I love these ladies. They make me feel safe.
How so ?
@@michaelo1492 where do you think the meat really comes from and why so many people go missing in the area....
Your videos lately have been fantastic, bravo
They are great! Wonderful teachers and they make you feel like you can do it. I have yet to find a recipe I can’t cook. Imma single Dad who is confident in the kitchen now! Thanks ladies!
I'm using this slow cooker method. It's great for the 90+ weather days and no major cleaning! 😊
Who's here watching for memorial Day .geting ideas 2020 .
Cant go out to eat because of covid 19 Might as well stay in to cook ..Happy memorial day everyone stay safe ..
Got my ribs and never made in the my Crockpot so going to give it a try, I've watched quite a few videos and I liked their technique so going to try w/o the stew effect
💙🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸💙
My first time ever cooking these kind of ribs and I will never cook them any other way!! My husband loved them! I can't wait to cook them for my friends this summer
Tried the recipe. Excellent and close enough to real outdoor bbq ribs on a rainy or snowy day. I did not take the membrane off as suggested and it helped keep the ribs together.
For all those that “demanded” the membrane removal, you probably didn’t leave your ribs in the slow cooker long enough or you may have a failing cooker.
Thank you ladies for a great recipe!
If you're religiously dedicated to removing it, it comes off after cooking super easily. Why waste time? I do slit it and throw some rub on it before cooking. Seems to offset any flavor-blocking the membrane might cause.
Just made these and WOW! I stole the show with my family, SO tasty and moist! Can’t wait to make for more people! Appreciate and enjoy you two very much! Thank you❤️
Same! I want to have people over just to have them!
but what do we do about the secret spice used in the barbeque sauce recipe? What do we use for the secret spice at 5:22?
I might be a little late but at 2:36, they say to use a tablespoon of the rub they used for the rib
@@davek.5939you retain 1 tablespoon of of the dry rub spice mix you make at the beginning
Thank you@@aeonjoey3d
ATK is my go to for any recipe. After 20 years of watching, you never fail me. Making ribs for the Memorial holiday. Thank you for your hard work.
The more I watch Cook's Country/ATK, the more I believe y'all are the best chefs in the world. Every recipe is delicious, and technique brilliant.
I made these ribs without the membrane and liquid smoke in the sauce and cut the recipe in half for 2 people. When taking them out of the slow cooker after 5 hours, they were falling off the bone. After baking them for 10 minutes because our broiler burns everything within 2 minutes, and adding more sauce, my bff declared them restaurant quality. To me, they were melt in your mouth heaven. Will definitely make these again. Thanks, ATK.
It does look 100% better than the old slow cooker stew method. Can't wait to try this.
its not that much different...there will be liquid remaining in both methods...thats what slow cookers do...this method is good for bbq rub fans...because the product is dry...
So glad I found this! I have some racks I wanted to try in the slow cooker tonight...never did them that way...and I was going to do the Coke method.
This makes MUCH more sense, especially how to position them.
THANKS!!!
Ladies thank you so much for presenting this recipe of the slow cooker ribs. I never knew about cooking BBQ Ribs in a slow cooker. I have been watching you on PBS for years.
I decided to try something different for the New Year. This no fuss no mess method of making ribs was fantastic! Living in Chgo(where the) temps are in the teen's & it's 10-inches of *Snow* on the ground, I'm making ribs(again) for the Superbowl...
BEST RECIPE ON THE INTERNET FOR RIBS!! THANK YOU!!
Love watching these ladies cook.
I do too but they're too chatty IMO. I turn the sound off and say rude things about them.
I watch you guys every day, I gotta say it's best part of my day😊
Thank you ladies I have made ribs in a slow cooker before and like you said it's more like a stew by the time you're done. I'm going to try this method this weekend and make them prove my father who is coming to my house to help me install a screen door. This is how I'm going to show him my appreciation. and it looks like it would be great serve with beer 😇
Thank you ladies. You're the greatest! I used half garlic powder and half onion powder. Then threw a few peeled garlic cloves in the crock. Finished them off on our little grill for the proper char - and oven clean up concerns. Too chicken to make our own sauce - no molasses or apple juice in the pantry! Plus we have some excellent local sources of some pretty decent store bought sauce. Just my little tweeks!
Tried this for July 4th meal along with the Backyard Barbecue Beans (with the bean ingredients cut in half). Both were outstanding! Ribs were perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious. The beans were equal to the ribs. An excellent contribution to the family's Holiday. Thanks Cook's Country and ATK.
Recently did a pressure cooker (one of those I Pots) version very similar to this crock pot recipe. Also turned out great, and was about 90 minutes from start to finish. 40 minutes was heat up/cook/release time. Rest prep work and final slather of sauce for the broiler. For winter time when the smoker is packed away, these kinds of recipes are super great alternatives.
I loved the cooking method. I stuck with my rub and BBQ sauce and they were fantastic. Thanks for the guided tour!
Made them once b4 and going to cook them over night today again. Sooo yummy!!!!
OMG these were SOOOOO good! Mine only took 5 hours in the slow cooker and I did add 1/4 c. apple cider because my cooker burns things when it is dry. They turned out perfect! Tender, juicy, and finger-licking good!
but what do we do about the secret spice used in the barbeque sauce recipe? What do we use for the secret spice at 5:22?
@@davek.5939
Secret spice is at 2:08-2:40ish
@davek.5939 If you watch the entire video the secret spice is basically the rub. She set some of it aside at the beginning. Somewhere between 2:20 and 2:40.
I've made this a few times. My best rendition is half the ribs basted with the barbecue sauce in this recipe and the other half I did with homemade South Carolina mustard barbecue sauce. For the side dish I made Christie's smashed potato salad. It was a huge hit!
I think i will try these for Memorial Day tomorrow thanks for sharing ..
I watched a number styles of cooking the rib . I really liked yours best
Q: How many ribs would you like?
A: Yes!! LOL!
I thought that was funny too! That would have been my answer...lol
Lol yes, I thought that was funny too.
..."a full skeleton, please!" 😅
I find liquid smoke applied a couple hours before prepping with dry rub gives it the grill taste - When it is snowing or raining outside!.
This is an ego thing but I enjoy winter grilling more than summer grilling because I know that people from many blocks over can smell my grill/smoker and I just imagine how jealous they are. Is that wrong? ;)
@@ftswarbill - ... tsk!
Yum, thank you ladies our appreciation from NZ. Gonna try this method out
They are so good at this.
Bravo! I will try this today! Great instructional video Bridget and Julia!
Worked great!! Some of the best ribs I ever had! You can used a store bought rub and sauce to make it even easier!
but what do we do about the secret spice used in the barbeque sauce recipe? What do we use for the secret spice at 5:22?
Very good idea for using the slow cooker, and this actually works well
Cooked these twice in as many weeks. Love them! My go to recipe for this up coming holiday season for pot lucks and dinner parties in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
I made this last night baby back ribs & we will be eating it 4 lunch today. I started cooking the ribs around 1am & by 5:30am it was ready 4 the oven 😋
Trying these on Sunday!
Okay I've made these twice now and making them again now - THEY ARE AMAZING!!!! I substituted BBQ sauce from a bottle, plus some apple cider vinegar and the spice mix bc I don't have any of the other ingredients to make it lol, but it still comes out amazing! I did add some mustard.
It's the way I do ribs (when I can't use the grill) but I don't like how they waste the liquid from the CP. I use the liquid from the CP as a base for my BBQ sauce. That way I don't waste any of the meat flavors that is in the liquid.
Thats a great tip! Thanks!!😊
Me too - the liquid that came out of the cooker. I will use it for the base of the sauce and cook it down...
You can cook some brown rice in that
@Fredrik- but it is so ... 'liquidy'... too thin for 'suce'?
@@tracer740 As I said, I use it as a 'base' for my BBQ sauce. All that flavor is too good too lose. Just cook it down with some ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar/molasses/honey, worcheshire-or-how-ever-you-spell that, some spices and chilli. For spices I usually use a couple of tablespoons of whatever rub I'm using on the ribs. It'll be awesome.
I got a hankering for bbq ribs now.
Yep that's how it's done! Love them.♥️
These look absolutely Amazing!!! I cant wait to try them!!! That is for the great video
5:44 that's what she said.
Yay, a way to do ribs once the snow comes! And where I live the snow will come, aoon...
2 racks at Louis spare ribs (2-3 lbs each)
Rub:
2 tbs paprika
1 tbs packed brown sugar
1 tbs kosher salt
2 tsp granulated garlic
2 tsp granulated onion
2 tsp ground pepper
(Reserve 1 tbs for later)
BBQ sauce:
3/4 cup Ketchup
6 tbs apple juice
2 tbs molasses
2 tbs apple cider vinegar
2 tbs worcestershire
1 tbs yellow mustard
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp liquid smoke
1 tbs reserved rub spices
Thank you!!
Got rack n the oven right now gonna finish off with Thai sweet chili sauce. The next rack will be this one.
I made these ribs tonight. The meat just fell off the bones! It was delicious. It was beyond my expectations.
I make these from an older ATK recipe. They always turned out excellent, but now they add garlic and onion power to the rub, which I now do as well. Great for an apartment dweller without a patio or balcony.
My dish came unbelievably delicious, great recipe😋
I've made ribs in the oven before, and the meat was a little chewier than I would have liked. I'll have to give this a try. Thanks.
I usually make my ribs in the oven and get them pretty fall off the bone tender. What's worked for me is to put them meat side down between 2 pieces of foil, top and bottom, so 4 total, and then roll and crimp the edges. After about 2 hours for 4 lbs take them out and basically do the rest of this video with sauce and the broiler. I sauce and broil both sides for a couple minutes.
Great, I watch one earlier and they pour a ton of liquid into the pot, was thinking, all the juices will be drained away, yours is perfect, same thought, awesome!
I am going to make these tomorrow. I had to buy a new slow cooker and it was delivered yesterday. The ribs will take another day to thaw. I can't wait! (I might even use some ketchup)
Right I've got a slow cooker and I'm going to give it a go
Anita from the UK 🇬🇧
okay, I just did this, MAN OH MAN patience is hard. 4 minutes under my broiler turned about 1/3 of the tops crisp briquette black, but I'm letting them rest the full 20 before putting the final coating of sauce, we'll see. FINGERS CROSSED!
First time making ribs and this video was the first to pop up. Made it as instructed minus the bbq sauce cus I’m a dude so I just used store bought. Man this was amazing I tell ya. You get an ace from me. Search up elote and that’s what corn I used to go along with these ribs. Life Changer!
After applying the dry rub, I rack the ribs uncovered in the fridege for 24 hours before cooking.
I.love the infomercial vibe.
Made this dish today..family loved it.
Bridgit and Julia really came through
as always. Moist, tender ,juicy
flavorful. Added some of the juices in the crock to the sauce..over the top good love you ladies
I like these 2 ladies!
Super!!! Tried it myself, this will be my recipe, a dream!!
I love y’all I’m making some because my stove went out so I have to cook them in the crock pot but no
Broiler🥲. I’m going in anyway. Wish me luck. Love your show. I watch you all the time❤️🌹🌹
Just made these today and they are awesome
I've made this recipe in my slow cooker. VERY GOOD!!!!
Nice
In MY house, they wouldn't have made passed "painting on the sauce" (my kids are 22 & 26 lol)
I just started making it thank you.
I made these today! They were AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
I've been making them the 'normal' way in the slow cooker with bbq sauce in a stack and yeah, I always end up with a bowl of liquid and meh ribs, this is crazy different, can't wait to see what happens
I’m definitely going to be making these thank you so much😊❤️👍
Missed opportunity using the slow cooker juices to make an epic BBQ sauce.
Awesome idea!
Think im going to do that with those juices for my sauce hate to waste them . thanks for the idea
I kept thinking when are they going to add that slow cooker juice
Gotta be careful, because those juices can be rather salty.
Not really. That "juice" from the slow cooker is mostly water and fat. Not the best stuff to make a BBQ sauce with.
Got my st louis style ribs and am planning to cook these tomorro. Cant wait!
Great video. I miss watching you two on tv. Looks delicious 😋
I saw this last night, I have to Amit that these look amazingly delicious! I glad I found it again so I can write it down this time! Still looking for the popcorn chicken recipe 😬
Time for the test kitchen to get a big barrel smoker! 🤪
Excellent ladies!
Now I can make ribs in the winter without freezing my giblets off.
I do ribs the same way, but in a pressure cooker. The rub really does make a difference.
AWESOME 👌
Excellent! Just excellent. I watched a lot of cooking with the slow cooker and I must say; this is the very best I've seen so far. I learn a very good lesson here in cooking ribs in the slow cooker.
This really worked. Totally enjoyed the ease of this dish and the taste. Thanks.
Hello ladies I watched you all the time on PBS with the tall guy with glasses. I've got to get me a slow cooker these look delicious and would be my 1st time making BBQ ribs. I also would like to try making the BBQ sauce.
A big hit with my family.
Yummy
I just tryed this method and i must say unreal i used a custom rub let it sit for 12 hours then dropped them in the slow cooker on low for 8.5hrs no water absoulutly fanominal the way they turned out ill do it this way all the time
Mom used to make the best ribs just in the oven alone. In fact, you can do this in the oven to AMAZING results that are even more tender than these. These still look great, but I wanted them to do a fall off the bone test. Didn't look like they quite achieved that, but still looked moist.
Im trying to teach myself how to cook . This makes cooking seem way less difficult (scary) THANK YOU
They make crockpot liners that even fit oval slow cookers. They only cost about .50 cent's a piece. They work great . Make clean up a breeze. Definitely worth the money.
Since its so bloody hot here , I will be making these for 4th celebration. Perfect, because I have the St, Louis's. Addn: sure putting off a lot of liquid in slowcooker going low, --2 hours to go. Update to come. Update: fall of the bone delicious. Definite go-to for future ribbing.
this felt like one of those infomercials for some new cooking contraptions 🤪 in an amusing way
These ribs are delicious and meaty but the best part is this recipe is simple!!! These will be my summer go to rib recipe. Fabulous job. Thank you ladies. I was really lazy and used bottled bbq sauce and they turned out perfectly. I, like you, don';t like the liquidy (a word?) ribs.
I like it
I use the liquid from the crock pot as a base for soups. So delicious!
Yes, it is good. But the juice has fat in it.
You can easily separate the fat by pouring all the juice in a pancake batter dispenser, the fat rises to the top. Then just dispense the juice in a bowl and leave the fat in the dispenser.
You will be amazed.
About to make my first ever crockpot ribs and I'm so glad I came across this recipe. Is there anything you can do with the liquid in the crockpot?
that broiler looks like the perfect super cheat trick for wood chips. might add extra real smoker smoke flavor because of how close to the grill the sheet is
I made the St.Louis ribs and they were amazing! Will never cook these another way
I like how you ladies made those ribs. Great idea! Have to try it! Yum!!
I love you, Bridget.
I did ribs in the slow cooker before but with the rub and a 2 liter of Dr Pepper. Came out great. And I did the end part the exact same way. Under the broiler
Just purchased 2 racks of ribs. Gettin ready to try this recipe right now. 😛
She knows what she’s doing and it shows
