The mind is a wild dog that never runs out of energy, and to keep it in line it takes 100% focus all the time. The constant fight between mind and soul does get easier but it is work. If you guys meditate long enough you will become enlightened. Enlightened is a mysterious way of saying you now completely understand that the mind and the individual are two different things. If you look at the mind as the enemy it is a quick way to find just that. When your mind wants to do something, it is just an opportunity for you to tame your mind and say no to it. thank you so much for doing this... all these are such beautiful conversations... and isnt easy to do... so its great to see... especially someone u have been watching since a teen...
Sky I love you no matter what. If your habits make you feel like shit, don't sweat it, don't beat yourself up, because plenty of people in the world are gonna do that for you! It is hard work, but every time you find yourself in the same place it means you haven't learned what you needed to learn from that experience. If you find yourself back in the same place after making a mistake, just imagine what your absolute best self would do. Who is the person you absolutely want to be? Imagine what the best version of you would do whenever you're faced with a challenge or whenever you feel like shit. It takes a long time before you start to see a change, but I know from experience that anyone can change things that they're unhappy with ESPECIALLY if they're in full control of themselves! You only have to do 1 thing everyday that your best self would do and choose to challenge yourself more and more everyday (2 things, 3 things) until they become your new habits! I related to you so heavy years ago when you'd upload league vids, I used to watch your streams all the time until life hit me hard. You made me laugh and forget about my problems! You have to believe in yourself more Sky!--Don't call yourself trash. Keep lifting yourself up! Being nice to yourself doesn't mean you're condoning or enabling your own toxic behaviors! It means you don't define who you are by your mistakes! It means you believe that you can do better and you have the power to be better, because it makes you feel better instead of like shit! You can get better, but you absolutely MUST believe you're more than trash! You ARE NOT trash! Love up on yourself Sky no matter what! And also extend the love you give yourself to others no matter what! --Judge others less harshly, because that will help you treat yourself better too! Choose to define yourself by your intentions and try your best in intending to do right by others, because clearly doing the opposite and hurting people who love you and care about you makes you feel bad. Choose to do what makes you feel good--You can do it! You gave me the best laughs I ever had in this community--I'm literally gonna binge watch all your videos again, because I missed the fuck outta you, dude (I started a family and lost sight of my hobbies, so I fell off anything gaming related for a brick!) You helped me enjoy the League community more, you helped me connect with my friends in ways I couldn't before! You helped me understand what the world can be like for gay, black men! You are my favorite League of Legends personality and and with this interview, you've helped me remember the importance of self love and willpower! I hope to god you understand just how amazing you are--that even with toxic habits you have complete power over yourself, and that YOU are not your mistakes. With a vision for who you want to be and the will to act on that vision, You can change anything about yourself! I know this is a mouthful--I feel a lot and this video really resonates... I come from a place of ALL love when I type this, and I wish you the absolute best! I love you so much Sky.

Even when he leaves for a long time I'm always happy to see him come back.
hearing sky talk about all this stuff totally makes sense. I've definitely been able to pin point each thing he talked about and can remember him talking about it. Also when he talked about Leah and Dunkey it broke my damn heart, especially when Doc described "repair" as grieve and move on because I know Sky would do anything to be on good terms with her. Just... I'm really sad that Sky has always been aware of every issue he has, but hasn't been able to put it all together and start mending everything. I will be at Sky's side until he gives up. But I know he won't. I just wish there was a better way for us to let him know the genuine feelings we have for him and his situation. Like damn man we been hearing about this stuff for years and we are invested into whatever he bring to us, content or life. I'll stop rambling. That Leah moment got me emotional Edit: Also the moment that really jumped out to me was when Sky heard that he couldn't just laugh everything off anymore/ not everything can be made into a joke and forgotten. That was one of the few times that I have ever seen Sky just genuinely shook.
Hey Doc. I sense that the shadow in his mind is that he doesn't want to be like his brother and he is slowly becoming like him through all the repeated disappointments. He mentioned how they were inseparable and partners in crime and has come to this fundamental realisation that because he has no empathy and is okay with his toxicity, that his brother would be too. Sky is a different person and far kinder. I do hope he tackles his demons and becomes the best he can be.

Sky's honestly incredibly lucky it took so long for him to get cancelled -- I remember seeing him comment on just about EVERY piece of internet drama over the past decade. Always smugly inserting his two cents or laughing about someone getting their career taken away. Let it be a lesson to people who think it's cool to self-insert into everyone else's business. The bell eventually tolls for thee.
Honestly I have to agree. I used to really like his videos but there was always something off about him for me. Self centered, but in a negative way, too intensely. But ultimately there was nothing explicit going on and he was just a guy I watched on youtube and twitch occasionally. Now, I'm still not trying to impair absolute judgment or anything, but I'm not surprised at all that there's this much dirt behind his past. Without speaking of morality and good and bad, I had always thought Sky was a very troubled, emotionally unstable person. Now that strong impression is confirmed. I wish anyone involved in the "Sky Houses" drama, including him, well.
5:24 Lol! Every therapist that I went to reacted like this when I spoke to them about certain stuff at some point :D It's almost as if they were annoyed or frustrated with me..
Nah, to me that gesture feels like, "Oh I have your number now, I SEE whats wrong and i know how to fix it, let me just gather my thoughts so i can present it in a way that is understandable to you and we can build up from." I feel you should bring up the annoyed and disappointing part with your therapist because that could be a sign of how you were treated or you generally feel like a nuisance to other people( or your self image), so now you project the same feeling when you see someone expressing that particular body language.
Wow his example of getting to 900k by uploading weekly and thinking he was just mediocre hurt lol. I been uploading weekly for a year, and I'm more than happy with my current subs and the steady grow.. perspective is huge when it comes to mental health I feel..
man, having no prior knowledge about Sky this conversation really throws some curveballs. interesting parralel between sky paying his roommates to live with him and seeing this as a negative stagnating thing for them, and skys viewers paying him (to do a negative stagnating thing? or just to petetuate a cycle that leaves enough viewers dissapointed to sustain skys initial narrative). its strange to me that those relationships are viewed like that - supporting somebody is a positive action, being supported is a positive experience. sure - in both cases there are room for improvement - more consistent content and greater personal growth, but i would disagree with viewing the experiences as wholly negative just because they are not perfect. its all too easy to pick flaws, people want perfection and usually any perceived perfection is a result of lacking information.
I'm not finished watching yet but i still don't get WHY sky doesn't understand why all of us fans believe in him. Dude is funny as fuck when he's just being regular. I like him as an entertainer. He has his flaws like everyone else. Been watching him for years and people always love the goofy shit he posts (Besides all the twitter drama but that's just what he likes do participate in so /shrug.) I just want this man to bounce back mentally. We'll support the man until he gets his shit together just like these other content creators who are struggling. 1.6k viewers on twitch is PHENOMENAL for a streamer who goes live like twice a month. I wish he could just be more consistent and grow his shit again. He definitely can. GTA RP maybe? Also Idc that he's supporting his friends, we just want him to reach a happier place in life. thank you so much for doing this... all these are such beautiful conversations... and isnt easy to do... so its great to see... especially someone u have been watching since a teen...
You gave me the best laughs I ever had in this community--I'm literally gonna binge watch all your videos again, because I missed the fuck outta you, dude (I started a family and lost sight of my hobbies, so I fell off anything gaming related for a brick!)
You helped me enjoy the League community more, you helped me connect with my friends in ways I couldn't before!
I finished up my bachelors in psych a few months ago and now work on the research side of it. I'm nerding out on this so fucking hard because it's like art to me. This is so well done and so tangible in this ugly mess of umbrella content targeted at people who need help that just gets it so wrong so often. I really enjoy what you're doing here Dr. K
I hope we will see Gross Gore on here soon.
TSM Wukong ur finally back we need a new tsm death compilation

I loved this one because it's the only thing I found that resonates with me. 3 years in totally unexplained depression. I feel like I'm unfixable too but I'm unable to find my root while I am trying so hard with therapy, started with college, exercise, medication and meditating. The only thing I can do is cope, barely.
@HealthyGamerGG Any chance I can book a session with you? I'm more than happy to pay for a chance to become better.
If not, no hard feelings. I'm really thankful for what you're doing!
I read in the comments above that you can apply to have an interview on his site.
15:30 "yeah that's what I knew I was a semen demon" lmao that shocked a laugh out of me 🤣💀
Sky has always been one of my favorite content creators and I relate to the ups and downs of life. I just really hope to see him flourish and feel good about himself. Hopefully we can get some fresh and amazing content soon!!
Thank You Sky Williams, that somehow given me hope, cuz im like 25 and i already think its "too late".
Sirgan S too late? You’ll always be critiqued/ critized no matter what you do! So go do things that you want to do :)
it's never too late. always a way forward. but sometimes it means letting go of things in the past
Imagine downvoting something like this. You probably need to talk to dr k
for me is too hard to hear sky for too long
he can say millions words and actually not say anything meaningful

I wish Etika could have spoken with you brother. Keep up the fantastic work. Very entertaining and enlightening
Apathy is really common in ppl who struggle to live up to their own expectations. You have to hit rock bottom of loneliness before your brain forces you to be actively and constructively empathetic.
I can relate to that, im currently very apathetic
@@themanwiththebeard4632 Yeah idk what to tell you. Open up to someone about anything really, meditate on psychological issues... take a walk with your worst self and try not to burry what makes you most uncomfortable
Prime example of what kind of a sentimental world view mentally abusive parents mold their kids to hold. Infinite props to Sky for what an awesome figure he's become after all this shit man.
I personally think that many people can benefit from "just chatting on twitch". No matter who they are and how they feel.
I find so much in common with these interviews. Im going to try and do some meditation.
I needed this so bad today Dr K. I was on the brink of hurting myself and this helped me make a small shift. Does it solve everything? no. Am i still susceptible to hurting myself... yes. I'm going to see if i can get a week off of work and get a therapist that works remotely. Thank you thank you thank you
good luck to you brother. 2 months later i hope you're in a better place or still fighting the fight to get better! im with you man, keep going!
I love this trend of interviewing RUclipsrs/Streamers, it's going to open up a lot of people to therapy/mental health.

Does the way that you talk to these content creator in any way resemble the way your father spoke to you when he sent you to India? In your interview with Reckful i remember you said that you and your father "problem-solving conversation" and these interviews kinda give me that vibe.
Don't be trying to psycho-analyze a psycho-analyzer xd
Lets just be honest here, Dr K is the best therapist yall ever witnessed and we're all blessed to witness this in our lifetime.

I hope for his sake and everyone else's that he can get the help he needs.
I cannot even fathom what this man went through and the pain it's caused.
Wow, I totally get why Sky is so negative towards his brother. That story was fucking heartbreaking man.
Oh man, I have followed Sky for so long. I still watch a message to the depressed all the time. I wish I could tell him how much he impacted my life when I was in a dark place and inspired me to keep going even when I was failing so hard. Even when he leaves for a long time I'm always happy to see him come back.
Oof
there's a lesson to be learnt here somewhere... not quite sure what it is tho
this comment didn't age well AT ALL.
I might get addicted to these interviews *__*
hearing sky talk about all this stuff totally makes sense. That Leah moment got me emotional
Edit: Also the moment that really jumped out to me was when Sky heard that he couldn't just laugh everything off anymore/ not everything can be made into a joke and forgotten. That was one of the few times that I have ever seen Sky just genuinely shook.
When does he talk about dunkey and Leah?
> I was in various businesses in NYC, and the fact of the matter is- everybody wants to get to know you if you have connections. This is the way business works.
> In my case, people offered me various gifts & tokens & what appeared to be warm friendship..
> It is only when I left the business/s and the gifts & ‘friends’ fell away - that I woke up out of the dream world. 👀
> At first, I was very ashamed & disillusioned… But then, I realize that this happens everywhere/,All over the world 👋🏼/ It’s like you tip the door man at a club, or you give an envelope to the concierge at a hotel, etc. etc. - This is a standard in all business - nothing to be shocked or ashamed about. It’s part of the deal …
CANCEL CULTURE IS RETARDED but fuck sky
That whole pink ward analogy is fucking genius, i love it, like that hit me so clear.
Getting large as you deserve. Keep doing your great work
That's crazy how a brother can do something like that

Dr K is soo pleasant to watch. Are you gonna watch ESL LA for dota live? if so i hope you see my sign
Watching this NOW is a mood.
Wow, this one was incredible. Sky is an interesting person for sure.
man, having no prior knowledge about Sky this conversation really throws some curveballs.
interesting parralel between sky paying his roommates to live with him and seeing this as a negative stagnating thing for them, and skys viewers paying him (to do a negative stagnating thing? or just to petetuate a cycle that leaves enough viewers dissapointed to sustain skys initial narrative).
its strange to me that those relationships are viewed like that - supporting somebody is a positive action, being supported is a positive experience.
sure - in both cases there are room for improvement - more consistent content and greater personal growth, but i would disagree with viewing the experiences as wholly negative just because they are not perfect. its all too easy to pick flaws, people want perfection and usually any perceived perfection is a result of lacking information.
