The product placement was the best thing in this game and there should have been more of it, the cup noodle quest has a higher quality to it than any other side quest in the game and all quests should have been like it, and how the voice actors talk the whole quest is just hilarious

I saw American Express logos at most of the Crow marts....
They should of named the chocobo rental service American express. That would make it more noticeable and give a cleaver lore reason to be in the game.
I'd just like to point out that while Zu beaks (and a few other materials) give you the Limit Break effect, as far as I know there is only one item that will give you 4th-tier spells, AND Limit Break, AND a large number of casts, AND at effect level 99. That is the Wind-up Lord Vexxos Doll. Now, it's not as time-efficient as your method, I grant you. In fact it can be rather time-consuming, and it costs 10K gil as well. But the special Justice Monster 5 machines in Alitissia drop the Wind-up Lord Vexxos doll if you get 99 treasure boxes while playing the game. If you haven't played Justice Monsters 5 in the game yet--wow you are missing out on probably the most fun, and easiest, mini-game in the whole Final Fantasy franchise. The score doesn't really matter--what you want is the treasure boxes, and you only get those by setting off the slot reel. To set off the slot reel you want to keep hitting the bumper on any screen until you fill up the little score keeper thing that has the four big yellow circles at the top. Fill it up, you'll set off the reel. I'm sure there are videos and/or written guides to Justice Monsters 5 out there.
I've gotten it twice, I think it only took me about an hour each time to get to 99 boxes. With luck you can get it even faster. And what do you get for that time investment? With ONE ITEM, you get an amazingly powerful payoff in Elemancy. Put in 99 of an element, and use the doll, and you get FLARE (or the ice or lightning equivalent), a fourth-tier spell. You get Limit Break at level 99 (99% chance of Limit Break). You get *53* casts. I don't know about you, but I'm still at about level 50ish, in the final chapter. I have Flare and I have Freeze, with 53 casts of each...I'm pretty sure the last few boss fights aren't going to drag on too long.
I used the hi damage tech you made a video on to farm this yesterday.It worked flawlessly for me and I even managed to make a maxi cast of each type....now time for some dungeons

It's highly possible that I can re-do the behemoth hunt. but I wasn't paying attention as to where the hunt is located. I'm hoping once my hunter rank is high enough the ZU hunt will unlock for me,.
Icey Milotic Oh so the Zu hunt didn't unlock at all? Others have reported it opening up even without the egg hunt.
not to my knowledge not yet, I havn't put much time into the hunts so far. Mostly grinding for rare coins haha. Possibly at rank 4 or 5 the zu hunt will open. I'll comment again once i'm there to let you know
Icey Milotic I can ensure that at rank 4 you'll unlock the Zu hunt, cause I chose the shrimp and fought the Karabos, but I have the Zu hunt ;)

You don't even have to return the Hunt every time. Once the Zu is dead just return to entrance, the take a few steps forward, then go back to the campsite, and then back down the the Zu. A little quricker.
dont you need to reactivate hunt to respawn him?
I chose "meat" and I had to fight a behemoth. But I did notice I had the Zu hunt right after accepting the quest only. Easy farm for the maxicast.

I only just starting getting Zu beaks recently so I haven't worked out the best way for me yet (I can't return to the rest point even though I rested at the camp there). Anyway, I recommended eating the Papa bird and baby bowl (100% drop rate) or Mother and child rice bowl (50% drop rate) which can both be obtained at the Lestallum overlook.
Is it possible you aren't walking far enough out of the entrance of the dungeon. You need to head back out into the field to get the option to return to camp.... unless it has been patched. I will try it out later.
Hmm I tried it again and was able to return to my rest point this time.
what about the item drop rate boost accessory?
Enix patched the zu beak drop to be a break requirement as opposed to a 70/30 drop rate. I believe you get 1x beak for every break, although it could just be 3x as long as you break it once. I just equipped "armiger accelerator" which made sure the bar was full from killing the wasps on the way and hammered it repeatedly in the face with armiger and it dropped 3x beaks every time. the whole cycle takes about 5 minutes so in theory you should be able to farm no less than 30 every hour.
That being said, with STR+ gear I still hit 99,999 with anything over 700 potency, the downside to zu beaks is the huge number you need to use to build 99 quantity of spell.
If you're a fishing beast, fishing the pink jade gar at Daurell Springs, (with triple item ascension) gives you pink jade mirror scale x3 at 100% drop and may be a more effective farming method. that being said, the thing is a prick to catch.
so basically pinball game > jade gar > beaks, its clear this is the 3rd best option. thanks.
I simply beat the Adamantoise for the Adamantite and it makes 13 maxicast spells with better potency. I beat it in about 15 minutes alternate arms when you break him each time, use Ignis enhancement and attack booster stuff. I find this is the most rewarding way of doing it. Sometimes like other bosses it will drop meat or a part of a recipie instead but I seem to get Adamantite every time it dies. Maxicast spells are almost vital for completing Costlemark secret dungeon.
I loathe the Adamantoise fight. So for me this idea is completely out. The Zu fight takes less than 30 seconds if you are doing it optimally and with the right tiems you should be getting beaks quite frequently. Thanks for the tip though, might help someone who doesn't have any beak luck.

The main issue I have with my audio is the mic. I need to get a desk stand or boom arm mic. I am considering a few option at the moment but would love your input. Also I don't know a reliable way to check levels and volume on an 'unbiased' source.

I've done this before and I chose the meat and it told me to hunt down a behemoth, not the Zu.But I think I got the Zu hunt somewhere in lestulleam.(don't know if I spelt that right)
The Zu hunt can be picked up after the noodle quest at the cafe near the volcano.

To get the 'Feathered Giant of the Firesmoke' hunt you just need to do 'The Perfect Cup'; sidequest; it does not matter if you choose the Behemoth meat, Zu egg or the Karlabos (crustacean carapace), the hunt will unlock once the quest has been completed.

Only issue I have with the Xu hunt is that every single time you make it to the nest...you have to put up with that damn cutscene before the fight and I don't think you can skip it lol. Otherwise yes, this is a very good way to stock up on beaks. And if you don't care about magic, it's a great way to gain a ton of money by selling them ontop of the money you already get for the hunt each time you repeat it. But that damn scene before the fight lol...oh my god Square, let me skip it! Lmfao.
Oh man.... After the battle you should be able to slap Prompto..... HARD!
The hunt is really good. I was putting it off for ages but it is really quick and not bad for loading times. Which is always nice.
We should be able to hit Prompto any time we want. Doing the hunt, Prompto: are we really fighting that. Hits him so hard his max hp instantly falls to 0. Noctis: Yes and we're doing it without you. Sun is going down as you go to next detestation. Ptompto: How about we find a place to rest for the night. Kicks the back of his seat sending him face first into the dash board. Noctis: We keep going, and put your damn seat belt on.
What I did was I farmed Adamantite it only took 10 of them to get 99 maxicast at 999 potency also the adamantoise meat also works when you only want 5 of each kind of tier 4 Magic don't think it's the best way but that's the way I did it and it worked for me
I think the videomaker should of clarified the fact that the zu beak is what breaks magic damage limit, not the food. errbdoy can do this hunt rank 4+ after doing any of the 3 noodle choice quest. hope I clarified for you folks. I did meat and I'm looking at hunt as I type. confirmed
I mentioned this right at the start of the video and towards the end also. Only thing I feel I was unsure of was the different choices in the cup noodle ingredient.
I chose meat and had to kill a Behemoth near Forth Vaullerey to get the meat, so yes, it's different if you don't choose egg.

It's different if you choose shrimp or beef and if you choose shrimp you get a experience boost.

All I can imagin is Ignis sticking his lance into the zu egg to try and beat it.
As far as i can tell the whole Zu egg part isn't necessary.
My own experience however is different.I did pick the meat which leads you to go get Behemoth Meat in Duscae just as a FYI.
As far as i was concerned Zu just showed up when i was at the right Bounty level (i believe level 4 or 5).
I could be wrong but ive been through the game 3 times and it seems to be the case.
At any rate i didnt know about Zu beaks (i barely use magic) but i'll be giving this a go,thanks for the info.
John Brown My experience was opposite. I knew of the hunt but couldn't get it to show up. Even after getting hunter rank 4. As soon as I did the noodle quest it was there. Maybe there is another hunt that does it as well?
LemonEatingKow i have a 3 rd save file where i havent done the cup noodles quest (my file was a level 1 speed run lol).
I cant do it right now but ill load it up after i pick my son up from school and see if the Zu hunt is there first,then do the cup noodles quest then go back and see if Zu is there.
I'll let you know if i figure out the trigger.
The trigger could be cup noodles quest like you say but i just dont see how it would be since its only related to Zu if you pick 1 if the 3 options.

I went in with a completed dungeon to go grab a few extra items i missed,aswell as to see if i could get out of bounds with it.
You can kinda get out of bounds at the 45 degree angle section since you can get on top of some sections you arent meant to be able to.
Due to it stopping the spikeblocks from moving im not sure you could do the entire dungeon with the glitch but yeah it was useful for my friend Si to finish it since he couldnt do the last few sections.
Still worth doing the dungeon legit for all those Oracle coins and the Genji Gloves (not a good accessory but the only ones i kniw of come from here)

eYeTrIcK77 i find that using spells on the zu tends to give u tenders mote often but im not sure.
not necessary to select egg for cup noodle quest as the Zu bounty hunt will be made available at Verimas (spelling?) mart once you reach higher hunter level

LemonEatingKow the climb up the volcano ain't that bad, plus if don't encounter Zu during grabbing of egg, then it's a walk in the park (or volcano in this case).

If you selected meat instead of egg they would have sent you on a Behemoth hunt to get a Behemoth Tenderloin I believe. FYI.

The Cup Noodle quest is glitched for me.. When i go near the cup noodle van the screen goes black then reappears normal but gladio doesnt speak to me

You dont have to go to the car again, Just go to the rest point and he will appear again, Then repeat it. pretty easy.

First off don't need to do the cup noodle quest it is a hunt it is a level 1 or 2 can't remember but to have a higher Chace to get zu beaks attack the head until it says break when it does that then you can kill it that is around a 30 to 40%chance of getting the beaks eat an special dish that increases the chance for drops and than you have a 60 to 70% Chace of getting the beaks. Also just to let you know you don't need to be lvl 80 60 or higher I was post game at lvl 41 and I killed it with ease
The hunt will not show up until you do the Cup Noodle quest. Unless it has been changed in a very recent patch.

@lemoneatingkow i found that if you start the hunt, kill zu return to entrance and then return to rest point it respawns him so I keep traveling to entrance and back to rest

Gin Wolf You can, you are unfortunately getting unlucky. Just keep fighting it. I had 6-17shot limit break casts in flasks and a reserve of 99 Zu beaks in about 10 hours. Good stuff. Unfair also haha.
Zu Beak is trash because you only have 7 uses of the spell. If you use 10 wind up lrd vexxos you have 999 potency AND x99 uses in that one flask.
So farming wind uplor vexxos in the flipper thing might be tedious but farming them only takes some hours, you can watch a series or something whild doing so as farming chests in justice monsters 5 is easy and once you farmed the 10 things youre good because you most likely will never need more. As you now have 99 uses of the strongest magic.
Gray Fullbuster Ive actually got a guide on that method also. I find a lot of people really dont like JM5 though. Personally I prefer doing Zu Beaks as it is easier for me to just get into the rythm and get it done.
If you have the patience for JM5 it is a great way to get Wind Ups.
I jsut find Wind Up Lord Vexxos better because he gives you so incredible many uses of the Spell.
Also, I find JM5 easy to farm as I always do other stuff. I mostly get the 99 Chests just spamming the X button while in the game to be honest so I can relax and watch RUclips while im at it.
Also, as the Zu Beak method got nerved I think Lord Vexxos should also be kinda faster now.
@@ardynizunia9709 yeah as annoying as the pinball is, its vastly superior to having to keep getting break drops. really m surprised so many people think this is best way, I think jade gar is probably superior to beaks as well.

My observation, if I have a dominant fight, break the beak, and then finish it off before it gets up again attacking the beak only I nearly all the time get 3 beaks, any other type of kill got me food every time.

You still get the Zu hunt at hunter rank 4 at another outpost. So it does NOT matter.

jordan alvarez There is the secret vault dungeons for endgame weapons. Or you could max out your hunter rank. Kill Adamantoise. Max all your party skills like fishing etc. and then hope and pray that Square will make a new game + with hard mode ;)

the cup noodle quest have you kill diff things depending on choice, i went shrimp n it took me to caem to kill stuff instead. damn i guess this got locked out for me :(
i've gotten the zu hunt later but i THINK i don't have the cupnoodle w/ zu egg recipe...its either locked out or i didnt get the zu beak drop. w/ check!
Once you do one of the 3 Noodle quests, the other 2 are locked until you play through the game again. The Xu Beak is simply a drop from the Xu that you can get after doing the hunt. And usually in pairs of like 3.
The Egg version of the Noodle quest has nothing to do with the beak itself or its droprate, and really only serves as a way to get to the campsite before the Xu quest unlocks (making travel somewhat easier preemptively).
Each of the Noodle quests lead to 3 different hunts you can do. One is Xu (egg), another is Behemoth (meat) and the 3rd is Karabos (shrimp). After doing any of these 3, you then unlock the Xu hunt at the mart near the volcano. The same mart with the Wyvern hunt that you can exploit for money/exp via ring magic.
How many beaks do you need to catalyst to gain Limit Break Magic? Or what's the max usage you usually got from doing so?
ultimadrago only need 1 beak for limit break, using 99 of an element and 10 beaks grants you 999 potency with 18 uses

You should still be able to! Head over to where I do the Zu hunt and you should also have access to it. How did the XP bonus work? 20% of what you had saved at that moment?

Try heading over to Veranas Mart near the Rock of Ravatogh and see if you can pick up the hunt there. You should still have access to it now that you have done the noodle quest.
LemonEatingKow ok so I completed the bounty hunt for the Zu, got a new recipe crispy zu skewers, but still nothing on magic limit break. cup of noodles give 20% xp boost. :(
The damage limit break magic comes form the Zu Beaks. These are obtained by killing the Zu in the Hunt 'Feathered Giant of the Firesmoke' which is unlocked by doing the Cup Noodle Mission.

I got Zu tenders all the times, it seems Square Enix has changed the drop ??!!
It definitely still works. I only recorded this video a day ago. I did have the Key of Prosperity, which increaees item drop chances. But it does drop. Consider eating mama or papa rice bowls for increased drop rates.
If you're still having a hard time, warp striking it's beak might help.

imthdude 5 That's the one. Little late to the party on this one but it is a solid farm. Also setting up the car/ camp loop helps.

imthdude 5 biggest help for combat is the Golden Tail Soup. It makes you a damn monster!

It drops. I got 6 beaks in 4 kills. Use mama rice bowl or papa rice bowl meal to increase your chances.

but for 99.999 damage I need the 999 power of magic or not?
It depends on a few things. The elemental weakness of the enemy. How much magic atk stat you have and the potency of the spell. You won't have to get 999 potency to hit 99,999 on most enemies but bosses may be a different story.

Will this hurt the angelus ?
Angelus is either impervious to magic or highly resistant. He changes his elemental weaknesses so it is hard to hit for high damage consistently.So I don't think this will be very effective on him. Best bet is to eat golden tail soup and melee the hell out of him.

Just a thought: this game is making me feel real guilty about the killing of wildlife and hunt missions. The act of collecting horns and tusks are acts of poaching. Am i observing an underlying trend of cruelty in this game? When is a monster an animal, and a human a monster. The hunt side quests do not seem to adequately justify the slaughter of seemingly passive creatures. Japanese killing of whales and dolphins for harvest comes to mind...a strange lack of humanity when it comes to animals. Even PETA is all upset about the overfishing (fishing w/o limit) in this game. Is this evidence of Japanese ideology towards the poaching of animals? The Japanese are responsible, for example, for the extinction of the Korean tiger by the 19th century, for use in Japanese medicines and "vitality enhancing" foods. An almost subconscious trend seems to be present here.

In Final Fantasy Tactics there is an actual command to poach monsters! You can trade their parts in at stores!
