Born and raised EGF… There is nothing like the pride I feel for this arena and program. Lucky to have gotten to play, practice, and work out here growing up… Let alone go to every home game for years and years. SIOUX YEAH YEAH!!!
UND alum here…. 1999-2003. Got the best of both worlds. Saw a National Championship, had 2 years in the Old Ralph which was legendary and 2 years at the New Ralph! I used to be inline e penalty box seats to! So glad the traditions are still alive!
What an amazing facility. Treat the players well and they will play for the staff. Simple in collegiate hockey and only a few do it, but most say they do. Great video, thanks for doing it. 😊
My son, who plays youth hockey, and I had the privilege of touring the Notre Dame locker room. Very similar in appearance and amenities for the players. He eventually was able to play a game on Notre Dame ice. It was a fantastic experience. This was an awesome piece. Great job. What I love is how much this player loves his team, coach, his family, his church, and is so humble at the same time. Respect!✊
I came to the comments to say this similar thing. Notre Dame has a very similar lockerroom to the North Dakota lockerroom. I dare say, a tad better. Along with the commenter in this thread, I too play at Compton Arena on thursdays for the beer league. At the end of the season, the teams and family members get the opportunity to tour the lockerroom. I wish I could post pictures here but it is quite an impressive experience.
Really impressed with Jamernik. Not a huge hockey guy so I don’t know what his professional prospects are but I’m sure UND would love to keep him around in some future capacity. Well spoken and down to earth ambassador for the program.
I was able to catch a game there last season… it is absolutely amazing!! The atmosphere is even better. Grand Forks is all about UND Hockey, such a great environment 💚
I forget how old I was but I went to a camp there for a week. Boarded at the university which was super cool and we got worked by the current players. It was such a cool experience. Unfortunately the arena didn't look like this when I was there. I mean the walls and history was but the skill room was different. I think the weight room was the same but I don't remember the other room attached. I think we saw the lockerroom but it wasn't this one that's for sure. Saw a lot of cool things and definitely an experience I'll never forget
No question but it is North Dakota. Clearly doesn’t affect recruiting though, probably sick to be the big dawgs on campus compared to schools in cities like Ann Arbor, Boston, Madison, Twin Cities, Denver etc
Years ago I took my Aunt and Uncle to a game there against Wisconsin. Upper bowl front row seats, best seats in the house I tells ya. You could see everything from there clear as day. Sioux won 3-1. We had a blast.
As extravagant as this is, it's good for North America hockey. With a vibrant US college league it will just up the compete level and quality of hockey in general. They will match if not already surpass the Canadian feeder system (OHL, QMJHL, WHL)
Well done G. Keep these cranking out, definitely upped my interest for the championship & frozen four this year. Hoping for a BC BU final that we can force to Whit to live stream
You need to have rich, crazy, Nazi loving donors. You should see some of the college football facilties in the southern US. I think most American would prefer to have Canada's affordable colleges.

What's great is seeing all the Fighting Sioux logos and theme's still present deep in the Ralph... The Engelstad's cannot be thanked enough for what they paid for a heck of a facility. Too bad they squandered their chances again at a title this year.
Wow. I’ve been in the Buffalo Sabres locker room, which is f’ing amazing, and this looks just as sick. I’d be waaaaay too comfortable between periods lol.

Legit insane lol incredible recruiting video for ND as well (not that they needed it).
All those Canadian players love it! ❤️

And arena lol
Got nothing on the Yotes
When you think of Calgary as bottom line and not the Desert Dogs.
They already won when they put their arena the hell away from Alberta...
As a Boston guy I love seeing spicy cities and states getting shine like ND
As someone who grew up in Grand Forks, I'd call ND rusty not spicy 🤣
In the end, this is a good program.
Oh, ok.
In the end, this galvanizes the boys before a game
In the end Michigan won.
@@jamesfox5105 Don't we always?
Of note. Ralph Engelstad provided the funds for the arena under the condition that the team never lose the name the Fighting Sioux.
