Two things, he missed a good chunk of the season with a broken jaw. He also had very little help because the team was terrible and his line mates weren't very good.
Hes like stamkos early on. He needs time to learn the pro game Hes doing okay but to jump to the next level he needs to learn and thata something he is good at. Look for him to be better but he needs one more year to figure things out.
i think hes okay, around a ppg in his rookie year even with an injury is something special to behold. watched this kid since he was like 12 years old and knew he would be a force once he joined the NHL, and hoped the canes would take him somehow.
Bro I don't know why you think you Know better than NHL scouts but clearly you aren't watching the same player. He has somethings he needs to Iron out but the potential is all there
Bedard is a bust. The worst defensive liability in the modern era of hockey. The worst +/- of any rookie in the last 30 years. Worse even than rookies in the 1980s when everyone had blown out stats. In the three decades since then, other rookies have played on worse teams, like Hossa in Ottawa, or Kovalchuk in Atlanta, and done far better. Dickinson played on the same team and was a +5. 18-year-olds playing on poor teams last year, like Benson and Fantilli, did far better than Bedard. No excuses. Dude is just out to pad his stats.
Buddy he was a rookie on a horrible blackhawks team, remember when ovi also had a horrible plus minus and also sid the kid had a bad plus minus, you are just hating cause you know that bedard will be a superstar and he’s not on your team
@@sethking4311 Crosby was a respectable -1 in his rookie year. Ovechkin was a +2. Very respectable for a rookie. Kovalchuk was a rookie on a worse team and did way better than "generational talent" Bedard. Face it - he's the worst defensive liability in 30 years.
@@Borodin410 well yes bedard had a horrible plus minus, but it was because he was on an awful blackhawks team with virtually no talent, basically an AHL team and got 61 points and won the Calder on a horrible team, once he gets better team around him you will see how good he really is
@@sethking4311 Did you read what I wrote? Dude you need to get tested for those brain eating amoebas. Regardless of +/- the fact that he was very nearly a point per game player is of huge value to almost every team. As far as you honing in on that particular stat, the blackhawks had a glorified AHL team last year. Mrazek as a starter, and seth Jones was the best D man. Sidney Crosby started his career with Letang, Malkin, and Mario Lemieux in an era that had much less scoring. Also Fucking Kovalchuck are you retarted? Bedard had 10 more points in only three extra games in their respective seasons. a 0.89 PPG to a 0.78. Face it +/- is a boderline useless stat that doesn't really tell much of anything other than the performance of a team projected on to a player. Was Bedard's defence exceptional? No. It was sub-par but considering he currently is on a 136 point pace I'd say your comment is embarrassing

We went from kaner and tazer to Bedard. Truly blessed.
Yup you’re right. It was a fixed draft. There was literally no reason why he shouldn’t be on the Ducks roster right now
Bedard is 18...when he's 22 he's gonna be winning scoring titles.

that title makes no sense
potential is shown only in producing goals.. not so much as in defending goals. all around plays are still lacking..
BEDARD !!!
what is that title lmao
Slaf will have a better season then Bedard this year
Delusional Habs fan lol.
Hes great, but highly overrated by casuals.
He's good but overrated.
He's a patrick kane level player not a connor mcdavid or Sidney crosby
He has the potential to be a level above Patrick Kane.

totally over rated!! Great Junior player, below average NHL!
