    I really like that you not only showed us where the bolts are but also told us which size wrench or socket to use so that we can grab only those sizes instead of whole SAE/METRIC wrench or socket kit. Great video and instructions.

    In my 45 years of driving no one has ever changed my oil but me. You can never trust someone else to do this task, filters or plugs too tight, under filled or over filled is usually the case. 18 GS owner here with 14k on the clock and still loving it!

    Just doing my IS350 right now, in the process of waiting for the oil to drain. I swear bloody Thor put my drain bolt on, took super human strength to remove it.

      Lubricate and let it sit for a while, then less force should be required.

    2013 gs350 Fsport rear wheel drive. 90k now, best car I have owned. I haven't done the rear diff fluid, but think I will since this car is a keeper. I'm with you charley95, nobody but me changes my oil. Trust issues! haha

    Very good info. I like that screw on funnel. So the Toyota engines come with that housing around the oil filter that is plastic. I'm assuming that Lexus engines and the more modern engines come with that aluminum housing now? I need to buy that special tool then for the Lexus GS 350 that I just bought. Subscribed. I don't let anyone know change my oil. Too many blown engines, over filled engines, and such.

    How's the car running on the Mobil 1 Extended Performance? That's what I've been using for the past 2 changes since I got my 2015 GS350 but I'm planning to switch to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum since I keep hearing good things about it.

    Which way does the oil filter go on? Does it matter? One side on mine wouldn’t fit right so I just turned it around and it clicked into place better.

      You can take used oil to advance auto or one of the other parts stores and they will recycle it

    You're drain plug was on tight. Because you said you took it to the dealership last time. Hopefully it was not a toyota dealership. Underpaid and sometimes you young techs. Use power tools on drain plugs and lug nuts without torque sticks.

    Leave it to some idiotic engineer to complicate an oil change. Just stick with the spin on type. Also I noticed two seals were provided, I only saw you install one, what did I miss?

    • @PlatoonGarage
      @PlatoonGarage  2 года назад +1

      The smaller rubber gasket is if you want to put the plastic drain on the oil filter housing to drain it before removing the filter.
      I think it's a waste of time, so I just unscrew the filter housing and let it drain that way
