In the books, Catelyn notices pretty early on that the musicians play very poorly, but she thinks it's because Walder Frey hired bad performers as a mockery. In reality, the reason they played so badly is that they were not musicians at all. It's heartbreaking when it sinks in for her. And for us.

Bro, watching your brain put the pieces together was ✨magical✨ so few people notice Roose eyeing Robb during the ceremony, the song being the rains of castamere, Roose marrying the Frey girl (though he said it was because Walder told him he’ll give her weight in silver so he picked the fat one), the speech Walder gives is clearly to get Robb away from Telisa and into the center of the room away from all his bannermen. Once Cat notices Roose is wearing chainmail it’s already over W reaction my man!

Alt Shift X made a video about it called "does robb stark die twice" here on yt but it's got spoilers also, that poetic phrasing thing foreshadowing future or parallel events is a hallmark of grrm's writing, highly recommend reading everything very carefully. I'm not from an english-speaking country and am considering buying the books in english just to read through them again

this episode is so awful :( but season 4 makes up for it, its one of my favorite seasons. I always think about poor Arya thinking she was going to be reunited with her family and go home :( but glad you caught the rains of castamere! Once they named thaat baby Ned he was already dead lol that was so fcked up.

I hate spoilers but I guess you have read something about it that you have noticed it immediately. I didn't even know it was the Rains of Castamere as they didn't really elaborate much about it rather than a tavern song but you knowing the music makes me think otherwise.
@@TheWallReacts I didn't really know the significance of the song aside from it was only played a few times once or twice before the incident at the Red Wedding nor what the Red Wedding was all about. I merely dismissed the song as a common song although I should have paid more attention with the subtle details like Catelyn's reaction to the song, wolf's behavior and the ominous closing of the doors but I guess I was just too distracted with the happy occasion, naming the unborn child and arya's arrival at the gate. never read the books but the build up to Robb's character as a potential hero or main cast had me fooled much like with Ned.

The moment we've all been waiting for. When I read this chapter in the book (from Cats POV) I threw it against the wall and sulked like a 4 year old.
