I personally didn’t enjoy the scenic drive. We test drove it the other week and the visibility didn’t seem great and the front passenger seat being sloped is strange
I also have an e2008 and concur. Apart from the punchy pricing I’d say the front end design of the e3008 isn’t resolved very well and it sounds like dynamically it’s not going to drive as well as its baby brother?
Far better in my opinion. The rear of the Peugeot especially is not great. Telling that the designer at Renault was at Peugeot previously. Maybe they have lost their way now with design language…
I tested both and took the Scenic. For me the Peugeot has the better design on the outside, but the Scenic is much better designed on the inside and has much more space (front, back, boot), plus the better range. And at the end Renault offers the better price (the 3008 costs nearly 10 000 Francs more in Switzerland)
I have owned the e3008 for three weeks now, the trick with the boot is one kick in the middle, and the key must be outside with you, it won't work with the key inside the car or more than 2ft away from the rear, it's opened and shut first time every time for me. Also take out the bottom shelf in the boot and it becomes much bigger than the scenic, I have put my cables in a hard case so it keeps them out of the way. It's 11kw slow charge as standard but can be like mine upgraded to 22kw. At 6”3 I found the seats in the Peugeot bigger and more comfortable. As for kWh performance so far 4.7kwh average on 1600 miles that's 343 miles on a 100% battery so better than the claimed range. These cars are not designed or built to be rockets, but drive them smoothly and you can't go wrong, much nicer than any ice car I have owned.yes it's pricey at near 50k but 2 years ago you would have had to have paid almost double the price for that sort of range in EV cars, idiots like me are the guinea pigs who drive the technology now so it becomes cheaper in the future and at this rate I would expect to see 400 mile range cars available for under 40k in less than 3 years. Both cars will be a force in the ev car market, if you tried to get a BMW or Merc or Audi with the same top end spec then you are looking at 65k +
We need to see this segment drop into the 35-39k range to avoid the very unfair luxury tax band.. Renault are onto a winner with design, range, battery etc.. but the price will keep families away.
I've test drove both vehicles and confirm the renault scenic is a far better car. I currently drive a peugeot 2008 and the interior is the same size as the new 3008. My children had little to no room at the back whereas the scenic was very spacious and has so much leg room. Driving the peugeot ride was far to bouncy. Scene drove very smoothly. I'm ordering my renault scenic e-tech at the end of the month.
@oliverstemp9132 yeah! I was surprised that the cabin size was practically identical in size. I would go as far to say there is slightly more room in the back of the 2008. Such a wasted opportunity from peugeot.
Weird how the Peugeot is slightly longer yet somehow manages to have a smaller boot and less rear seat legroom than the Renault and have a bigger battery yet a shorter range AND be quite a bit more expensive yet not have an all important heat pump as standard. The Renault for me then. Oh and I must say I loved Nicola's Hokey Cokey when attempting to open the boot….
The Renault has a longer wheelbase (distance between front and rear wheel), even though Renault has a shorter overall length. That's why Renault has better rear seat room.
Sorry but the Peugeot is so overpriced it's not even funny. What are Stellantis thinking at the moment? It's like they WANT to lose all their sales to the Chinese!
I’ve yet to use one, but I don’t see why you are so against digital rear view mirrors. The rear screen in the Scenic looks to be about the size of a large letterbox, with the view becoming even worse with passengers sitting in the back. Surely a camera which gives you a much fuller view to the rear is infinitely safer?
The Renault is far better value and IMHO much better looking. The height of the 3008 makes it look very dumpy. I also don’t understand why Peugeot have labelled it the 3008 when it is a segment size up from the old model. Add in the standard Google operating system and to me it is no contest. Renault feels a thoroughly thought through innovate EV whilst the Peugeot is a design that a legacy auto maker thinks makes a good EV.
I’d still like to know on these tests what the cars computer says it’s commutative average Miles/kwh is. Surely that would show the real world performance. Range is important to some but real world efficiency is the thing. Renault wins that one 👍🏼
There is one in my opinion major error in the comparison overview you made at the beginning of the video: the Scenic can charge 22kW AC, which is an almost unique feature in AC charging. It’s not 7kW only.
A highly informative and entertaining video! More with you both comparing products please! I'd go for the Scenic over the e3008 any day. The Scenic looks more classy, and appears more functional.
Front wheel drive is what puts me off them both. Right now you can lease an AWD Nissan Ariya or a RWD Mustang Mach-Efor less than both of these, which feel like better options to me. That said, I love the armrest and the roof in the Scenic.
I love the Scenic and had one for a day test drive. Great long range. However, the narrow boot was a deal breaker for me. Shame as didn't like the tiny steering wheel in the Peugeot.
@@jamesardron Thanks for the tip. I believe the Capri and Explorer will struggle to hit the current 20%. So they are both on my list of "future bargains" that we want to drive / consider owning.
Thanks both, for the nice video review. Hands down, the Renault for the lines, the Peugeot for the aggressive looks. But i love that Renault roof and interior, so that would be my favorite..
If and when I upgrade to the Scenic from my 2015 Q210 Zoe, I’ll miss the 44kw AC charging I get with my Zoe! Very quick and very cheap on public chargers.
Bit iffy with the microphones at the beginning and parts looked very under-exposed with the e-3008 interior segments. Apart from that the Renault looks stunning for a large SUV/MPV and the cabin is great. Pug also nice looking but quite as nice but stylish interior. Just a shame that all cars are way too expensive now and these fall in to the higher luxury tax bands from next year, so both manufacturers are going to have a very steep uphill battle in selling these, unless the finance deals are incredible.

We have an 87KWh Scenic on order via Motability (the base spec is just £495, which is very cheap for the car you're getting), and I really look forward to seeing it on our driveway!
Why didn’t you go for the Espirit Alpine version for £995? You get £4-5k more worth of car including colours like the matte grey, sporty leather interior, 20 inch wheels instead of 19 and better looking alloys etc. also if you’re eligible for £750 new vehicle payment means you only need to pay £245 advance
@@mrm5183 Because getting over the higher seat bolsters was too difficult when lifting myself in from my wheelchair. I can't really straighten my legs so it all has to come from my arms and they're just a little bit too high to do it comfortably. It's a shame because the interior is lovely!
That space underneath the top small touch screen in the Peugeot will be a dust collector and very awkward to clean. I don't envey anyone doing that. Honestly , what were Peugeot thinking, designing that touch screen. It looks all wrong and too small. The 3008 before this had a much nicer and classier interior. The small steering wheel just does not work with touchscreens right at all. The Renault Scenics dash is much classier and nicer.

I personally like the design of the Scenic more. Also its price is way better and it's more practical. It also has the best infotainment system on the market right now, no need for CarPlay or Android Auto. Also 22 kW AC charging is a big advantage which by the way was a small mistake in the video where it said 7kW. Then the driving assists in the Renault are one of the best maybe not with the most functions, but extremely reliable. And the sounds it makes are so nice that you don't even need to turn them off bc they won't annoy you, but you still can turn them of with one button if you like to. What was missing in the video was how much less range the Peugeot had. Would have been interesting for comparison. I've heard that it's possible to drive the scenic extremely efficient, so I don't know why range was that much lower. Only on motorways it isn't that efficient which is due to the design not being made for best aerodynamic. But that's the same for the Peugeot that's why it would have been interesting how the consumption on that car is. But still a great comparison with lots of useful information and fun to watch
I saw both cars in France last week. I prefer the Renault, who by the way seem to have a lot of SUVs in their range at the moment. Also, the Peugeot is far too expensive for the average family car buyer

I enjoyed the review but did not like pricing somewhere between £46k and £52k for these things on the road. I cannot help thinking to hell with the kids wouldn’t a Mini ALL4, Smart Brabus #3, or Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce just be so much nicer and more fun. Perhaps a roof rack for the kids; saves so much mess and the dogs would still be comfy in the back.
@@danielstefanovic2604 It depends if they are talking about all versions of 3008 or just the EV version the E3008. The hybrid has a decent price(starts on 34660 pound in UK or 32500€ in some EU markets) and the style is not bad.
These cars need a model under that magical £40,000. Both of these would add the luxury car tax. Out of the two cars the cheaper Scenic seems to have the interior space as well as design. That is more important for day to day living with the car.
I would go for the Renault Scenic, however the Peugeot got a great bonus for long-term : 8 years of warranty (you need to do the revision at Peugeot to keep it)
Also, the windshield wipers are the loudest of any car I've ever used and the brake pedal is excessively grabby. The wiper sound is from the motors, so no change of wipers will affect it. The sound system below the iconic is mediocre at best, so make sure you listen to your trim before buying.
Whilst, thankfully, my 'family' have now all grown up and left home, I'd be absolutely dumbfounded if someone was asking me to pay £50k for a 'family car'...! I just don't see what these two leviathans can do any better than, for example, say an MG4 Long Range at around HALF the price...??? Families got on perfectly fine in hatchbacks and estate cars for decades... why does EVERYONE now think they need a hulking-big, resource-wasteful SUV...?
Brilliant video love this channel. Maybe relevant to add that I live in the north west and the Renault service network is awful. Will there be a Citroen on the same platform?
Think the Peugeot looks much better on the outside but Scenic wins inside. The Scenic is not very efficient though..check out fully charged review. The Peugeot like all recent Peugeots still has the steering wheel issue so you may find you only get a limited view of the dash so test drive is a must.
The only thing goes against Renault is ground clearance, and this is crucial for regions with 4 - 5 months of snow every year. Those frozen hard ice rocks on roads carry a punch, and if your horoscope isn't in your favor then your car battery might be on receiving end.
About the video: lousy audio and poor image quality. Also this acting thing (sort of) doesn't work for me…not convincing at all! 😏 About the cars: two boxy and squary pieces of metal that would not age well…fast devaluation on sight!! 😖
i can understand the price difference between the two as Peugeot in the last few years is considered by many as a higher class brand than Renault, the French Audi for me the scenic if more practical but that's it the 3008 looks and feels much more premium and special both inside and out and that's the car i want to be sat in
I wonder what many reviewers consider to be a "family car". What are requirements to be a "family car"? Just to be "not a sports car"? For me it means that there are two kids in the second row a lot of the time. And that dictates several things. For example just put two child seats into IsoFix on both sides of the second row and then try to seat in between. You can't? Congrats: you have 4.5 seater, not 5 seater family car. Then yes, big boot. And an underfloor storage doesn't count: it useless as you either have empty boot and then it doesn't matter, or you have a lot of stuff in the boot and then you have to take it all out to access the underfloor storage. And then many small but nice to have things: many places for various small items, cupholders in the second row, curtains on windows, folding tables etc.
50:50 on both. Have a 2008 and it is fabulous in every way but I'm drawn more and more to the Scenic and the Megane. French design just nails it. Also, rwc my Power Survey has Citroen and Peugeot at 4 and 5 for customer reliability. Allez!
About the ingenious armrest phone/tablet holders: they aren't well thought out. They don't fit a phone or tablet with a case, so end up fairly useless for many users. Renault clearly didn't test this with average folks and I don't know why no reviewer has noted this.
You didn’t mention that e3008 has 2 microphones one for the driver and one for the passenger. The passenger can set there own temperature there side by voice commands. Plus it has the new Peugeot chatGPT.
Just took my Mazda MX5 RF convertible for a drive around some east Sussex country roads. Nightmare. Condition of the roads are beyond appalling - so many very deep potholes, and the width of roads are obnoxiously thin which just makes the whole thing a deeply unpleasant experience. West coast of Scotland is great in comparison.
I think the Peugeot looks better - but its overpriced for me.. I would have thought they'd include a heat pump and equivalent battery to the Renault as its going head to head against it.. The heat pump is an essential feature in the UK and the 3008 shouldnt be offered without it
Huge step up from previous models, but still feels dated. FWD in an EV is just bad, especially when its wet. The Peugeot cant precondition the battery, so will most likely charge slow in the cold. Also the warranty is bad. 2 years is laughable. Honestly, Enyaq, ID.4 and the new Cupra Tavascan offers an overall better package than these two.
The 3008 for me is just priced way above itself. For over £45k I’m struggling with why someone wouldn’t just go for a Model Y, Ioniq 5 or EV6? I quite like the Scenic, would be on a shortlist if I was shopping now, however I’m so impressed with my 2024 Kona it would take something special to pull me away from Hyundai/Kia
The standard of journalism on this channel has fallen so low. How can a reporter claim that a car is "probably one of the best cars...".etc without having driven it? These two reporters lack objectivity and are trying to be a comedy act, without success. EVs are not being served well by this style.
I was all for the Renault till found it has no 1 pedal driving. It has 4 levels of regen but you can not come to a full stop....so no point really plus built in google i wanted it...but the Peugeot is the same no 1 pedal driving mode Ive had 2 cars with it inc current and im not going back

Agreed, the Scenic is much better looking. The Peugeot is dumpy. Far too much going on.
du jamais vu Mesdames! Grande félicitation de Hongrie! Deux Anglaises présentant deux voitures Francaises! Quelle humour et quelle ironie en meme temps! Bravo pour l'ambiance! Ca me plait énormément
Peugeot will have an even tougher time in the near future, as e-3008 price is on a par with the facelifted Ioniq 5.
well they just anounced they have orders for 50 000 3008 this year, duno whos buying those
@@danielstefanovic2604 It depends if they are talking about all versions of 3008 or just the EV version the E3008.
I would go for the Renault Scenic, however the Peugeot got a great bonus for long-term : 8 years of warranty (you need to do the revision at Peugeot to keep it)
Unfortunately I'd have to sell my family to be able to afford to buy one...
About the cars: two boxy and squary pieces of metal that would not age well…fast devaluation on sight!! 😖
i can understand the price difference between the two as Peugeot in the last few years is considered by many as a higher class brand than Renault, the French Audi
for me the scenic if more practical but that's it
the 3008 looks and feels much more premium and special both inside and out and that's the car i want to be sat in
I'm concerned about the Scenic's poor efficiency
Why Why Why, are heat pumps still being made as options, specially in that price range !!
As I know 3008 has a plug-in version, Scenic - not
I wonder what many reviewers consider to be a "family car".
You can get This 3008 at Arnold Clark with 1 Mile on the clock for £39,950
You will still pay the extra road tax
@@midlandgeordie👍🏼luxury car tax coming in soon
The best review channel in the World!
I Chose Scenic over 3008
1 bigger battery
2 alot of space
3 cheaper
4 great looking car
Not bigger battery the 3008 will have a 98kwh battery
There are a lot of people who don't want or own any apple devices so could you please mention android auto and tablet holders not iPad holders ,thanks
What happened to the sound at 1:05?
I feel like Blaze will date really quickly. Thanks for the vid
50:50 on both. Have a 2008 and it is fabulous in every way but I'm drawn more and more to the Scenic and the Megane. French design just nails it. Also, rwc my Power Survey has Citroen and Peugeot at 4 and 5 for customer reliability. Allez!
The Peugeot has the looks 😁👍🏻
About the ingenious armrest phone/tablet holders: they aren't well thought out. They don't fit a phone or tablet with a case, so end up fairly useless for many users. Renault clearly didn't test this with average folks and I don't know why no reviewer has noted this.
Great review Renault for me, better looking, cheaper, better specification.
You didn’t mention that e3008 has 2 microphones one for the driver and one for the passenger. The passenger can set there own temperature there side by voice commands. Plus it has the new Peugeot chatGPT.
Thank you for the comparison, very useful 😊. I need to consider what the next “daddy waggon” will be when the muskbil-Y goes back.
The heat pump is an essential feature in the UK and the 3008 shouldnt be offered without it
Prices aside and just going by appearance that Peugeot is fucking one sexy beast
Love the design, but please give it some more power and a bigger battery.
If only I found either one of these more attractive than the Škoda Enyaq
I'd imagine you're in a minority there!
Great review ladies.
I quite like the Scenic, would be on a shortlist if I was shopping now, however I’m so impressed with my 2024 Kona it would take something special to pull me away from Hyundai/Kia
for a single mother/father working to support the family, they can buy a cheap petrol car. When will they be able to buy a cheap electric car?
The standard of journalism on this channel has fallen so low. How can a reporter claim that a car is "probably one of the best cars...".etc without having driven it? These two reporters lack objectivity and are trying to be a comedy act, without success. EVs are not being served well by this style.
Test drove a scenic yesterday. The tackiness of the interior materials were just too much for me. Hard pass
Confused the Peugeot has an 8 year warranty doesn’t every EV have a 8 year battery warranty? Or is that 8 years for the whole car ?
"I'm sure it will get better with updates."
No, you're not. You hope it will get better with updates.
Nice review ladies🙌🏿
The comparison at 06:50 --> WHY did you display the stats switched? Thats extremely confusing.
Very entertaining. thanks
"How you doing" but in a French accent. Nuff said.
I was all for the Renault till found it has no 1 pedal driving. It has 4 levels of regen but you can not come to a full stop....so no point really plus built in google i wanted it...but the Peugeot is the same no 1 pedal driving mode
Ive had 2 cars with it inc current and im not going back
You said peugeot come with 8 year warranty No IT DOES NOT GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT 3 YEAR WARRANTY
Love the banter girls, you 2 are my guilty pleasure!
Here's a radical idea - why not talk to your kids when on a journey?
Takes away how many green cars?
There was some talk of the new stelamtis warranty blowing other manufacturers out of the water??
8 years or something.
Can you see the end of bonnet when driving. This is a question i like to know but no car reviewers ever mentioned it.
8:42 damn go get it girl!
