WHAT sin that is. I think Christians shouldn’t hate, after all one of the 10 commandments is “love other as thyself” but no one can force Christians to support the lgbt community either.

    • @DearAliya
      @DearAliya 6 лет назад +1

      It's the way religion is - religion isn't meant to be cherry picked by its believers & if your only argument is how you think religion is mostly nonsense/rude then there's no point in having this debate because you aren't accepting religion for what it is in the first place.
      If you're properly part of the religion you believe in, you'd understand the lifestyle and fundamentals of it. In the eyes of religions, there are such things as sinful lifestyles (because it opposes the religions rules) & there's only 1 version of the religion at hand.
      No believer on earth can change the religion they say they believe in - it's actually considered blasphemous. Religion isn't some fictional young adult story you can have your own individual perspective of.

      Linda if a close friend/family of yours was doing drugs would you stop loving them? Even if you don’t support their decision to do drugs? It’s the same in Christianity. Even if someone is living a lifestyle you don’t support, you shouldn’t stop loving them.

Dismissed. It took me about a yr to be diagnosed w/ ME/CFS...during which time I was mostly bedbound, another 7 yrs to be educated on the illness after a Dr told me to exercise and made me more ill...4 yrs later still, 8 YRS to be diagnosed w/ POTS and 9 YEARS to be diagnosed w/ endometriosis. No FDA approved drug for ME/CFS in U.S....one has been trialed for 20+ yrs in U.S. and now approved in Argentina. Injustice is an understatement.
