It would be cool if you showed a more detailed guide of how you clean and postprocess your prints, since the whole tray can't fit into the wash and cure station.
My only hesitation is the build plate. If resin gets inside the hollow portion and the spring mechanism start getting stuck, having to take it apart and cleaning it will be a pain. This build plate is a great candidate for a magnetic build plate. Too bad they generally don't work well for large format printers.
@lanzer22 because of the plate design I think you can squeeze several strong magnets in between the plates and make it work. If you get strong enough magnets it will probably hold the metal plate, because the tilting bed will have way less suction resistance.. if anything you could probably design a plate with holes for magnets and glue them into a small thin retainer upper resin print. I plan on using my cnc and making an additional plate hopefully that will have some sunken magnets. Can't wait for them to ship it!
@@newmonengineering true that there will be less pull force on the plate. Will definitely experiment with different magnets to see what works. I literally *just* sold my resin printer because I hated the mess, but if I hadn't already tried resin printing, this would definitely convince me to try it. *So* much easier than mine was... Except that you still have to deal with all the mess and fumes. I don't imagine they'll ever "fix" that, though.

The speeds on this are insane and it doesn't look like much compared to the Saturn 3 Ultra, but as you said, when you consider this is using PFA film rather than ACF, you don't loose detail, so WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!

I am new to 3D Resin printing. However, I've watched many videos on many different 3D resin printers. This is my top pick if I decide to purchase. Thank you.
I have a Saturn 2 and really like it. I am not ready to upgrade as it works and I have other things I can spend $400 on. However after seeing this I was tempted. They addressed almost all my issues I had to overcome with the Saturn 2, short of making the build plate even bigger.
Bed leveling has always been my main issue (that and resin spilling)😅 This is amazing and I'll definitely have to grab this printer! Uncle Jessy never disappoints with these videos!
Hopefully you can still go in and adjust the speed, lift and lower settings in the slicer? Auto calibration is nice and all, but different resins and even different models can require different settings and you need to be able to adjust those on a print-by-print basis. Excited to see the power resume function. That actually seems like something new that Elegoo figured out on their own, instead of just copying the competition. I wonder if it would work better with the heater installed, so the resin isn't cooling while idle? There are questions though. What's with the plate design with the long standoffs allowing resin to pool on top of the plate in an inaccessible space? And a hollow build plate that collects liquid inside and drips it out at random, seems like a recipe for disaster. The portrait orientation touch screen? Why? And it's great that the error calibration detects cured resin floating in the vat but if it still ends up puncturing the FEP, it sounds like they need to calibrate that feature better.
My Sat 4 Ultra is sat in the box ready to be set up this weekend. So far only played with FDM (3xBambu A1, Elegoo Neptune 4 & 4 Max) so excited to try resin (and scared). This video had some great information to get me going.

Ordered mine, can't wait for it to arrive. Should be a nice upgrade from my OG Saturn. What size is the vent circle in the back of the printer? I want to set up an exhaust system for it.
I am in the exact same case and excitation state! I'm currently designing a custom exhaust system too. I managed to run a ⌀40mm PVC pipe vertically down the inside of the drywall of my workshop, as the air extraction unit happens to be located in the attic just vertically from this non-load-bearing wall. The pipe inlet emerges into the room next to where the printer will be, via a 90° elbow passing through a dummy socket cover. It connects through a custom iris shutter mechanism that I'm currently designing, that will allow me to control the amount of air being sucked in, or totally stop the extraction. I decided to use a cheap Chinese replica of a Dyson vacuum hose to connect the printer to this wall "air socket" due to the convenient quick release mechanism. I might add a small activated carbon filter (easy to replace) in order to keep the pipe and the extractor fan in the attic as clean as possible over time (I dunno it this is overkill or not? wrt resin VOCs). If I like the final setup, I'll share it on Printables :)
the space i have is very limited, but i really want a resin printer for my 3D models i make, but im wondering how bad are the fumes from a resin printer, like can i have it sitting in my bedroom and it will stink out the place with fumes or can i use it the same as a FDM printer with a little more clean up effort ?

Saturn 2 screen went bye bye so I have been debating upgrading or spending the $100+ for the screen. Saturn 4 Ultra looks so nice and easy. How easy is it to replace the screen? I think the Saturn 2 is insane with having to take the whole thing apart.
Hey im reallky thinkin to starting with 3d printing and thbat would be my first so my question is do i really need all this extra stuff like the heater the washing station and co or can i just start with only getting the printer?
How they can sell these for this price, I’m amazed. Does make me wonder if the 3d printer market skips a few markups/middlemen between manufacturer and consumer, compared to most manufacturers products
I got started resin printing with the original Saturn. Now I have a pair of Saturn 2 printers that have performed almost flawlessly. Looking forward to getting the Saturn 4 Ultra.
I wonder if the LCD-Displays are now better than the ones from the Ultra 3. I bought mine Ultra 3 last September and I already had to replace the display 4 times! If the Ultra4 would come with a 11" or 12" display and with a resin bed heater I would buy it immediately. Waiting for the Ultra5 or a product from another manufacturer
The tilting vat is certainly interesting innovation but i suppose only time will tell if the tilting motor will lasts as long as the usual motor as well as any other potential issues that may crop up. I would wait until the next iteration before buying into this new tech.

Hi, I bought this printer and also bought a metal plate which I am waiting for in the mail. Do you know if the metal plate could cause any problems with this auto leveler? As always, a very good and informative video. Thanks in advance.
I was looking into a new resin printer. This might just be the one. I'm still using the original mars and hope the new build room will allow more creativity
I dunno about the tilting bed. Fewer moving parts means fewer thinks to go wrong. The early expensive sla printers had tilt bed designs and those seem to have been abandoned by even printer since.
Every new feature about this printer is an improvement on something that users had complained about with the Saturn 3 line. I'm so glad that Elegoo is not only listening to the feedback that they recieve, but also copying from competitors who are doing the things that printers love.
Hey Uncle Jessy, I preordered the Saturn 4 Ultra and once I got it I set it up and it didn’t print anything on my first attempt…I haven’t tried anything else yet. I’m actually waiting to get some tips form some of you might be able to provide me.
Questions: Air Filtration of any kind? What is the Drip tray made out of? Thinking of how easy/hard that will be to clean over time. With the tilt feature seems like an issue could crop up for the FEP to fail and have resin leak into the printer, how easy is it to get into the printer itself to fix this?
I'd honestly love to get into 3d printing, but considering how dangerous and messy resin is, that sadly wouldn't be an option, and don't really have anywhere i could put a fdm printer. This new printer does look impressive though.
Great video, bought one right after watching this video.Great pricing $399 for printer itself but I went for combo with the Mercury XS wash and cure stations for $579. Would have went for the combo with the air purifier but there was not a lot of information on the air purifier and as this is my first resin printer I need the wash and cure. Would love to see a video on the Air purifier and heater from you.
And the one question I still have is..... does resin printing still smell the whole house up? I tried to get into it, and bought one of the older Saturn's some time ago. The smell gave me headaches, and I had to get rid of it.
so you refered to this as auto leveling, fauxhammer goes pretty hard on that being a missnomer, whats your thoughts on that, does it actualy level the plate with the screen?
I'm really curious how well the mini-heater add on works. Does it talk to the printer, so that the printer will turn it on/off and only start when at temp? How easy is installation? does it sit in the chamber with the vat like their carbon filter things? Or is it in the bottom under the screen?
this would literally be the perfect starter printer for anyone. Auto levelling and auto resin calibration is crazy. The AI camera is such a good addition too. Ill just have to save for a few years 🥲
Hmmm a self leveling resin printer ??? Sounds awesome and the price looks just about my budget. My only question is does those mini heaters provide the required heat output to keep the resin at desired temps and since there are more moving parts is the build plate actually leveled every time ? Thanks for the review and your time.
The venom and skull look awesome I'm new to resin printing looking 4 my 1st printer was looking at a GKTWO but think this is a better choise thank you 👍
resin printers NEED a better system to prevent the spilling, the whole process of taking the plate off should start with a hinge to swing the plate a few degrees back and forth to allow dripping AND they should have a fan to dry with nozzles that hit everywheer liek a car wash.. i hate dealing with dripping resin. it turns me off to resiun prints
When doing review of Saturn 4, can you compare it to Saturn 3 (non-Ultra) and discuss differences? Price difference is only like 3$, but S3 has bigger print volume, and very very similar parameters.
solid looking printer. still a little concerned about leakage around the tilting bed though. Would love to see how that end of things foes long term Heck, even just how it survives a fep puncture
Green cover kicks arse! (do not like the charcoal translucent at all) I wonder how much the green cover is.. or of you can order the 4 Ultra with a green cover? Definitely needs a heater!
I'm using Phrozen machines but this ultra is looking amazing. I need another machine so will check this out. However, I don't do fantasy figures at all, I do engineering parts, smooth curves with sharp clean edges. Have you tried for dimensional stability?
I'm considering upgrading from an Anycubic Photon Mono 2. Would I benefit from a heater for this 3D printer if I primarily print indoors? Or is it more useful for those who print in non-temperature-controlled environments?
Thanks for the video. Unfirtunaly my satunr 3 Ultra just died and i am looking now for a new printer. I have some questions: Because of the way the print bet is now is ther enot a lot of wasted resin ? By the look of it you cant really reach the top of the printbet the get to the access resin. Another question is if there are still slot for the airpurifier that where part of the satunr 3 ultra. The third question is if there is again the possibility to stuck the printbet vertical in place so that the access resin can drip down into the tank(i really missed this on the S3U.Thanks in advance for the answer.

Did they give you a delivery date? I want to order one but am concerned with arrival time, need it before July
@@TheNataliaReyes Same told me June/July. They said they are coming by boat to the states and then will be sent by air to be delivered
And the one question I still have is..... does resin printing still smell the whole house up? I tried to get into it, and bought one of the older Saturn's some time ago. The smell gave me headaches, and I had to get rid of it.
Once they add a heated vat (Saturn 5 Ultra maybe?) it will be close to perfection. And even now without it, at $399 this is a superb machine.
Jessy didn't Prusa resin printer have the dipping resin tray a few years ago? So really this is not a new feature per say. I guess the patent ran out.
Wish the Ultra had the Green Cover - it Looks like it would let more light in for timelapse videos.
I am excited to see the resin tray has a pour spout corner. Such a simple yet significant addition.
so you refered to this as auto leveling, fauxhammer goes pretty hard on that being a missnomer, whats your thoughts on that, does it actualy level the plate with the screen?
I'm really curious how well the mini-heater add on works. Does it talk to the printer, so that the printer will turn it on/off and only start when at temp? How easy is installation? does it sit in the chamber with the vat like their carbon filter things? Or is it in the bottom under the screen?
Great video as always! We're working on integrating WiFi and camera features to make them available as soon as possible 😊
this would literally be the perfect starter printer for anyone.
I am hesitant between the regular 4 or the ultra, are the few extra option on the ultra a worth enough quality of life change or not ??
The venom and skull look awesome I'm new to resin printing looking 4 my 1st printer was looking at a GKTWO but think this is a better choise thank you 👍
Hi! I want to buy this Elegoo but so many people have problems with the lcd. Is real this problem?
what is lcd?
resin printers NEED a better system to prevent the spilling, the whole process of taking the plate off should start with a hinge to swing the plate a few degrees back and forth to allow dripping AND they should have a fan to dry with nozzles that hit everywheer liek a car wash.. i hate dealing with dripping resin. it turns me off to resiun prints
How are the fumes? Are you able to add any kind of vacuumed tube to it or enclose it in anyway?
Please do the saturn 4 review soon 😭 Deciding which one to get and I like the color of the saturn 4 better
Would love to see how that end of things foes long term
Heck, even just how it survives a fep puncture
Green cover kicks arse! (do not like the charcoal translucent at all) I wonder how much the green cover is.. or of you can order the 4 Ultra with a green cover? Definitely needs a heater!
As of 2024 what is the best resin printer with speed quality and size all in one?
My wish list for Saturn 5 Ultra, no auto leveling, green or orange lid with handle, and improved pour sprout. If possible, larger touch screen 🙂
Why dont you want auto levelling?
@@jessicaalvis7063 i think the normal leveling with 4 screws works just fine, and quite easy to fix if anything goes wrong.
that was a pretty cool intro where it cycles through the different iterations
I am new to 3d printing, and am curious as to what the use of the external heater is?
I'm using Phrozen machines but this ultra is looking amazing. I need another machine so will check this out.
However, I don't do fantasy figures at all, I do engineering parts, smooth curves with sharp clean edges.
Have you tried for dimensional stability?
Looking to buy a resin printer and have been waiting for the S4U to release and see some reviews and I gotta say I might finally take the plunge!
I'm considering upgrading from an Anycubic Photon Mono 2. Would I benefit from a heater for this 3D printer if I primarily print indoors? Or is it more useful for those who print in non-temperature-controlled environments?
Okay uncle Jesse, so I've been debating between getting that one but in the cleaning kit what's the cleaner for the print after your done?
A printer like this here in Brazil costs more than triple.
Sad, because I would love to buy one of these.
Did you ever finish the magneto lifesize statue?
Have you yet tested the Heater please as key to my buying decision?
Thanks for the video. Unfirtunaly my satunr 3 Ultra just died and i am looking now for a new printer. I have some questions: Because of the way the print bet is now is ther enot a lot of wasted resin ? By the look of it you cant really reach the top of the printbet the get to the access resin. Another question is if there are still slot for the airpurifier that where part of the satunr 3 ultra. The third question is if there is again the possibility to stuck the printbet vertical in place so that the access resin can drip down into the tank(i really missed this on the S3U.Thanks in advance for the answer.
When will they have extra vats and screen protectors for sale??
Hey, do you have any advice for my problem with the Saturn 4Ultra? My prints are so difficult to remove from the build plate that I almost need a hammer 😂. Warm water helps, but I’d prefer not to have to submerge the entire plate every time.
Saving money to order one of these soon. This looks amazing for the price range and features.
more interested in saturn 4 then ultra atm. if it can produce same prints for 150.00 less for me in canada , it will probably be my purchase. still waiting for reviews.
Same for me. WiFi and the camera are nice but not worth it for me. The tilting vat looks cool though…
@@jasperb9233 agree but so many printers dont have tilting vat and still produce great prints. and the other thing that scares me about tilting vat is , if it goes out of alignment and messes up bed leveling?
Ordered our ultra via your link can't wait to print it. The camera does it work in a dark room amd still film in a time-lapse or do you need to get a light in the printer some how.
Did it tell you when you will receive it? I want to place my order but not sure when it will arrive, need it before July.
Is it really best for first-time resin buyers?
I wish they didn't lower the z height by 40mm, otherwise I would buy this.
Just got my Sat4 Ultra. Gonnabhave it to large models that i couldn't comfortably donwith my mars 2 p.
in india its price is way higher of 686 dollars which is because of the taxes and import duties
WOW! These have come so far.
Can you use magnetic build plates with this new design? Or, is this no longer 'necessary/super conveneint' for some other reason.
Hi Jesse thanks for the review, can you share with us the VROOM settings for the Saturn 3 Ultra please? Thanks ❤
