    Denis Potvin played for the Ottawa 67's when he was 13 year old. Potvin's father insisted that his older brother also had to play in order to protect him. It was mayhem hockey then in the Broadway Bullies era with Steve Durbano etc.. playing in the OHL. . The Montreal Expos had scouting camps and Denis Potvin and Bryan McSheffrey were the 2 best baseball prospects in Canada. Potvin was also an excellent football and lacrosse player but the 67's insisted that he stopped playing those sports. I went to the same primary school ( Notre dame de la Joie) and the school had to put grills on the windows facing the baseball diamond as Potvin kept breaking them . No one else was anywhere close to hitting the balls that far. By the way, Potvin was so strong that he did not need his brother's protection.

    Its a good thing he was held back. He is not a big guy. He has had multiple concussions, hockey is a brutal sport, as a shorter guy he would have eaten more head shots. The leagues did him a service holding him back so he could mature physically. Still he got there in time. Sid the kid doing well in NHL at 18

    Bedard is going to be really good but he is imo going to be a step behind other recent elites like Crosby/McDavid/McKinnon.He might end up similar to a Kopitar.
    IDK about Wright i feel he is a good player he seems to be good at everything but not elite at anything.He MIGHT have a good shot especially if it gets better and he keeps his head up when shooting.The problem for Wright is the Kraken have a couple vets in Donato and Wennberg at center as well as Geekie so Wright has to battle to get second line status because he is not taking Beniers job at center.If Wright ends up on third or 4th line he will have terrible numbers and a huge minus and might hamper his career and badly so he needs to get up on the second line.

    Let’s not confuse the terms “exceptional” and “generational”. JT, Shane Wright are exceptional talents. Better then everyone by a fair bit. Even two,3,4 years up.
    Crosby and MacDavid are better than everyone by a LOT. Even 2,3,4 years up.

      Shane Wright hasn't even played a single NHL game yet and you're projecting his career? Lmao. From everything I've read about the kid he projects to be a player with speed rivalling McDavid's, he may not put up point like McDavid but you're gonna be able to play him on the first PK and the kid has bite. Let's say Shane records 90 point seasons and wins a Selke while McDavid puts up 130 points and doesn't even kill a penalty I'll take Wright over McDavid if that ends up being the case. Crosby won a cup around 23 and got Kunitz on Team Canada.. if McDavid was as good as Crosby was, he'd have found a way especially in today's younger NHL.

      Mcdavid > Crosby. Don't get me wrong, Crosby is great too, but he is on no where as dysfunctional of a organization as the oilers. The penguins number two center is (or was) also top ten in the league (I'll let you guess who) so he had help. Plus the oilers look good so far this year.

    • @shaneverge5673

      @@Hatemode_NJ Crosby>Mcdavid. Pittsburgh was pretty dysfunctional themselves before they got Crosby. Not to mention he has won 3 cups, makes every winger he plays with an all star, does not rely on Malkin. Mcdavid hasnt won jack shit, has gone through so many wingers that he never clicked with, and heavily relies on Draisaitl

      @@Hatemode_NJ Pittsburgh was damn near in bankruptcy and there were even talks of moving the team until they turned it around after drafting Crosby. Both are phenomenal players, but Crosby’s resume is nothing short of amazing with three cups and two gold medals.

      @Hatemode_NJ 3 года назад
