- You guys, this is legit! If you are like me, you never eat baby back ribs at home because you never took the time or had the time to let them slow cook all day. If you didn't they were tough and chewy. No more waiting to eat chewy ribs! The instant pot is my best friend, lol! I have made baby back ribs more than 5 x's in the last year or so and everyone I've made them for is so impressed! They have been perfect every time! All you need is your instant pot, the trivet that comes with it, your favorite dry rub and 1 hour! Enjoy!

Great video - I will be trying this recipe and cooking method tomorrow for sure.
Thank you! You won't be disappointed!
All i can say is your tile is correct, these ribs are so good, i would never have thought my instant pot could produce such a tasty rib, thank you, you saved me hours on the grill!👏🏼
Isn't it amazing!!!! It saves so much time!!!
Found this site Sunday. Made ribs Sunday afternoon. WOW! So Good! Incredible taste. Thank you!
Yay! You're welcome! It definitely makes ribs more of an option for us. So quick and easy!
My memory is awful and I watching every time. I wish I could like the video every time I watch it. Haha. Thank you so much for posting this. Love it!
Thank you for this! I did the ribs and corn…both came out delicious.
I have tried several recipes for ribs on youtube, and this is the best one of all. Thank you; we really enjoyed these tonight!
I made this for dinner, wow soooo goood. Thank you and I think I will never ever make ribs and corn any other way.
This is the perfect woman. Recipe was great I tried it tonight.. Worked great!!
I have 2 instant pots running right now with this recipe ... we have a big family 🤣 can't wait to taste them! Thanks a bunch because this recipe was SUPER EASY!
I just want to say thank you for sharing and I am so in love with my instapot you can make so many different things there and it's true it takes last time but thank you for sharing and yes they come falling off the bone and that's the best part
I just bought the Indtant Pot Duo Crisp that has 2 lids (one lid has the heating element built inside itself)....going to follow your recipe, the only difference is that I can now caramelize the BBQ sauce IN the pot after pressure cooking! I love this IP!
I have that one too!! The Ninja. It's amazing!
I realize we have smoked paprika but nobody added liquid smoke? I made these once and they were off the chain amazing. I did remove the membrane first and as such I am reducing my cook time down to 20 minutes because they were falling apart a little too much. Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe!
So good! Used 1 bottle of Organic Apple Cider (alcoholic). Worked a treat! Whole family lived them. Although wish we could get those large ribs like you used here in Australia!
Damn it girl. These were freeking good. Thanks for taking the time to do this video for us.
Add a little liquid smoke to the water too. 1-3 teaspoons
Great idea! Thank you!
I do 2 slabs of ribs at once in mine. 1 large set and 1 smaller set that can set down inside the larger one.
Tried this yesterday. Ribs were fantastic!
Awesome!!
Can't wait to try it! Excellent video and presentation, thanks!
When i see all those videos of cooking them all day long, = such a waste of electricity or cooking gas or time === . Ribs love the instant pot . I am sure at those Barbeque contests, these will never win the prizes but they win with my family.
My family liked this, thanks for sharing. :)
Thank you thank you!!! This is my go-to rib recipe and I give it to EVERYONE who needs a rib recipe. SO GOOD and so easy!!! Also.. who in Gods earth likes a chewy rib?! Lol❤️
Yes!!! Isn't it though!!! I make them all the time now!!
Good recipe. I remove the membrane and would change the foil.
The foil goes in the oven. Itll be fine. Germs die at 165F
I would also do both. I cringed on the foil. There's nothing sanitary about mixing cooked meat with raw meat juice, even if it's going to be cooked again.
Instant Pot Babyback Ribs
Dry Rub
3 pounds of baby back ribs
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
3 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon black pepper
You'll also need 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar, and 1/2 of water.
Using a spoon, evenly distribute the dry rub, then using your hands work the
dry rub into the meat. Flip the meat over and do the same thing.
Place the trivet into your instant pot.
Add 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar poured into the instant pot.
If using an 8 quart instant pot double the liquid.
Put meat on the trivet in the instant pot and hit the manual button for 25 minutes. If you like chewy
ribs then set the pot for 15 minutes.
When done wait 10 to 15 minutes before opening the lid.
After taking out the ribs you can coat them with your favorite barbeque sauce and
put them under the broiler for 5 minutes. Take them out and enjoy!
As a bonus, you can cook corn on the cob in the instant pot in the rib juice for 2 minutes while waiting
for your ribs to brown in the oven.
Please tell me you changed out the foil before pulling ribs out of pot. Worried about bacteria. Over all looks good.
The heat from the hot meat should kill any bacteria under the slab, and the broiling heat just take care of the rest of the foil.
For what it's worth, pork is just as safe as beef nowadays, and can be safely consumed to similar "doneness" preference.

I eat my pork rare that foil ain’t hurting nothing fire kills everything
@@dinh71forget all that. Wash everything first!

You do you, Boo!
I've been trying to find simplist recipes. I finally have the kitchen to myself, part of the day, and I'm just learning how to do it.
Is the broiling necessary? I was hoping to do this solely with the pressure cooker. Or is there an alternate recipe with the baby baks?
Not necessary at all! The broiling carmalizes the sugar and makes it more sticky, but definitely not a necessary step. I'm making these this week too!
Tried it for the first time a couple of days ago. Worked out fine, I used a Toaster oven instead of a broiler, for 3 minutes each side.
@@NerissaNikole
will try on sunday....cheers
Cheers!
I have never made rice in my instapot but I believe is different from a rice cooker I always do it on the stove what is the best way to do in the instant pot
I'm trying this out today with my Viva Instant Pot.
Thank you very much for the receipe! If I don't have apple cider vinegar, can I use regular white vinegar?
Yes, definitely!! You can also omit it and replace it with water 😊
@@NerissaNikole thank you so much for getting back to me! I made it yesterday and my girls loved it!!! However I thought I can improve as I cut the ribs in half before I put in the instant pot to cook then after cooked, i put into oven for broil but half came out dried and the other half was luckily ok but it wasn't very juicy. I probably put in my steam convection oven too long. I think I put in the oven for broil at 375° for 5 mins first but it doesn't have the brown BBQ look so I added another 5 mins at 425° at the end which finally gave me that bbq baby back ribs look but half was all dried up. How many degree and how long do you put in the oven when broiling? How can I make it more juicy? I don't really know how to cook, if you have any suggestions would greatly appreciated! Thanks again for the wonderful easy recipe for moms like me that doesn't really know how to cook! 🤣
@@NerissaNikole I used fresh squeezed lemon juice since I did not have the apple cider vinegar. Is that ok? Mine is still in the instant pot cooking.
I just don’t know you want me take it out after 10 min or 25 min?
I want the fall apart ribs.
You said you like yours fall apart but in the video, you took your ribs out after 10 min so what did I miss?
@@khineli7735 she pressure cooked for 25 minutes then allowed a 10 minute natural release.
For people finding this in 2021 - you do need to remove the membrane (silver skin) using a paper towel to grasp it - but you can leave the rub and/or sauce off until after it comes out of the Instant Pot. Otherwise, most of it is just going to end up in your apple juice or water. And yes, you can just use water.
Trying this now....THANKS!!
Looks great. Try removing the membrane from the inside of the ribs next time.
Thank you!
Removing that membrane really really makes them easier to eat! Use a piece of paper towel to grab the membrane and more easily remove it.
@@beaukneaus Yup, that's what I'm talking about.
@@akquicksilver I read a comment a few posts down that raised my eyebrow though. If the instant pot cooks them differently, it might not be a necessary thing. The first batch I cook, I'm gonna try it both ways.
Wonderful
A real newbie here. Saw you did not pull off membrane. Look good. Thanks.
That’s exactly what I was thinking 🤔
Hey ladies! So, I probably should have, but I had read that you don't need to remove the membrane when pressure cooking. Leaving the membrane on can make them tough and not get as much flavor, but they definitely aren't tough in the IP! They may be even more tender if removed though. And even more flavorful!
Thanks
Welcome!
My ribs came out good, but I would leave them in for 30 minutes with 10 min release next time.
What I don’t understand is you said cook for 25 min pressure if I want the fall apart ribs but did you rake it out after 10 min and then broiler for 5 min?
I am confused.
Pressure cook for 25 minutes, natural pressure release for 10 minutes (a must for any meat), then I chose to broil for 5 minutes to get crispy edges. The last step is optional.
What if I don't have the insert?
You can use anything cilicone or metal that will fit and will hold up those yummy ribs! You could also ball up some aluminum foil as long as you keep the ribs off the bottom. 😋 hope this helps!
4th and the most important thing BBQ sauce.
Beer the fourth thing is beer.😂🤣
Sweet Baby Rays My favorite! Awesome demo steps for me to follow today Nerissa! I am excited to add some wood chips to my Charbroil and grill for my final step! Happy 2022 Fall all!
Yum
Soooo yum!!
Put bay leaf, garlic, and onions in the pot to get rid of the gamy odor and aftertaste. Never cook corn in instant pot. Just let it sit in hot boiled (not boiling) water for 10 minutes.
Corn in the instant pot is amazing. I do mine for 3 minutes. Way faster and tastes better
What’s the dry rub ingredients
This rub is really good!! It is 3 Tbls brown sugar, 3 tsp salt, 2 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp black pepper 😊
Thanks so much
Why would you take the cooked ribs and put them back on the foil you used for raw ribs😳😳
Oh my Lord. Finger licking good. I'll never grill ribs again.
Cooked for 25 minutes like you said, NOT tender, I did everything like you did. Chewy and hard to get off the bone! ;-(
Hmmmm, you even let it come off of pressure naturally? I've never had that issue, even with leaving the membrane on.
@@NerissaNikole Yes Ma'am, let pressure off naturally. Maybe I just got some bad ribs to begin with. 🤔 Enjoyed your video though. 😊
I usually make them in the oven and they always get dry.
I can’t believe u didn’t rinse them off first!
Lol, rinsing meat is a big debate! I
There is only one Important thing you forgot.... to remove the connective tissue off back side of rack of ribs....🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ HOWEVER Yours Look Yummy ❤️😋
Hey Michelle! Thank you 😍 i probably should have, but I had read somewhere that you didn't need to when pressure cooking (I should have mentioned that in the video too). They turn out great, but I bet they would be even better with the membrane removed.
Nerissa Nikole oh Wow.... Well no need to do it then.... I think it was a pain in the butt to remove AND yours looked MUCH better than mine 😞 So what do I know... Lol Please accept my apology!!! Amazing Video ☦️💜☦️
Michelle is right. I also remove the silverskin by prying up an edge and grabbing it with a paper towel. This way the rub seems to permeate the ribs better.
Lots of great collagen in the membrane. I always lea e it on and it's never chewy or gummy. Great recipe. Thanks!
Don’t forget to remove the membrane
My ribs came out amazing fall of the bone in under 45 minutes
Isn't amazing! Best hack ever!!
Is Your Grandpa still around?
This really cooks the ribs well but the vinegar ruined it, it was bad, so I would maybe leave the vinegar out or maybe a table spoon.. I followed the recipe and all we could taste was a nasty vinegar taste, so food for thought, other than that good video.
Sorry, but you forgot one Very important step ! You need to remove the tough membrane off the back side of the ribs, because even a pressure cooker will not break it down , so they WILL be a little chewy !
Yep I mentioned that too. And also coat the meat with oil or mustard to help the dry rub adhere
You should at first took the membrane off the back of the baby back ribs making it much more tender otherwise good video.
I hope you removed the silverskin
Talk too much
Memphis dry ribs in a instant pot
Oh my, that sounds amazing!!
