    This was one of the first soaps I made after learning the basics, and I still love it after having a few years of experience under my belt now. It’s rich and creamy, cleanses really well, and is not drying at all. Mine came out a bit darker, which I need to work on to get it a lighter color without adding a lightener, but the quality is wonderful.

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Год назад +1

      It may be darker if you used extra virgin olive oil instead of light- coloured olive oil 💚

    WoW, this is the best complete video of how to make soap.
    (Must have watched over 100 other videos and couldn't figure it out as a beginner)
    This one includes everything. From recepie, to ingredients, amounts, and a beautiful voice that explains step by step the whole process.
    Now, I feel confident enough to start making my own.
    You deserve a huge hug, and a huge thank you for taking your time making this video and for sharing..
    Your quality reflects in your products too..

    I'm just starting my soapmaking journey and have been learning everything I can. You're the first one I've come across so far that makes all natural soap, which is my goal. I will be watching all your videos!
    What is your opinion on using organic oils? Is it worth the extra expense, or is it not really necessary?

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Год назад +1

      The reason we use organic oils in soap recipes is to support organic and regenerative agriculture. It doesn't make any difference to the actual soap properties, in my opinion, but does ensure that our products have a sustainable footprint.

    I made a batch for the first time using your recipe. It turned out to be so beautiful. Thank you so much. After 48 hours, when I took the soap out of the mold, the bottom of it looked like a cookie dough. Is that common? I tried it though its really very creamy and lathers nicely❤

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  6 месяцев назад +1

      Sometimes soap can come out soft if it's made with a lot of soft oils (olive oil, etc) or was unmolded a bit too soon. It's fine to use, though, don't worry :)

    Hello Tanya, thank you for this amazing video! I have a couple questions, if you don't mind: Is it safe to use my usual kitchen tools and pans? If I can't find cocoa butter can I leave it out and only use the others? If I don't have an oven or microwave and similar can I just leave it outside overnight or has to be pass through the oven? Thanks again. I also wrote you on Instagram regarding a possible vegan course instead of using animal milk.

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Месяц назад

      Yes, you can use your current kitchen tools to make soap. Just ensure they are fully cleaned afterward - a dishwasher is great for that. No, you cannot leave the cocoa butter out. Soap recipes are natural chemical formulas and nothing should be changed unless you're an experienced soapmaker. Otherwise, the outcome could be disappointing or dangerous.

  • @trinasabatka1785

    You use an immersion blender to make your soaps. Do you have a commercial grade blender? I have heard some say the soap batter could blow the motor out in an immersion blender unless one has a commercial grade machine. Granted, you do short bursts, but have you had any problems with your immersion blender?

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Год назад +1

      That's only relevant for big batches - 50-100 bars at a time. Normal immersion blenders are perfect for small soap batches. The motor doesn't blow, and I have immersion blenders that are nearly ten years old and still work fine. They're some of the ones used in my soapmaking workshops.

    Such a beautiful soap!! 🌼 May I ask what is the reason you chose to use a small amount of essential oil for this one? I have tried using chamomile in soap and it was very light even when I used about 3-5% (from memory, it was a while ago) and I was a bit heartbroken about that 😢

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Год назад +2

      Thank you :) I use only a small amount because of cost - any more than that, and I feel that the end scent is pretty similar. Also, over time, the scent will fade from the outside of the soap bars. It's still there inside the soap, though, and comes out as you use it.

    I don't think that we can call soap natural noawadays since the lye used is synthetic sodium hydroxide.

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Год назад +1

      Sodium hydroxide is not synthetic - it's made through electrolysis of salt water. That is why it's considered a natural ingredient.

    • @Maria-Ortodoxa
      @Maria-Ortodoxa Год назад +1

      @@Lovelygreens the electrolysis is not natural. Various synthetic things are produced through electrolysis. Official data name it a synthetically manufactured substance. And if it's produced with a mercury-cell process, it can leave high amounts of mercury in the finished product. I'd love for it to be natural!

    • @Ossivar
      @Ossivar Год назад +1

      The USDA allow lye within their organic standards. You can't make a true soap without using it in the process somewhere. And of course you're not using it on your skin. The lye is used up and isn't contained in the final product.

    • @Maria-Ortodoxa
      @Maria-Ortodoxa Год назад +1

      @@Ossivar lye is not the problem here, synthetic lye is.

    The properties associated with Chamomile do not survive saponification and the same is true of any herb or plant matter.
