Who cares
Tom Hertz I care. The fact that 7,000 people have cared enough to let me share my story with them means a lot to me. And most of those 7,000 people are 18-25 year olds that are probably having trouble coming out themselves. So It doesn't matter if you care or not. I care... I care that my video may be helping hundreds or thousands through one of the hardest things anyone has to live with.

Just came out about 2 week ago feel like ton of bricks are off my shoulders. I have known I was gay 20 years ago. Just got tried of being alone. I have watched a lot of coming out story yours is awesome.
Well done, I came out at 18 in 1983, always be true to yourself and to those around you, don't hide away behind a wall of smoke and mirrors, be kind, and enjoy life, much love to you from me in the UK ❤
My dad would be 91 if he were still with us. I never expected a guy who finished college in 1955 to understand being gay. I did however expect guys my age and younger to be more open minded. (age 63) It is really unfortunate that this is still the way it is. All parents should be prepared for their child to be different from their expectations as the world would be boring if we were all the same. Having a gay child is not unusual and certainly not changing who they are as a person. There is nothing that is going to change what is, accept it or don't.
The young men of today are quite articulate in the telling of their stories and life experiences. Go proud and brave, Nathen.

Thanks for sharing your story! I like your point about how when one reacts to another coming out, they should not say that they knew it all along because it undermines what that person has been battling on the inside. Every story matters, and yours is another that will change the world for the better! I came out in my high school yearbook quote lol: "I started high school with straight A's...now I'm not even straight! I'm still me, though!"

Nathen what a great coming out video you made! I am gay and way older then you. I wish when I was your age I dated guys but I didn't date anyone I was just closeted and afraid. I am out now and it's the best thing I ever did. No one knows what it feels like to come out except a gay or lgbt person. I never told my parents myself I was gay and I regret that because there no longer living. I wish you and your boyfriend the very best and I subscribed to your Chanel and so glad I found it!! Your Dad will come around to fully accept you I truly believe just give it time....

Daniel hi...I was in defence for 10 years....medically retired as a major..got into a relationship at 21 for 15 years...good going for you. most straight girls actually want to pop babies by that age...well done young man...how old is your fiance? ...I have no idea what he looks like....the fiance...I mean... how old is he and what does he do for a career? Wow how great. Im hopping to be able to go back in next year, I was medically separated part way though my training :( He is 24, and is currently an LPN studying to be an RN with a minor in video communications. I expect him to start posting videos very soon! I try to be as open as possible because I want to be able to reach and help as many people as I can. That is why I started my bootcamp journal series that shares my actual journal entries from my time there. it was hard to make the decision to share my personal feelings and thoughts but Im glad I am doing it. that should go until about oct 20th almost every single day haha

+MrSquareart exactly. From personal experience I know that coming out is a huge deal. If someone trusts and cares about you enough to come out to you before other people, it's a big deal.
It's been almost 6 years since I was first with a guy. Still can't bring myself to tell some people I'm gay. My story goes along with the story of telling your dad. And watching this again makes me emotional like it did the first time.

but also, im a bit confused about the last bit of your coming out story, you mentioned that your sister asked you if you were gay when you were very young i think u said you were like 5 or 4 or something, and then she said "i knew it" after u came out, but then u mentioned u had been with a guy before your sister asked u if you were gay and u at that point didnt know, im just confused about that? are you saying u were already with a guy at 5 years old to get a "release"? as you said? i

Well most people do assume another person is straight. Unless you have obvious gay labeled traits. High pitched voice, effeminate body gestures. Your family could have though your just friends. Unless you both hold hands long or kiss on the lips, & not italian/European most wont assume.

+Peter Talgaard65 not re marriage lol just a first marriage and we are only engaged. When I decided to join the military we realized that this is something we want to do. As a civilian you have the privilege of expecting to have plenty of time to live and grow and take your time. When you commit to being a member of the armed forces, you have no such expectation. You know that you are making a decision that can drastically reduce your life expectancy. That is why we wanted to make sure that we made this commitment now and could spend as much time as possible together. Also , I'm 23 lol
