Comprehensive review as always, a reasonably priced 7 seat EV should be a sales success. EV9 & EX90 offer no value for what they are. Lower corners on the edge of that tailgate will cause some nasty head injuries if you’re tall. Should have rounded them.
I agree, this should be priced between 40k-50k so it will offer great value. I just wish they could have added AC vents and usb ports for the third row, but I can live without it.
The pod on top of a flat dashboard is reminiscent of eighties Rover designs. It certainly looks better than an iPad stuck to the dashboard solution, of so many manufacturers.
didn't lose xisting customers since you need 3 isofix for about 5 years tops. Funny how this reviews dont get ageing of children into account. However, 3 individual seats were great, We've never used the third row seats. With this model now I'm not sure anymore. will three children above isofix age still get into this version? And one more, are 3rd row seats removable?
they complete lost it, with no isofix in the middle rear seat and not having three individual same sized rear seats....that is the most stupid design desission....that was one of the main selling point, on the old 5008, for families ...😮

Maybe, but for many when the third child is on the books the oldest will probably be too old/heavy for that third Isofix. Therefore most should not overthink importance of the third Isofix.
This was one of the switch from MPV to SUV cars in the last 5-6 years and to be honest the only winners are the manufacturers. The MPV cars were €30-35k but the replacements €45-55k. Space doesnt look as good either. The old MPVs are still in demand and will be until they are gone but these SUV options will just be out of the price range for new or second hand cars when people want a family workhorse.
First thoughts are that it’s (like 3008) still a bit tight up front - unlike EV9 - and that it’s probably best viewed as a 5+2 than an out-and-out 7-seater. Price and range will be key here, but it should do well if it can stay competitive and come in below cost of Kia!
I could see this being an alternative to mid sized SUVs for families of 4 who want a bigger boot in the back. I think it needs to be a lot cheaper than EV9 as it's a smaller and less fancy car...current 5008 is ~£40k, if they can keep fairly close to that so it competes on price with cars like the ID4 , Enyaq etc and offers a bit more space, as well as being a much cheaper alternative to EV9 or EX90, it could do well. Sceptical about the range figures!
Like the more vertical rear end on 5008 - wished the 3008 was more like that rather than fastback - takes away from practicality. And no Frunk ! What are they thinking - and their excuse that it’s also ICE doesn’t hold water (🤦♂️) - they should prioritise EVs having frunk - getting cables out of boot when you have a load on board is a pain. Stoopid. Poor Joe. Otherwise nice looking package. Good, to the point review as usual Nobby 👍🏻
Been driving the last gen models for 6 years. These are fabulous family cars. I think it looks fine, but the exterior isnt necessarily more pleasing to look at over the last gen. It's like its trying to mimic the prevailing ev esthetic set by Kia and the likes. The interior looks good though. The loss of isofix in the middle seat is a bigger oversight than they probably realise, but if it can still fit three child seats accross its managable for bigger families with an older child. The ev options are the big draw here, but its arriving right at a time where there's great scepticism. I'd love to know how the weight will affect the drive suspension and handling, and price and insurance costs will be a big factor.
Can only comment on the e3008 as I’ve driven that and it felt a little heavy at times. The last gen is a very hard act to follow, it was such a difference to what came before it in that model. Agree on the isofix!
Was a thing in the past for sure, Stellantis owning all these brands now it’s a different story. They produce Opels and they’re ’German’ yet a lot of the switchgear, components, batteries are all the one now.
I have the current GT Premium. It's really nice but I am not having another. My engine loses oil but not enough for Peugeot to change the engine. It is really annoying putting oil in a newish car. I got it from new.
Unfortunately no one-pedal-drive No LFP battery, so you can't charge to 100% on a daily basis. Also the infotainment is not very smooth with the annoying animation after every click. On the other hand the choices of a 7 sits EV are currently very limited. This E5008 is better than the EQB. The EV9 is too big for an average European city and is about 10k euro more expensive than the E5008.
Not convinced about the golf clubs, no drivers in the bag (by far the tallest clubs) looked like an assortment of 5/7/9/ pitching wedge irons and a putter. (All short clubs)
It is a downgrade, in my opinion. No cockpit-style gear shifter. Without the shifter, it doesn't give that feeling of a cockpit. Now it feels congested. No separate seats. It’s even harder to adjust the AC compared to previous models. It adds more steps to scroll to the AC controls. If I wanted an SUV in Germany, I would go for the KIA Sorento. It has a much better interior and exterior.
Fully electric, eh ? TIme that the Manufacturers realised that producing more Electric cars will lead to Falling sales. AT least BMW offers choices when it comes to engines. ICE is here to stay for at least another 15 years - because EVS are too expensive to buy, maintain and service and don't get into the charging issue.
Great review. Peugeot fast becoming a premium brand and good to see some imagination when it comes to European manufacturers.
The interior is nice, but I still have a feeling that last-gen Peugeots looked better on the outside
the e-3008 looks great but this doesn't seem to work as well - the back seems really busy trying to break up the squarer volume
It will grow in you
It looks Alright but I prefer the last one
Finally an AWD version of the new 5008 is coming. For me, the biggest letdown of the outgoing 5008 was no AWD version available.

Peugeot just lost a huge amount of customers by removing the third isofix point in the middle row😮😮😮.....fair stupid on their part.
Odd decision alright.

Only about 20% according to their data - was stated somewhere.
I only bought it for the 3 individual seats, with this configuration I will go back to a Japanese car

That car looks fantastic. 👌
Better package than the EQB for sure!

Why did they go with the Hotblack Desiato’s Heart of Gold interior? Where everyone needs a head torch just to be a passenger.

range on the motorway with 7 on board in winter? 100km? more?
Amazing car as expected from Peugeot!
I’ve given the video a like .
Good review Nobby. Not a car for me, despite occasionally wishing I had a 7-seater.
This or Tucson 2024 facelift and why?
@3:46 it ststes 8 years/160k km 70% SOC warranty.....Did you mean SOH?

Very nice, but a mechanic said to me before, stay away from french and Italian cars due to bad electrics. Is that even more so now in EV?
You're mechanic hasn't got a clue. That's like something they would say 20 years ago
Was a thing in the past for sure, Stellantis owning all these brands now it’s a different story. They produce Opels and they’re ’German’ yet a lot of the switchgear, components, batteries are all the one now.
I think the Peugeot E-5008 and E-3008 both share the same dashboard?
Pretty much
I have the current GT Premium. It's really nice but I am not having another. My engine loses oil but not enough for Peugeot to change the engine. It is really annoying putting oil in a newish car. I got it from new.
There won’t be any engine oil in this one anyway… 😉
@@NobbyOnCars Yes true but I won't buy electric anything yet
Shame they took out the three iso fix points that was the big catcher for me with my old style 5008
Agree
Great Video thanks. Will petrol hybrid and phev be realised with ev version
PHEV a little later and then I think petrol after again. I'll double check what Peugeot Ireland are saying and come back to you.
It’ll be the 500km BEV and mild hybrid engine first. Then the long range BEV will follow later. They’re the versions for Ireland.
Thanks a mill, so there will be no PHEV for Ireland?@@NobbyOnCars

'Eagle' eyed...
Well spotted... The lies start early with Peugeot
Did anyone consider Nio es8 in comparison?
Carpet status, not to shabby
I love all your videos. Seriously 🎉 electronics and cars all dead,
hopefully Peugeot has woken up to the fact that people want AWD
No driver or woods in those golf clubs...
"5008 lettering in front of the car…" No, that’s what we call Numerals’s or maybe numbers but not letters.
Thanks for your invaluable input
Looks great but to expensive👍
White is one of the easiest colours to keep clean, I thought you’d know this?
Not where I live it ain’t !
Really nice looking car! Much better than the e-3008 👍 Even those ugly wheels look somehow better in this one 😂
EV era
What a cockpit!!
Those unattractive, bizarre alloy wheels are back...
A Robotic front look doesn't impress at all and back side is too flat and ugly as well. Peugeot has to think about ART when designing cars.

The particular segment is not well served by EVs.
Try getting rid of this thing after a year & see your money burn.
Come on Nobby, just ask Hertz.
All French cars resale was always poor. This will be no different
Nonsense, the last gen 3008 and 5008 are ridiculous money on the used market
nice usefull EV junk but who sleeps om money and dont care for depreciation and that EV will be worthless after 7-10 years as used then ok
