Pete Babando has the greatest game winner ever. It was Game 7 of the 1950 Stanley Cup Final and the Red Wings, playing without Superstar and future Legend Gordie Howe, won Game 7 in double overtime. The goal began a dynasty, as the Red Wings also won Cups in 1952, 1954, and 1955.

It literally took about 10 seconds for me to process that the capitals actually beat the Penguins in overtime to end a series! because it’s always the opposite way… I called my brother. the Kane buzzer beater vs Vegas that got waived off for being literally 0.1 seconds late on review (on TV it was in with 0.1 seconds left) was his final game action at the United Center as a Blackhawk. he would take a shootout attempt after that OT and do a sarcastic slapshot as a reference to it, but the buzzer beater was the last actual gameplay. and then his next game at the United Center was this year w the walkoff in OT. consecutive games for him in that arena.
